  1. We are booking this cruise for next spring and I was investigating the specialty restaurants.  The NCL website says the East Meets West and Sushi are not available and I don't see them listed on your daily.  Do you know if these are just temporarily closed or has something replaced them?  Excited to follow along as we start our planning!

  2. Good feedback.  We are also looking at Norway - have done the lower half before, but want to get to the North Cape.  There are so many "small" towns that I was concerned with what we would really be doing in all of those places.  We like nature, hikes, and waterfalls, but didn't know if that is all we would experience for 2 weeks and be "a little much".  There is another cruise line that just hits the bigger, more standard ports up to Honningsvag that we are debating and would allow us more time on the front end for a few days on land.

We will be getting on the ship as you are getting off.

    For comparison for you:

I just purchased airfare from Southwest into Hobby, they are having a great sale through today. We are also coming in 2 days early. We are in Denver, so December and Southwest are not exactly compatible..

We have High Rollers by Shugg booked for transportation from the airport, hotel to port, and then port to hotel. We usually prefer Lyft but our children are flying in at different times and High Rollers was willing to make several pickups and I can pay for it all in one transaction. She was very reasonable too.

We are booked at the Harbor House

I cannot recommend any of it as this will be our first time in Galveston. But Erica of High Rollers is getting rave reviews on the Royal Caribbean Galveston board.  And the Harbor House looks like fun, so we booked it.

We have a noon flight out of Bush.  We plan to walk off with luggage as soon as we can.  I have heard Lyft rates can be crazy going from the port to the airports.  Have you seen that?  Is it hard to get a ride at that time?

Just boarded Azamara Journey in Barcelona which was very efficient even without docs an tags. Luggage was tagged upon arrival and whole process took less then 15 minutes. We are in a Club Continent Cub Suite this cruise.

Ship looks great, cheerful crew and we are looking forward to night’s fresh seafood buffet extravaganza. One change was there was no muster drill brief upon embarking. We are to report to Discoveries for a Muster Drill at 5:00.

We have been told there are only 500 guest on board.

Barcelona was really bustling with the Spanish Gran Prix weekend a a couple of large concerts.

Looking forward to our Spain Intensive followed by a France Intensive.

    Ahoy! Life is good.🛳🍾

Can you tell us who the CD, Hotel Manager, and Captain are on Journey currently?  We board in Amsterdam in at the end of the month for the Iceland Intensive. The Spain intensive is also high on our list, so looking forward to following along!  Have a wonderful time!

  5. Has anyone experienced the tendering process in the last year or so?  If you are an independent traveler, do you have to wait for all ships excursions to get off first before they will allow independents off?  I’m looking at a tour, but would need to be on an early tender to make it.  If they hold me for 45 min or more waiting for all of their tours to get off, I won’t make it.   Thanks!

  6. I know they have been making progress with the website and our accounts, but do we still think the pricing seems off?  I was looking at a cruise at the end of this year and it went from $1,800 per person before the website change to $5,600 per person now.  That just seems really odd to have that big of a leap.

Thank you!  Can you post where to find this?  They are going to be posting throughout the next 14 days, so I’d like to be able to check in to the site.

    Just got the following e-mail...

    Dear Guest,

We look forward to welcoming you aboard Celebrity Edge® for your 7-Night Western Caribbean cruise sailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Before we depart, we have some important information to share. Celebrity Cruises has been working closely with health and government authorities, in each country we sail from, to outline a clear path for cruising with new health and safety measures. As we thoughtfully plan our return to service, we are evaluating all current itineraries and the status of travel conditions around the world.

In an abundance of caution, to keep our guests and crew healthy at sea, we will require curated tours in Mexico for our June 26 sailing on Celebrity Edge. Based on the most recent travel advisory and vaccination rates in Mexico, we have reevaluated On Your Own Tours and instead will require Celebrity curated tours. Curated tours can be booked through Cruise Planner or the Celebrity Cruises app. We will continuously evaluate these requirements and provide updates as they evolve.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these unique circumstances. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Celebrity Cruises at 1-844-418-6824 in North America or (316) 554-5961 worldwide. We look forward to welcoming you aboard soon for an amazing Celebrity Cruises vacation.

    Sincerely,

    Celebrity Cruises

Interesting change of events.  I wonder if you can at least get off the ship and wander the shops are restaurants at the port and not actually go out the other side?  We had planned to walk downtown on our July 10th cruise, but that looks like it might be in jeopardy.

  9. I'm trying to understand how this Simply Sail rate works for the suites on the Edge.  We are Elite status, so we have the happy hour in the evening and enough wi-fi for the week.  We don't need any beverage package.  For us, it seems to work just fine for us to pay the cruise only rate plus the gratuities.  So, is it correct that we will still have access to the retreat with no problem?  It sounds like there are drinks and food there throughout the day that just being in a suite gets us access to?  We have been away from Celebrity for awhile, so I haven't kept up with this new class of category.  Looking forward to coming back though!

  10. First time on NCL and I'm reading on the website that dinners sound pretty casual.  On the POA, do most tend to wear shorts around the ship in the evening or docker type pants for men?  I know there is one dressier restaurant that we will not do.  Probably the main dining room and a few alternatives will be our routine.  Thanks!

  11. Just got back from the Basel to Amsterdam cruise. We went to Lucerne on our own and then took the train to Basel, so might not be able to help with the Viking itinerary specifically in Lucern, but happy to help if I can.

  12. There used to be a list of all the upcoming AzAmazing Evening events on the Azamara webpage, but I can't find it. I also don't see anything listed on the particular cruise we are looking at. Does anyone have a link to this list? We are considering the 7 day Nov 20th on Quest with an overnight in Havana. Thanks!

  13. I am doing a 3 night cruise on Enchantment and plan on doing the self-assist at departure. Being such a short cruise, I imagine most of the ship will be doing the same. Does anyone have recent experience on approximate time self-assist can get off the ship and how the flow works with that many people using it? I need to book flights home from the MIA airport. Thanks!
