  1. Thanks for the advice! The “kids” have never been old enough to have a room on their own, so usually we split up girls in one room and boys in the other. Not sure how any of us feel about putting the “ kids” in a room by themselves since there is a boy and girl. But I appreciate the input.

  2. We are Diamond + members so have been on many RCI ships but never been on a radiance class ship. We have also never had any kind of suite. We are looking to take our 2 adult kids (ages 18 & 21) on a cruise for Christmas on the Brilliance of the seas. It appears we can book 2 side by side aft balconies (which we love!) or for about $470 more have the 1 bedroom grand suite. The biggest difference I can see is that 2 of us would have to sleep on the pull out couch in the grand suite. What would you do??? Also, does anyone know if the deck partitions in the back of Brilliance can be opened to provide access to both decks?

  3. With regard to the shows, there is a "box office" set up on embarkation day which you can use to try to and the new cruisers to the same shows you have. Look at the boarding day compass they give you at check-in, it will show the location of the box office.

Thank you - that is good to know! We will try that but wondering if they will only offer the shows that are available online. Hopefully they can help us! I appreciate the information!

  4. We booked a cruise in mid-March on the Allure of the Seas a year in advance for a party of 5. We have My Time Dining but grabbed reservations when they became available online and got all of our show reservations when those became available. Yesterday, my parents decided to join us (their travel plans changed) on our cruise. I am very happy that they are joining us, but of course I can't get show times that match ours for any of the shows. And I know that if I try to add them to our dining reservations that we will not be eating before 9:00 each night (which will not work for them since they eat early normally). I know we can do alternative dining (specialty restaurants, Windjammer, etc) but we all enjoy the dining room. At this point, my thought is to go to the dining room when we get on board to see if we can just add them to our reservation. Anyone done this and been successful or have any feedback? As far as the shows, I am thinking the best bet is to have them show up early for stand by seating for our shows- any other suggestions??

  5. We are scheduled to cruise next week (weather permitting). My hubby and son and I are in one cabin and I have done our online check-on and gotten our set sail pass. My college age daughter is in another cabin with a family friend. My daughter is NOT going to be able to join us, unfortunately. I am not asking about refund policy or anything like that, but wondering is there any reason I should go ahead and do her online check-in when I know she isn't going to be able to go? After searching CC, I have seen different advise on whether or not to say anything to RCI about her not coming or when to say something...any advise on that?

  6. We are trying to get a friend to cruise with us next month on a Royal Caribbean ship -she has never cruised before and is a widow who wants to be in a room by herself. When we price the cruise, it costs more if we put in 1 room for 1 person than if we say 1 room for 2 people. I am aware of the single supplement but if it is cheaper to put 2 people in the room, could she add a friend to the room and pay for both? The "friend" will probably not be able to come (95% sure), but will that be a problem if she doesn't show up? Any drawbacks to this idea?? I really don't understand why it is more for one person in a room than 2 people..

  7. Can anyone tell me which Royal ships have the single rooms (small ones only for 1 person) and how many each ship has? I know they are only on certain ships, and not many of them, but can't seem to find out where they are and the quantity on each ship. Thanks!

  8. I hope someone will have an update on major roadwork at Cruise Parking of Port Canaveral. I booked parking for 2 cars at Cruise Parking of Port Canaveral, 3520 N. Cocoa Blvd. for week of 11/2. I received confirmation mid July. Today, I went to their website to verifiy address/directions. The site now says "Temporarily Closed" due to major roadwork in front of their parking facility. It says Nov 1st is the earliest they may be able to reopen. I've sent them an email and am waiting for their response. I'm worried and may need a backup plan for parking. Does anyone know how the roadwork is going or heard from Cruise Parking regarding their reservations?

I emailed them and asked if they would be open for our upcoming cruise in late November and they said they would still be closed. I would look for a backup plan.
