  1. I have friends who need to drive to Copenhagen prior to the cruise and will have 3 days pre cruise and then 9 days on the cruise to park. I think they will park at the port during the cruise but would it be possible to park earlier then the cruise ?

If that’s not an option, would you be able to suggest an affordable safe parking spot for the 12 days ?

  2. Well that's weird - I don't see the June 16th sailing in that list. Is it possible that sailing is actually going to Stockholm proper? It's still listed on the Port of Stockholm website as docking in Nynashamn. Guess I'm going to have to call the Shore Excursions people.

Did you receive this information via email from NCL?

Same thing for the June 25th sailing. The port website still says we’re docking in Nynäshamn. But I see that our itinerary is slightly different then the one listed above. They may not have gotten to ours yet and will get the notice later.

  3. I emailed Guest Relations about this because my biggest issue with this is that the excursions they show on My NCL that are available for booking are clearly for if you dock in Stockholm. The excursions for Nynashamn are different. Of course, they were clueless, saying you dock in Stockholm and here's the number if you want to book an excursion. They completely missed the point that the Port of Stockholm website shows us docking in Nynashamn and they are not giving us the correct excursion options.

    So frustrating!

Same here. I just called and was told that if I booked an excursion they would get me to where I need to be to get on the booked excursion. I doubt that will happen but it is frustrating. From what I can see now , they don’t offer the excursion that gives you free time in Stockholm which is what I would want. I guess we’ll wait until we get on board to book or just do a transfer on the day of. I’m hoping they extend our port time if we are in Nynäshamn.

  4. Its located out in Hvidovre and its a nice quiet neighbourhood and its only 10 minutes away from the central station with S-train line A towards Hundige or Solrød Strand.

In the weekend, public holidays and late evening the direction is my home town Køge :)

Just don't take Line E to Køge as it doesn't stop at Åmarken.

Thank you so much. You're the best!!

We've booked it ... now only have to wait until next June to get there lol lots of time to plan our 4 days on Copenhagen pre cruise.

  5. The one near Frederiksberg public pool is very safe but I don't know of construction of the Aksel Møllers Have metro station will create any noise issues.

It's the grey area just north of your circle.

The one in Brønshøj is also safe but if you take a evening walk just stay away from the ghetto area west of the lakes (gadelandet, Koppelvænget etc etc) and you will be fine.

Only problem as I see is that its a little bit outside of the downtown area and the nearest stations at Vanløse is a good walking distance away.

There is of course busses but then I need a street name to tell how to use the busses.

From what I can see bus 22 can get you to and from Vanløse metro and S-train station to the bus stop at Bjernedevej just visible on the map.

Thank you so much ... that's what I was thinking about being away from downtown. The one in Fredericksburg is the most expensive but seemed the most convenient for us.

  6. .................. or make it an interesting round trip by taking the ferry from the pier adjacent to the Naples cruise terminal to Sorrento ( it's also quicker), up the hill from Sorrento harbour to town by elevator or little shuttlebus, then the Circumvesuviana train back to Naples, stopping off at Pompeii and/or Herculaneum on the way. Though depending on your back-on-board time, fitting in all three won't give you long at any of them.

    JB :)

Would love to visit Herculaneum but like the idea of taking a ferry to Sorrento and train back to Naples. We are in Naples 8AM to 2PM. Do you think that would be enough time? How easy is it to get to the pier from the cruise terminal?

  7. Yes, if there is any glitch--late arrival, long wait for luggage, you may get stuck in rush hour traffic (I assumed they were arriving Mon through Fri). Encourage them to order ExecuCar!

I'll try to convince them about the car if not, they'll probably go with the shuttle instead of the cab.

Thank you very much for your help.

  8. The advantage of the ExecuCar is that is there is a problem with the freeways--there will be no extra charge. What time of day will your parents be landing at LAX? If after 9 AM and before 2 PM, they probably won't run into any traffic problems--but if it is between 3 PM and 7 PM they will be in rush hour traffic that can be very slow.

They'll be coming in at 1:45PM but would take a while before they get them baggage so it may be 3PM before they get to leave.

  9. My parents and aunt and uncle are going coming in to LAX and staying at the Crowne Plaza in San Pedro for two nights before their cruise on the Island Princess. I was going to tell them to use a shuttle from LAX but since there is 4 of them and a shuttle would be 68$, I'm now thinking that a cab may be cheaper and faster. I checked on ExecuCar and they want 55$ so that may be better but I'm not sure how my parents feel of booking this online. Would a cab be much more than 55$?

  10. You are correct, that would the one that departs Victoria at 9:30 am and operates during the cruise season.

Thanks for the info...we are only cruising in Sep 2012 so have plenty of time for planning. The bus directly from Victoria seems like our best option but we are only cruising out of Vancouver on Sep 18th so it may not be available then since it's the end of the cruising season. I'll definately be looking into it once we get closer to our cruising date.

    Thanks again...

  11. Thank you Sylvie and Yvon. I was curious when I saw you were from New Brunswick, I did a little digging on your roll call post for your Glory B2B I see your from Moncton, my home town. I left almost 20 years ago, all my family is still there and I was hoping to go back after my retirement but now with Tracy starting her career it will probably be another 20 years or so. Oh well, c'est la vie. Enjoy your upcoming cruises. Mike

We've been in Moncton for a little over 8 years and we love it. We are originally from Bathurst. Good Luck to Tracy on her new career and it's great that she is able to cruise with you in January since her training only starts in February. Enjoy your cruise planning...your 10 year plan looks great.:D
