My guess is to wait it out  and see if the cruise line will be forced to offer real time refunds in cash to people who want to opt to cancel.  I do not want all of my money sitting on a future cruise credit, in my case about 3k.

If I were on a ship and I purchased a future cruise credit it would only cost about $100 per person and final payments would be at my discretion.  I like to be in control of my own destiny.

Remember this, If the cruise lines cancels the cruise you should get all your money back in cash.  If you (the traveler) cancels the cruise you will lose money.  This Future Cruise Credit is BS.  They could have offered it earlier.  They want to stay in control of YOUR MONEY.  They act like they are doing you a favor (or are they?)

NOW THAT  THE GOVERNMENT IS INQUIRING AND GETTING INVOLVED AND NOW THAT THE CORONA VIRUS CONTINUES T0 ESCALATE WE MAY SEE SOME ACTION.  I SUGGEST WAITING IT OUT....what do you think?

I agree..maybe if enough people cancel and take the credit they will cancel the sail and then they have to give us cash refund right? We can wait it out til 48 hrs before right?

  2. Yes if you go with the $100 unlimited text and talk plan.... true for talk and text... but Data is limited and if you go over there are extra charges. They will text you when you’ve used up 80% of your data. Just make sure you deactivate any international plan you may have as you won’t need it if you are docking in a covered place as this plan would cover that.  Bottom line  Ithink it makes sense to keep phone in. Airplane mode and only use ATT designated networks while on board. Sailing Monday!

I have used to AT&T plan and there were no hidden charges. Paid the flat fee and had internet access with no problems the whole cruise.

I'm still debating whether I'm going to get it for my cruise leaving this Saturday (yay!) or if I'm going to completely unplug.

Edit: Also, I did not have to pay anything extra to connect to the Cellular at Sea on the ship. The AT&T plan is all you need.

So using the plan...no extra charges from the ship? (Norwegian is what I'm sailing)
