I've been in Argentina recently, both Buenos Aires and Mendoza. There's no rioting. But while things are cheap for us Americans, this devaluation has been devastating for most Argentineans. They have much less money than they used to.I had Uber rides the other day that were 10-15 minutes long and cost me less than $3.00 but the cost of gas when coverted to gallons and dollars was about $3.50/gallon. In my calculation the Uber driver is losing money at that rate. Even though tipping for transportation is not the norm, I tipped generously. I talked with several locals who were telling me that they've had to move home with their parents to be able to survive - both rent and food-wise. And in some places with US cash I was receiving 1200 pesos to the dollar. (And I think my credit card is giving me around 965 pesos to the dollar.)

Thank you for being so respectful towards what we Argentineans are going through.

Totally confused. What class of cabin were you in?

Your cabin didn't have a bed?? I've never heard of that on any ship.

Sorry for not being clear on my first post. I didn't want to write a long rant. We were 3 adults staying on a wheelchair-accessible balcony. There was a double bed and a tiny sofa. There was no way an adult could sleep on that sofa. It wasn't even for a child. The Guest Services employee even said, "My 9-year-old nephew doesn't fit there!" The next day, they brought a very uncomfortable bed which at least was a normal size. But I had to beg for it. Everyone treated me like I wanted a free upgrade or something. It was insane.

You slept on a tiny sofa?

Yes, the first night. I complained as soon as I saw it, but they said they couldn't do anything at that moment. They fixed it by the next noon after I spent the entire morning at Guest Services and refused to leave until they found a solution. It was so disappointing considering how expensive the trip was, and I booked a year and a half ahead, so there are no excuses for this mistake.

  4. I hated the Infinity, I don't care if you think I'm bringing negativity. I spent a lot of money on a cruise and expected good service. Also, I don't understand how people get extra onboard credit by complaining. I was practically crying at Guest Services because they pretended me to sleep on a tiny sofa, and no one even apologized for the awful night I had spent. I don't think I'll ever sail Celebrity again because they really messed up, they don't even know the kind of sofas they have in their cabins.

  5. To wrap up, Celebrity called me last Wednesday and I got my refund on the credit card today. They told me it could take up to two weeks to show up, but it wasn't that long.

Thank you all for your help!

  6. They replied through Twitter! They said they will check it and let me know. Thank you everyone for your help. I know $30 is not a lot for some people, but it's a lot for me since it's not my own currency.

  7. Celebrity Infinity Feb 2023

    CABIN #: 6105

    DECK #: 6

    CLASS: 2B (Wheelchair-accessible veranda)

    AREA: Midship port side

    BED NEAR: Bathroom

    QUIET?: Yes, mostly.

BALCONY VIEW: Clear view, perfect for Antarctica

BALCONY SIZE: It had two chairs and a table, I could fit in my wheelchair, too.

WIND A PROBLEM?: Yes, it was freezing next to the balcony door.

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: No.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The cabin does not have a sofa bed as stated on the website. I checked with the accessibility team, but something is wrong with their files. The sofa is very small and only suitable for small children (up to 5 years old). We were 3 adults, so they had to bring a foldable bed for me, it was very uncomfortable. They shouldn't sell this as a triple cabin.

No reason to be mad, people make errors.  It happens sometimes, a employee mistakenly can put down in the wrong cabin number.  We have had it happen and  Celebrity quickly reversed the charge.
Did you email the Captains Club or the Celebrity Engagement Center?

Well, Celebrity made a lot of mistakes on my cruise, so I have reasons to be mad. I emailed  cec@celebrity.com, I don't know if it's working. It didn't know I could get in touch with Captain's Club for this issue.

Two option -   One is to e-mail Engagement Center -   CelebrityEngagementCenter@celebrity.com

The other is to message them via Twitter.   They respond pretty quickly.

    Thank you! I'll do both.

  9. Hi guys! I returned from Infinity on Saturday, and I found that they charged me $30.60 for the minibar, but we never touched it! I sent an email to Celebrity, but of course, they haven't replied. I can't call them because it will be expensive for me. Is there another email where I can complain? We only used the minibar to store the water bottles in the classic package and the chocolates they give us at night. We didn't consume anything, not even the Evian waters. We haven't had this issue on other cruises, I'm so mad.

    Any advice? Thanks!

Here's a picture from Infinity from Cruise Deck Plans

They also have the same chair for the pool and spa on Infinity

Couldn't find a picture with one for the spa pool.   But gut feel there's one there.

I think the use the same chair fleet wide.   I've seen the same chair at the Retreat Sun Deck on both M and S Class post revolution.    Celebrity does a good job of making the ship and facilities accessible.

That's good to know! I'll be sailing Infinity on Saturday, so I'll find out soon 🤣

Won't have time - I think our tour ends about the time we have to be back on the ship. Glad we are docked and not tendering. Several ships here - two are docked and at least two are tendering.

God, those penguins got me excited!! Can't wait to see them! Did the captain say an estimated time to see them?

By the way, when did Celebrity change it to dock? Were you told beforehand? I'm praying for a dock for my cruise (I'm a wheelchair user).

If you got the basic Wi-Fi with your booking you should be able to upgrade on board for $15 pd.  The difference in price between the basic wi-fi and premium.
If you upgrade pre cruise the price is $13 pd.  There should be a voucher offer in your Cruise Planner offering the $13.  If your OBC is from Celebrity then you can use it to upgrade pre cruise.

However if the OBC is from your TA then it is not available to use until you are on the ship.

That's good news! Thank you so much for your reply. I have the basic wifi (all included promo) and I have OBC from Celebrity. I haven't seen a voucher offer, but maybe I didn't look hard enough.

    Don't feel bad, it's OK. 😊

Most people don’t have a need to memorize 3 letter Airport codes. 😉

EZE is the airport that services Montevideo, Argentina.

EZE is Buenos Aires' airport. But since I'm not going to the airport I was confused.
