  1. Just finish diving in Bonaire and Curacao.   Bonaire: VIP divers    Curacao: The Dive Shop Curacao.

Both where great. They picked us up at the pier and dropped us back off. Both were shore dives. Small groups: Bonaire was a group of 4 and Curacao was just the two of us.   Let me know if you have any questions. I know I always wonder who to go with when diving off the cruise ship.

Here is a good frozen drink similar to a mudslide but not made with a mix.   I will show it to the bartenders and they make it.

I tried to get the bartender at the sunset bar (Equinox) to make it for me and he said no way it's all booze 🙂 exact same pic you are showing.

My husband and I are leaving on a transatlantic on 4/22 and his new iPad just died. This is big deal. There is nothing he can do at this point, but have him use mine, use his phone or bring his MacBook Pro on board. The best idea for the both of us is to bring his laptop, but I am concerned that it doesn’t fit in the safe. Do I remember that right? And if not does anyone bring their laptop anyway?

    Thanks,  Sarah

I have to work so always bring my laptop Mac Pro never had a problem I just put it on the bottom self of the stand by the bed away from the door.  I have done this for about the last 8 cruises. No problems.

Get to the airport tired to

Stay up.the night before your flight - get to the airport tired and sleep on the plane after breakfast.

As said a NAP - not over an hour - at your hotel in AMS.  Go to bed that night at your regular time.  You should be fine the next day.

PS - no alcohol the night before flying.

    Well I blew that on the no alcohol :-}

    Who were you informed by?

I did see a post on the big social media site yesterday that doing the room charge at one of the slots resulted in promotional play rather than straight redeemable cash like it worked previously.  It sounds they're making you cycle through the room charge amount and you can only cash out the winnings.  It was only one person that reported on this on Equinox.  Who knows if other ships are doing the same thing.  Maybe they're cracking down on this loophole?

It was the celebrity booking agent. She wanted to make sure I knew about the OBC and the Casino. I wondered if this was closing the loophole.

For anyone with pending (additional) charges, will these just drop off or do we have to call Royal and ask them to remove them?  Didn't have any during the original issue (eventually booked that one on the app).  Then booked another excursion last night when it came back up.  That one was ok.  Then it had an issue again when I tried to purchase one additional item.  Booking didn't complete (error again about cc issue), but we noticed the pending charge on our credit card.

I called Royal and was told to wait and see if the pending goes through. They can't do anything as they do not see the charges. Got billed twice for everything all pending. I tried two different cards still something wrong with the card error (really both cards?)The guy (Pedro) tried to book internet for me.It went through and before I could get to my email to verify,  it had been cancelled because the system said the card was not valid.Pedro had no clue what to do as it came through on the card site as pending (again). He said to wait a few days and try again.

  7. Any one have to deal with the testing for 10 or more days?  If yes how did it go for boarding, was just a picture on your phone good?

    • The test you take can be professionally administered by a health professional, such as a doctor or pharmacist, or you can use a home test kit. Home test kits for these sailings are not required to be administered under live video supervision.
    • You will present the negative test result at the time of boarding. You can show it in the form of a printout, an email, or an app screen from the test provider. Or you can show a picture of your negative home test on your phone, or present the actual negative test itself.

Disclaimer:  I have never used Arch RoamRight nor have I ever purchased an annual comprehensive travel insurance plan.  I continue to purchase an annual GeoBlue Trekker plan for emergency medical and medical evacuation.  I have looked at annual plans from Arch RoamRight, Allianz, Travel Guard, Nationwide, Travel Insured, Seven Corners, and Trawick Intl. I do have one of the Chase Sapphire cards that offers some travel insurance benefits. I have looked at cards from AmEx and Bank of America that provide travel insurance.

My conclusion is there aren't any annual comprehensive plans that work well for me, and they are not worth considering for anyone without other medical coverage. All of the annual plans I am aware of have significant holes, and unless the holes are not important to you (because you have other coverage or are willing to self-insure some things), I doubt you will find what most people are are looking for.  The common issues I have include:

    • Most plans do not offer adequate medical coverage.  All but one have $50K or less and the one with $100K is usually more expensive than purchasing individual plans.
    • Many of the plans provide secondary medical coverage.  I am on Medicare with a supplement (Medigap) so primary medical coverage is important.
    • None offer more than $15K of trip cancelation, and most offer a lot less.
    • All have quirks such as limits on trip length, no waiver of pre-existing conditions or others.

As you mentioned Tripinsurancestore no longer offers these plans, and Steve has told me why.  Two other internet travel insurance brokers often mentioned on this forum also do not offer these plans.

If you already have good foreign emergency travel medical coverage, one of the plans may work for you. Just be sure you read and understand everything.  And be sure they work for your situation.

A few comments on the two companies you mentioned:

RoamRight - Cons: $25K medical coverage, 30 day maximum trip, $10K cancelation.  Pros: Primary medical coverage, offers pre-existing conditions waiver.

Allianz - offers at least 4 different plans - Cons: $20K or $50K medical coverage, $0K to $15K cancelation, secondary medical coverage. Pros: 45 or 90 day maximum trip length, offers pre-existing conditions waiver.

If you elect to purchase a plan, can you let us know which one and why.  Good luck.

Thank you for your response. I do have the GeoBlue Trekker plan for the reasons you stated. I was just looking mainly for trip cancellation or interruption insurance, lost baggage etc. My United card does have some some travel insurance benefits. I need to go back and review and see if these will be enough. Again thank you for your thoughts and the pros and cons. They helped.

TreeCity is correct- those statements do not show up on the April 18th check in screen of the App.  That said- I think testing will continue to be a requirement so I already purchased my tests and will be ready.

Thanks. I was wondering if it was just my check in. I read somewhere that April 14 was the date RCCL had listed for testing and then deciding. But like everyone else I have ordered tests just incase.

We're cruising April 2 and 14th (b2b) and yes testing is required for both as of now.  It's on Royal's website.  It's also part of the check in.  It's one of the things that pops up.  You need to look again.

    Current protocols:

Thanks for the link. It is still not showing up on the check in for April 18.

@BazingAuI wanted to explore, and didn't want to take the shuttle.  I'm not sure what the schedule was, but doubt it was full.  Research beforehand showed that the CP was less than a mile from the cruise port.  Had the weather been inclement, I might have tried the shuttle, but as it was, I was trying to avoid crowded travel environments prior to boarding the ship.

Thank you for the walking video just what I was wanting information about. And for the Green Onion recommendation.
