SPRING Sale
Free Business Class Airfare & Special Fares
Expires April 30, 2024
2024-2026 Voyages
EXPIRES MAY 31, 2024
It looks like the sale has been extended and includes 2026 World cruises, but the WWC24 doesn't work for 2025-2026 voyages. Is there a different code?

Just wondering if Viking is planning for any passengers to join the cruise while on this new segment of the world cruise.

Right, not very well phrased on my part. That is what I meant -- a deal not to be passed on, especially if one has been to Africa. Incentives for a future cruise.

Must. Remember. Not. Retired. Yet.
It looks like the cost has just gone up for Jan. 9th sailing.

This is the wine list you can order from. Anywhere. There is a red, white, and sparkling wine of the day each day at lunch and dinner that’s is “free”. For example here is todays included red.
Are included wines listed on the wine menu, or are those all extra (for purchase by glass or bottle or available on SSBP)? -
We recently booked 2 cruises while onboard our Viking Cruise. As we have dealt with a TA in the past, the bookings were sent via email to her. In the past, she has given us $$ in the form of onboard credits for our next cruise plus some "points" that can only be used for hotel stays and must be used within 18 months. The points disappeared prior to our being able to use them in the past and we predict that may happen again for cruise that we just disembarked from and future cruises.
She claims that her company no longer offers OBC, but only "points" to be specifically used for hotels listed by the company that she works for. Is this this case for other large travel agencies?
We like her service, but travel points vs. OBC isn't great for us.

E- visas for India:
Just want to confirm that Canadians can now receive e-visas for India.
I spoke to a representive at GEN-visa on Monday and received an email with our e-visas for India this morning.

Janet - Affirmative, we started receiving them the day after we cancelled the WC.
Would you mind sending some of these promos our way? We are counting down the days until the WC, but are considering cancelling the next cruise, as our daughter wants us to come to France for Christmas 2023 to celebrate with her husband's family. We are considering a cruise in Europe prior to meeting up with them.
-
Just wondering if any Canadians are getting emails about promos. We have been on 4 Viking cruises and have 2 more booked, but have never received promo offers. I have signed up online for offers to no avail. The promo for one of our future cruises was posted by a member on cruise critic. Thank you!

Don't try the "coastal tour" which I did several years ago in Costa Rica. It basically consisted of a long bus ride to a banana plantation. I know more about bananas than I ever cared to. Very little coastal sightseeing. Besides the banana tour we went to a local flea market which had trinkets and baskets for sale. Totally a busted day.
Is this the tour you are referring to: Puntarenas Panorama ?

Some of our favourite meals were at the Chef's Table dining room. We also enjoyed the wine pairing and ambience. Looking forward to dining there again.
Manfredi's and the Restaurant were also very good.
Down to 114 days to embarking on the Neptune. Seems amazing that when we booked the cruise MVJ was showing over 700 days!

And a similar SMD23 offer for our Canadian neighbors at the following site:
We were able to book with this code from Canada. Booked a cruise from Barcelona to Istanbul (29 days), Sept 2023. DV1 for the same price as a V2 with SSP included.
Thanks to CC for the advanced information It is now also available on the Viking site

Love you CurlerRob!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I didn't even think about cancelling, getting a refund and rebooking at the much lower rate. Honestly though, I would leave everything as it is and would accept a room upgrade and the business air they're offering and call it a day but that's too easy for Viking.
We have 130 days to go, so according to the guest statement, Viking will charge $100 per person to cancel the trip and will hopefully refund the remaining amount.🤞🏻
I have travel insurance with Generali so I'm okay in that department thank goodness!
Just redid the math and by cancelling the trip altogether, rebooking with the promo code ANT22 and adding my discounts (past guest & future cruise certificate & e-check) the savings is $5318! Well that's a no brainer!! That's another trip!!!😜
Yes, I will absolutely act fast and call at 9am...
Stay tuned....
Is the ANT22 code just valid in the US? I get an error message when I try to book it from Canada even though the blue star appears.

See you on board the Neptune, not sure if you board in FLL or LA, we board in LA. If we don't meet anywhere on the ship it may be at the 3rd deck laundry as we are also DV6. Ha
We board in Fort Lauderdale if all goes as planned. What cabin are you in?
-
Thanks for the information on deck 3. It seems like we will enjoy our DV6 cabin 3065 for the 2022 WC.
All of your comments and photos are much appreciated.

If you are on or have been on a V2 or DV6 in the stern of one of the ocean ships, can you tell me if there is a walkway to the midship laundry on level 3 or do you need to go up or down a level to get past the lifeboats via stairs or elevators ?
Thanks

Negative on the WC. Due to a health issue, we cancelled the T/Atlantic in June and then the WC and UK/Scandinavia at the beginning of last month.
The repeat WC'ers are dropping like flies for the 22/23 WC.
Sorry to hear that. Perhaps it is why I haven't had responses from some people about the tour.

We booked a cruise in Dec. 2020 for Jan. 2023 with a guaranteed cabin and paid in full Nov. 15, 2021. We have not yet been assigned a cabin. The cruise has been sold out, with a few cabins popping up as being available, for most of the past year. We have been assured that we will have a cabin assigned prior to boarding.

Diana,
Tough decision to make, especially at this late date, I feel so sorry for you after all the preparation and anticipation. Wishing you safe travels home.
I note they have a few cabins open next year.
Hope that one of those cabins has our name on it! Still waiting for cabin to be assigned.

Thanks! We actually tried to do this before and were able to do so if we booked directly with the airlines (from the West Coast to UK). However, if we used Viking Air, they did not permit this. They said that these overnight connections were not part of the contract with the airlines. So it may depend on the specific itineraries, dates, times, and contracts which can and does change all the time these days.
We were also told by Viking Air that we could not book an overnight connection from the west coast of Canada to FLL. The inability to find a reasonable flight and the difficult timing issues with PCR tests resulted in the cancellation of our Panama cruise scheduled for Nov.

Hi Janet - I can't read the QR Code on my laptop, so not sure what info that contains. Since I don't have a cell phone, I have it saved on my laptop and will print when we get home.
I'm also expecting a few change with the flights between now and December.
Once our TA booked the flights, I noted the Business flights had doubled in cost. We are going to stay with Economy for now and check the upgrade price at the airport.
At this point there is fine balance between the desire to go on a cruise and managing all of the hurdles vs. jumping ship.
We used our passport to go out for dinner on Saturday with son, DIL and friends. It worked! I also printed a copy and my son verified that it also worked with his QR reader.

While a potential positive step, we await a decision from the US CDC as to what they consider fully vaccinated. If they only accept US approved vaccines, it still eliminated a large percentage of the World's population, many who have other WHO approved vaccines.
If the US only accepts FDA approved vaccines, I will be unable to enter the US come November, although at present I can fly in with a negative test. I also have a Provincial Vaccine Passport showing me as fully vaccinated.
There still seem to be challenges for all of us who want to cruise now. After spending 2 days getting my seats on the flights for the upcoming cruise, the ones from YVR to FLL were cancelled yesterday. The prices have gone up for all but the least desirable ones.
Also wondering if our BC vaccine passport shows which vaccine we had. Sure hope that the US CDC approves vaccines used in other parts of the world.

I phoned "air plus" yesterday morning and had the agent reserve our seats for the cruise that starts in 60 days. I also requested her to check on the cost of "premium" seats. She was not able to do this, but did tell me the cost for business, which I declined. Apparently, I need to contact the airline for upgrade to premium.
Just wondering how long it takes for the seat assignments show up on MVJ. I also checked the airline flights and the seats assigned still show up as available on the Air Canada site.
