We both had wifi. A Samsung and an iPhone both on the same at&t plan. At each port we got great service except for Victoria. For some reason the iPhone was fine and the Samsung struggled.
We usually got great 5g for at least an hour after leaving each port.
The wifi on ship uses different satellite when up in Alaska as compared to the Caribbean. It can be more Inconsistent.
It really depends what you want to use it for. The iPhone was always able to text and search the internet. The Samsung had a much harder time uploading pics to CC.
In Alaska I would not get it for streaming YouTube but works great for texting on iPhone. I rarely text with the Samsung so I am not sure about it.
Thanks for taking the time waiting this detailed response. I think for the first time in a while I'll go without the WiFi plan.

To you who had wifi on this cruise: Do you think it was a good value? Or do you think cell service at the ports would be just as good?

We just dropped our luggage off at the luggage room at the hotel.
Thanks. I was hoping that would be the answer.

To those who just got off this cruise and are going to a hotel: What did you do with your luggage between disembarkation and check in at your hotel?

Not sure what your asking.. Number boarded? Someone mentioned 3,9xx but not an official. I would be really surprised to see Ovation sailing at much less than capacity from now on. So many on here we were not able to up to a GS! 😆
I was wondering about a discussion board on Cruise Critic. I wasn't clear in my question. I have since found one. Thanks for responding.

Looking forward to your reports! We're on the June 24th sailing. Please report on traffic going to the port. Safe travels!
We are on the June 24th sailing as well. Have you found a board for that cruise?

I shoot with a GoPro Hero 6 in movie mode and then view the movie frame to extract the picture I want.
Did you do any post processing? I use a different company's camera and my underwater videos all look faded.

Maybe the travel agents are busy. I don't know. What is your experience when contacting your agent about booking a cruise? How long between the time you contact the agent and the time you get a response? I'm trying to decide if I need to find another agent.

Great information. Thank you. We will wait for the 12:00 message to see if they've changed again and then leave. I called the hotel and they were able to reinstate my reservation.
We had this same thing with MSC when our cruise to Cuba was cancelled by the government. They would give some information and then would change the information a couple of times. This cruise on Seaside hopefully leaving tomorrow is a replacement for that cruise since they wouldn't refund our money.

I am currently is this situation: I'm sitting in Gainesville, Florida wondering should I attempt the drive to Miami? Most of the gas stations up here do not have gas. I cannot make it to Miami on one tank full. I just cancelled my hotel reservation because I had been notified by MSC that Seaside would not be leaving Saturday on the cruise. I know that it's difficult for MSC to make decisions but there has to be many more like me who do not know whether they should go or not.

Hurricane Dorian Update

Update: August 30, 2019 9:30 am (EST):
Hurricane Dorian Update:
As the safety and security of our guests and crew is MSC Cruises’ top priority, we are closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian, which could have an impact on two of our scheduled Caribbean cruises departing from Miami.
MSC Seaside is currently scheduled to depart PortMiami, tomorrow, Saturday, August 31 and MSC Armonia is currently scheduled to depart PortMiami on Monday, September 2.While at this time neither of these cruises have been cancelled, guests scheduled to embark on either ship are encouraged to check this page regularly for updates. MSC Cruises will update itinerary details for both ships upon receiving information related to the status of PortMiami.
Please note, as Hurricane Dorian approaches, the MSC Cruises USA office will have limited staff. We encourage you to please check this web site for all updates, rather than calling our contact center.
MSC Cruises’ next update will be at 12 pm on August 30. -
Hurricane Dorian Update
8/29/2019
Update: August 29, 2019 6pm (EST):
Hurricane Dorian Update:
As the safety and security of our guests and crew is MSC Cruises’ top priority, we are closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian.
The U.S. Coast Guard has just informed that PortMiami may be closed as early as tomorrow. Therefore, MSC Seaside is planning to return to PortMiami tomorrow, Friday, August 30 at 8:00 AM ET. At this time, current guests on board MSC Seaside will have the option of disembarking if they choose. Alternatively, guests are being offered the option of staying on board. MSC Seaside will be required to depart before PortMiami closes. MSC Seaside will sail to a safe area and return once the port re-opens.
For guests currently booked on MSC Seaside, departing on Saturday, August 31, and those currently booked on MSC Armonia, departing on Monday, Sept. 2, we will provide an update on the sailings at noon tomorrow. We encourage guests to continue to monitor our web site for updates. -
I was thinking about this this morning. Every picture of the Seaside docked in port shows the starboard side dockside. I'm thinking that the next time I book a balcony it will be on the port side. That way while at dock you can sit on your balcony and watch the harbor.

We were on the Rotterdam in January. We didn't notice any of what you're describing. That cruise made me decide that Holland America was our kind of cruise line.

That is what we've done on previous cruises. We bought a wireless router to use on future cruises which will allow us to use all our devices simultaneously on one account. Found a YouTube video explaining how it's done.
