  1. We'll be heading to Barcelona a few days before boarding a cruise and am wondering what are the must see items for those who have never been there? We're travelling with 2 toddlers and are thinking about taking transit. We won't be able to get to everything cause everything takes a very long time with our two so highlights of things that are not to be missed will be great!

We took the bus and ended up walking because it would take a long time to come around and when it did it would be full. Not sure if maybe they didn't have enough buses, but it was a waste of time to wait for a next bus that was also full. Then again that may have been that day and not necessarily what happens every day. It all depends how many ships are in port.

do you remember how long of a walk it is?

We're just back from a land trip to Valencia. Lovely, lovely old town with several beautiful churches. (If you like beautiful interiors, the San Nicolas Church is nicknamed the Valencian Sistine chapel). There is a long park that connects the old town to the new City of Arts and Sciences with several contemporary looking museums designed by Calavatra.

And if you like paella, Casa Carmela is one of the best paella restaurants in the city. It is near the beach area of the city.

Do you know if it is walkable from the cruise port?

  4. Hi all, wondering what the must see sights are in Messina and Genoa are for a 1 day stop. Is it possible to walk to things from the port? We'll be travelling with 2 toddlers therefore everything takes twice as long... Any tips on getting around and advice would be great. Thanks!
