    Hello..

I read a review that stated a woman had issues using her curling iron in the cabin, that there wasn't enough power to use it?..the curling iron never warmed up for her, and it wasn't broken cause it worked fine when she got home.  Anyone else have this issue?

Yes, happened to me.  I was very upset on formal night.  May have overreacted, but there were tears 😂. This was on the Vista.

  2. It was a lot of stress to get this all done, but everything went fairly smoothly.  I will say IT WAS SO WORTH IT!  This was my favorite cruise of all time.  The lower capacity and the crew being so grateful (as well as passengers) made it so much fun!  I think I'll order the tests as a backup, just in case.

Who is "they" and what requirement? People here have reported a handful of states giving out the proctored tests for free but otherwise they are available by prescription online (by answering the online questions about symptoms, exposure, travel, etc.) only.  Any test you buy at a retailer is not going to be monitored and not going to provide the documentation you need to board a cruise.

Dallas Guy, I'm agreeing with you.  Ray98 said it was no big deal if their appointment was cancelled because he could just pick up a test.  I have never heard that there was a place you could pick up the test with the EMED...only online.  I have taken the at-home test just to alleviate some of the test anxiety I had, but knew it wouldn't be accepted by Carnival (Carnival is the "they" and it's their requirement).

I really don't see the big deal.  We booked our appointment about 10 days out for CVS.  We drove there and had results in 15 minutes.  I also knew if the appointment was cancelled I could pick up the at home tests.  Not really even worth mentioning in the grand scheme of things.

Where are the at home tests they require available in stores?  I've only seen them online.  Which means to be safe I'd have to book with CVS and if it got cancelled already have the test at home with me.  My fiancé had his test cancelled at CVS.  Luckily we were able to find another location.  I'm not taking any chances and ordering the at home tests as a backup.

  5. I was on this cruise.  It was so much fun.  I heard about some rude passengers, but I didn't experience that at any time.  We all wore masks when required (for the most part) and people weren't upset about it.  A bit spoiled by the number of people on board.  It was amazing on the Serenity Deck.  Hot tubs and pools were still full, however.

I have 4 cruises scheduled before end of year.  Just told the wife about this thread and she is cancelling all 4 as we cannot get the test and still make it to the boat.  We dont have smart phones so I would have to have the results in 48 hours and there is just no way the labs can do that.

It says you can take an antigen test (rapid test).  That means you can get the results very fast.

  7. Like so many others, I have a lot of OBC.  I'd like to wait to book an excursion until I'm on the ship, but don't want to miss out on the excursion of choice.  What has been your experience?  Are there a lot left available after boarding or should I just book the excursion now and spend the money elsewhere?  I have $1000 to spend...don't get me wrong, I can spend that much, but I'd like to use it for excursions, as well, if possible, lol.

  8. I work at the biggest high school in the state.  We want to stay open and wear our masks all day every day.  I hated it at first, but I don't even notice it now.  Truly not a big deal.  I've had COVID and still wear a mask.  Fingers crossed we can cruise in February!

No cruise will sail until June 2021 at the earliest. Bank it!

Why would you say that?  Even as the numbers are rising casinos are open, hotels are open, bars are open.  At some point, everything will open so I'm not sure why cruising wouldn't open.  States heavily dependent on travel are struggling and at some point the economy will win over people. I'm not saying that is right or wrong...believe me, I thought my BF was going to die of COVID and I was very sick, so it's not something I take lightly.  I also am aware that humans only have so much patience and the economy can only take so much.

Well it's good to know that I don't have to wear a mask while eating 🙂

Or while walking outside...it's only inside businesses that you need to wear them.

    From the Miami Herald.

Don’t forget your mask if you’re visiting the Florida Keys.

It’s now a law to cover both your nose and mouth with some type of facial covering when inside a bar, restaurant or other business with a roof.

I called my PVP and was able to rebook with no out of pocket costs.  Funds from my cancelled cruise were moved to the new one, and since the new one is a little more expensive, I have a balance due on the final payment date.

My invoice now shows $800 in OBC ($200 new plus $600 from cancelled cruise), though it took a day for them to have the $600 OBC applied and showing in the invoice.

My PVP just switched our cruise.  On the website it still shows the old cruise (paid in full) and the new cruise.  It says my deposit is due in 336 hours.  So, do you think they will automatically move the money over to the new cruise eventually?  I'm sure my PVP is crazy busy, so I don't want to bother her...besides I have 336 hours before the reservation goes away :).  Thank you!

  12. I spoke with my PVP and she doesn't think the quarantine will happen again.  When I thought about it, I thought, she may be right.  At the time they were quarantining, they only had a few cases in the US.  It's everywhere now.  Granted, we may not be able to get on an airplane, but again, this thing is way more widespread than originally thought.  That being said, my boyfriend and I have already had COVID-19 so we are so excited and hopeful that this will happen.  We are (fingers crossed) sailing out of Galveston on the Vista on June 27th!  I agree with what Viscus said...it will be a very clean ship and people will be washing their hands way more than normal.
