What’s the weather like sailing round trip San Francisco to Hawaii in March?

We are booked for a 14 day transatlantic cruise in October. We have cruise 25 times and always enjoyed formal nights. I see that HAL now has Gala Nights. Does anyone know if a tuxedo is too much to wear? What is the percentage of guests that will wear a tux? Don’t want to be overdressed. Your thoughts?
