I also received an update a section of which is shown below
"Upon careful consideration of all feedbacks received from our valued guests, the test that took place in the casinos on the Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse through August 20th has discontinued" - no reason for the discontinuation - but I am pleased it has stopped.

I e mailed them too and had the exact same reply. I have replied and challenged them should they affect changes on ships sailing out of UK. In the UK vaping is treated in exactly the same way as smoking, i.e. banned from all internal communal spaces - so in my view they should abide by that rule in the same way as the age limit to drink alcohol is reduced to 18 on UK sailings.
With regard to the vapes themselves - they are not solely being used as a substitute for smoking, we see youngsters using them who have never smoked - because it appears to be a cool thing to do. The colours/flavours are deliberately targeting the young who are filling their lungs with goodness knows what rubbish.
To me this is another example of Celebrity sneaking changes onto the ships without any warning or consultation. I hope they don't extend this when the trial ends

I am considering booking a stateroom (balcony) on Deck 8. I have decision to make whether to select one above the pizzeria or the Sur La Mer. I am told that both of these eateries have external eating areas. Does anyone know whether either allows smoking in the external areas? I do not wish to enter into a debate about smoking - just want to avoid a balcony directly above a smoking area. Thank you so much

The variations within the British Isles for a cooked breakfast are endless. Irish breakfast would substitute soda bread for lava bread. A 'full English' breakfast is such a dated concept. We have vegetarians, vegans and pescaterians within our extensive family. I can't eat a cooked breakfast because I am egg intolerant.
I wonder if the MDR caters for Asian breakfasts ??
I doubt if soda bread would be a substitute for lava bread given that lava bread is actually seaweed and not bread at all
-
One thing that I have never seen is a full welsh breakfast. That would be, bacon, sausages, cockles, lava bread, eggs and toast

I have upgraded, got 10 percent off because of our status with CC, used our obc to pay

I sent an e mail to both the people in Celebrity referred to in this thread. I asked what I consider to be pertinent questions, including capacity in the MDR, dress codes for the MDR for those who want to wear shorts. I also reminded them that I have other cruiselines to choose from - that perhaps are not as chic but still provide a great choice. I have received a reply asking for my phone number (by the way they managed to work out the sailing I am on in September because they referred to that in their reply - I didn't include the details in my e mail) and a convenient time to speak to me. I have replied by telling them that I would prefer a reply via e mail

very much depends on how you travel and what time you disembark, just over an hour by car, regular national express coaches maybe just over 2 hours, train a bit longer

Dancing has been allowed for a while now, the only rule in place on Ventura a couple of weeks ago was no using the dance floor when a live act was on.
Thank you so much

Is anyone on board at the moment who can inform me whether or not dancing can now take place? I believe it was banned previously. Many thanks

We are off on a Celebrity Cruise next week and they have made a real hash of informing us of requirements. Only made clear to us 2 days ago.
They have complicated matters by splitting guests into 3 categories and when you take the test depends on what cat the guest is in. In our case we are known as being "up to date" i.e. 2 jabs and at least one booster, that means we can take a monitored lft 2 days prior to boarding. Fully vaccinated means a test the day before and the unvaccinated must have a test on the day with restrictions imposed on those passengers whilst on board.
At least P and O have made it very clear what is required - but of course this may change between now and then.
Me and my husband have been "isolating" for 7 days - no shopping and only leaving the house for outdoor exercise as we are desperate to ensure we have a negative test on Tuesday.

Oh my goodness the wonderful photos of Istanbul have brought back memories. The sail in late am / early pm was magnificent, as we sailed up we heard the Imans calling worshippers to prayers from the Minarets and to see the palaces and the Mosques is a sight I will never forgot. Even today I can hear the sounds and they send shivers down my spine.

We transferred our Sept 2021 cruise to the med to a Canaries cruise in Sept 22. No problem with transferring but cabins were selling fast
-
Thank you for this, we were due to sail on 28/9 no doubt we will hear direct from them
-
This makes interesting reading, there is a link towards the end of the article that takes you to the full report. Tbh if this is the future of cruising I for one won't be cruising again
-
one of the reasons we enjoy cruising is the social interaction between passengers. I cannot see us cruising whilst this pandemic continues. we are due to pay the balance of a cruise scheduled to depart on 28/9/20 (Celebrity) the company are still taking bookings for it - despite 50% of the ports are Spanish! I am of the view they will cancel but who knows? we won't be sailing but will lose our deposit if we cancel
-
Hi all, what is this "lift and shift" you are talking about? We have a cruise booked departing late September but we have decided that even if cruising resumes we would not feel safe sailing. Thank you
-
we pre book for 7.30 and only once did we have to wait, if we change our plans we always notify the hostess, usually we are seated at the same table
-
Thank you all so much for your views. We have selected club dining late sitting. That way we know exactly where we are, we will tailor our evening accordingly. If our plans don't fit in well for an evening or two we will go to the buffet or a select dining venue.
Thank you all again
-
Thank you all for your info. We were seriously thinking of booking club dining (late sitting) but 2 good friends of ours are adamant that if we book freedom and want to eat at about 19.30 - table for 4 we will not see any queues. Thoughts please
-
Thank you for your reply harry Peterson, I was referring to Freedom dining. Would you clarify whether or not we would have to share a table, there will be 4 of us and would prefer not to share.
Thanks in advance

After a bit of a gap (about 8 years) we are considering returning to P and O. Would someone be kind enough to explain how P and O's select dining works. With Celebrity freedom dining enables you to turn up and be seated (perhaps a bit of a wait depending on how busy they are) OR pre-book your table, Does the same apply to P and O? or is it simply you turn up and take your chance? Thanks in advance

Does anyone know when the decorations are taken down? Here it is normally on 12th night i.e about 6 Jan. We are on Reflection on 4th January so am wondering if they will still be up!!!

Hi all, please bear with me on this:
Our 4/1/19 11 day Reflection cruise includes classic bev package perk but it's not listed on the cruise planner. If I add it to the cart online it's priced at $1,225.32 for two pax, and if I add the premium it's $1,433 for two. So... does that mean if I get them to add the perk into the planner and upgrade it I'll only pay the difference of $208 for the two of us? Can I use the OBC for that? Is this actually a discount?
All a bit confusing to me - thanks for any clarification.
We are on this sailing and like you the classic was included. We upgraded by ringing the Captains Club and for approx. £6.50 per person per night we now have the premium package. I was told the offer ends on Monday
Seriously now-how many of you are REALLY looking at other cruise lines because of the CEO's changes going on?

I have already booked with a different cruise line for next year. Reason being the new edge ships have replaced the s ships out of Southampton, we want a proper balcony and the SV's are horrendously expensive, secondly the price for an infinity balcony is 2k higher than a normal balcony on the other line. The other cruise line may not be "luxury" but the menu is better
