  1. Just letting you know, the flight arrived early (around 12:30). I checked in before 2 and was on board a few minutes after 2.  There were still others trickling in and the gangway was not pulled at 2.

It worked out but it was nerve wracking and risky, not for the faint of heart.

  2. Will have headphones with a mic, trying to use our included FAS minutes because they say Zoom should work without premium (https://www.ncl.com/onboard-packages/internet-packages).   Was considering leaving the laptop at home if ship computers were a free option, but can't find any information about this online.  Also thought the connection might be better in the cafe.

This is the ship internet cafe:

Those cubbies look nice and maybe private.

  3. Do you have to pay extra to use the computers in the internet cafe on top of the wifi package price?  Would the internet cafe be a good place to conduct a Zoom meeting? Could you even get to Zoom on those machines?   Would others be disturbed by you talking to your computer? Is there much background noise in there?  Is it a busy place or relatively quiet?

First post. I can confirm you can book Taste, Savor and Tropicana for the Getaway for March 7th trip. I did this 4 weeks ago. And yes you can complete the 'transaction', recieve an email confirmation and it shows up on the vacation summary. Times I booked were 530, 730 and 830.

Me too, they show up on my boarding pass along with specialty dining and shows.

You can really do anything on the island-- you are pretty much in the middle. My suggestion, especially if it is your first time to Bermuda, would be to take a Blue Flag taxi tour (specially licensed drivers) for a 3-4 jaunt around the island so you can see a good portion of it. There is a LOT more to Bermuda than downtown Hamilton.

How much are Blue Flag tours?

  6. I called NCL and talked to 3 people before they elevated me to a supervisor.  The supervisor ensured me that I would be okay if I board before 3 since my online check-in is done.  I asked her to make a note of the communication in my file.

Sailaway, couldn't come in the day before due to work.  We're already pushing it and need to take a Zoom call onboard.

  7. SailingAway12.  Thank you! This is the type of experience I was looking for.  Not all the warnings, although I do believe them.

But my flight is scheduled to arrive at 12:56.
From tracking it on flightaware, it arrives anywhere from 12:24 to 1:41.  If it is going to be 1:41, I will know before I leave because the departure would have been delayed.  If the departure is delayed, game over.  I won't board the flight.  I will cancel the flight and the cruise.

Walking through the airport takes 15 minutes.  A taxi to the port takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes.  It won't be rush hour, so no reason to expect it to take much longer than that as 45 minutes is the rush hour estimate.  So, there is a slim chance that I will make it by 2 and I am pretty confident that I will make it by 3 (assuming I boarded the flight because it left on time).   So, I have to get clarity from NCL around their policy, if it is 1 hour prior to departure I should be okay.  If it is 2 hours prior to departure, chances are slim.  We do have family at the departure port, so we don't have to pay for hotel or another flight.   The earlier flight is very expensive for us.

  8. I took the insurance when they offered it when I booked. It wasn't expensive since the cruise was free.    I didn't really understand it.  I paid only paid for taxes and fees and FAS gratuities.  Will I get those back with or without the insurance if I miss it? If not, I'd hope to get back %75 of that with the insurance if I call and cancel before they sail.

The one hour before gives me a whole extra hour and I'm gonna need it.  I just hope they honor their policy. Everyone says check-in time is when you arrive not when you board, right? So, if check-in time ends at 2, they must expect a few people to board a bit after that.

I'm not checking luggage.  I understand I might miss it and I don't want to take it bad enough to purchase an earlier flight.

Anyway, I will report back on what happens.

  9. Thanks for the input, but I was hoping to hear from someone who may have arrived later.  I understand most try to arrive as early as possible.  It was a 'free' cruise and I would pay more to change my flight than the cruise cost.  So, if I miss it, I miss it.  I hope I don't, but changing my flight doesn't work for me. I did complete online check-in and I purchased NCL cancel for any reason insurance.  If the flight is delayed, I will call and cancel immediately, although I have been tracking the flight and it arrives early more often than it arrives on-time or late, so probability is on my side.  Thanks all.

  10. Has anyone ever checked-in after the latest check-in time?  Like 2:30 for a 4 pm sail time.

    Their website says:

    Final Boarding Time:
In order to facilitate the embarkation process, the processing of your eDocs, and to comply with new government regulations governing departure manifest, all guests are required to complete check-in at the cruise terminal and be onboard the ship no later than one hour prior to the departure time noted on their cruise documents or they will not be permitted to sail

This leads me to think that I should be able to board up to a few minutes before 3 and that they will pull the bridge at 3, but the last check-in time is 1:30 to 2.

I didn't get all the warnings about a booking a flight the day before and they don't tell you your check-in time when you book.  So, I booked a dangerously close flight time.

Has anyone had success checking-in a bit after the last check-in time?
