Hello, since I found no related info in the search heres my questions
1. We have these vaccine certificates here, they are basically a pdf we can have in our phones/printed, will ncl be ok with these?
2. What does ncl check about these? it does have the QR but it can only be read by our country's systems, it cannot be validated online unfortunately
3. These do not have any info linking them to our passports, is it still ok?
4. I travel with a Hungarian passport, however I do live in Uruguay, this will be an issue?
For reference we are taking the NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY
MAY 1 from MIAMI, FLORIDA, US
Thanks !

(Revisiting my old thread) So, now that it's been over a year, are you still booked? I think I might have cried when having to rebook or cancel such a fantastic itinerary.
Hope you're doing well.-T
No unfortunately that cruise was cancelled as well, right now I have the fcc just sitting there. Need to see what ill book, aiming for the end of this year

Where were these cruises on the Norwegian Star, Norwegian Spirit, and Norwegian Dawn that were cancelled through March going? Were they mostly Caribbean?
Mine were doing a Europe cruise then a transatlantic from Portugal to Argentina

You already got the 25% bonus when you opted for the FCC initially.
True, but that doesnt matter.
If I book another cruise, make all sort of reservations, ask for the time off and prepare our schedule for a vacation AND ncl then decides to cancel expecting a extra 25% is totally reasonable, moreover if I dont even have the option for a refund now.

Methinks that a change from 25% to 10% incentive will cause a LOT more people to choose refund.
Probably a lot of people ... like me... paid for these cruises with FCC already. I was expecting the extra 25% bonus, freaking cheap ncl ...

Just send em an email, they'll most likely extend them.
I do agree however that they should already just mass update the close to expire ones to have at least an added year...

Dang well this is bad news...

There is zero chance this will sail. Don’t make a final payment - cancel now while you can still get your deposit back.
I used FCC to reserve it anyway, might as well let em cancel for me and get 25% extra

Interesting info

I have 2 cruises coming up. a 11 day one in europe next November and a Transatlantic in December. So far NCL tells me they are a go. I had em push the final payment as back as possible, I dont want to give more money to ncl to end up unable to use it ... again.
So atm playing the waiting game...

At this point, the FCC's are also on my kids' accounts and this isn't fair either. Who knows when they will be able to cruise again with school schedules and one going to college? The money should go back to my account only.
This is absolutely true too. FCC should go 100% to the payor account, they way they handle is is ****.

The whole point of the muster is to go to where you have to go so you know...
-
I still got my extra points, it'd be a shame if they remove them 🤔
Got to gold with em and ill get to plat if my next Nov cruises are cancelled ....
-
Well this sucks, I guess we all just have to get the virus eventually ...

Ok so I had a cruise in April and it got cancelled. Got FCC and with the extra 20% reserved a cruise for November. If the November cruise gets cancelled too do I at least get a extra 25% bonus or nothing. Guess getting a refund now is out of the question....
-
This is great for me, I have 2 cruises "coming up" next November and didnt want to pay the final payment yet due next month. Lets see how it goes. I dont see the change in my account yet however...

If they expand the "penny pinching" too much, the customers will know it and wont cruise. As it is they are struggling to get people, once it restarts I doubt we see any of that. Later on, then yes maybe they could try something, but hope not !!
-
At least they are docked, most are just at sea anchored

My husband and I and a female teacher friend did the Hawaiian Islands on Pride of America in an inside cabin.
Sounds like a lot of fun for your husband 😏

Inside for 3 is fine IF you dont plan to spend a lot of time there. Showers and sleep, nothing else !

This graphic shows why. An infected person without a mask is a serious risk to all around. A mask only on the healthy person is a poor mitigation of the risk. Just TALKING spreads the virus around in a huge cloud. And new evidence (on ABC News 2 nights ago) shows micro droplets remain in the air for a very long time.
Not all masks are born the same. Cloth masks, which are the most popular are pretty useless. Have everyone with n95 or higher and yes, then ud get some safety...

Covid 19 is not like any virus the United States has ever had to deal with. Yes, viruses of many strains have
been around forever but none of them have impacted our country (and the world) like this one. Allowing
people to sit indoors at a restaurant or movie theatre for a hour or so and then go home is workable even
if this virus is still infecting people. Putting even a reduced amount of people inside a cruise ship for seven
days is a world of diffierence...and the CDC knows it.
Actually, the huge impact it has had is due to the lockdown measures. Its nothing special, % wise the deaths are very low and the contagion rate isnt huge either. Either we keep on lockdown forever or let the virus run its course, which is gonna happen anyway. Going to ban ALL activities forever? not talking about just cruises here

If masks and social distancing are still a requirment then the pandemic has not been
contained. I would be shocked if the CDC lifts it's 'No-Sail' order on July 24th if the
virus is still active. Once there is a vaccine and mass innoculations where the CDC
feels like this virus has been eraticated, only then will they allow cruises from the USA
to resume.
The virus will be around forever, even if a vaccine happens. If thats the case the CDC might as well close cruising forever
