Good to know. We're in 9305 in September.
We preferred Blu over Luminae.

Celebrity has a sanitation procedure that has been rated one of the highest by the CDC. So the spread of most everything aboard is laid at the feet of our fellow passengers and their poor habits and not following proper protocols.
As I stated earlier, stuff happens:

Ordering off the MDR menu is not easy logistically because of the distance to Luminae on Edge. But perhaps they could expand the Luminae menu to compensate for the limited choices.
Yes, that is what we figured as well. Blu was a better choice for us because they were able to offer items from MDR more effectively.

In addition, you can not really fault Celebrity Cruise Line for your becoming ill on their ships. They have one of the highest sanitary scores in the industry all in the high 90's and 100's. Try the CDC link https://wwwn.cdc.gov/inspectionQueryTool/InspectionResults.aspx
Actually, their sanitation history has absolutely no bearing on whether someone gets sick or not now. Stuff happens. Their sanitation procedure needs to be improved upon on the Edge.
Please don’t tell me who I can and cannot fault.

Suggestion: Celebrity figure out a way for Luminae passengers to be able to order off MDR menu, as has been the case on every ship until now.

Suite guests can eat anywhere they wish including Blu

I totally agree! We actually ate at Blu instead because they were much more flexible in doing this.

How do you know what they did before they walked to the Oceanview Café? I wash my hands and I assume that others do as well and we don't need to stop at the washing trough at the entrance.
I happen to know because they got on the elevator with me after leaving the casino. It was casino-elevator-food.

Purell and similar anti-infection lotions are not entirely effective. Maybe they help a bit. Thorough hand washing with soap and water is the most effective- just ask any medical professional or surgeon.
I totally agree. Unfortunately, most of the soap dispensers on Edge were inoperable. People tried a few of them, no soap was dispensed so they just walked away.

Why is everyone assuming that people are not washing their hands before they go to the Oceanview Café? Don't they wash their hands before they eat at all of the other venues?
Because you can literally see them walking in without washing their hands.

Just back from the 12/1 three-day preview:
- We'd love to see an Asian stir fry station in the buffet. We really missed that.
- We liked the handwashing sinks in Oceanview Cafe and used them every time, but the vast majority of people didn't. I think the ship needs to add Purell stations up there, or there's going to be a noro outbreak. Too many people are skipping handwashing.
- People shouldn't be allowed to have drinks in the pool. Empty glasses and aluminum cans floating in the pool is gross.
- Eden is strange. Not our cup of tea, but maybe others will enjoy it.
All in all, we loved the ship!
I actually did get sick, more than likely from the limited use of washing stations. I was in bed all day of day 3 and have been in bed all day today too.

All, if you followed along on my Live thread, you know we loved our 12/1 cruise on the Edge. But there is one thing that really concerns me. The handwashing stations in Oceanview Cafe aren't going to cut it. The vast majority of people skipped handwashing entirely, and there are no Purell dispensers before you enter. It's either use the handwashing sinks or nothing. My husband and I liked the sinks -- better for our skin than using so much Purell -- and we washed our hands every time. But, as I said, A LOT of people didn't. We'd like to see Purell stands placed there in addition to the sinks. That way, maybe people would use one of the two.
I became quite ill on day 3 and had concerns about the very same thing. Passengers are not washing their hands before entering Ocean View.
