We got off the Sun on Saturday and I can categorically state you can help yourself to tea, coffee and water in the Eatery.

We always make our own tea as the waiters can’t grasp we Brits want our COLD milk put in separately once the tea has had time to brew 🙄.

We also asked for a water kettle in our cabin and our steward happily obliged, together with a selection of teas and a cup & saucer.👌

Thanks for the clarification about the Eatery !!!

Do you notice the availability of Oatmeal for breakfast ??

There are 3 decks to the MDR. The first night we tried deck 6 and the lines were long. We went to deck 7 and got in relatively quickly (maybe 10min). Last night we tried Deck 8 at about 720. We waited maybe 15min total, but 10min of those were because no one was manning the station to seat people.

My advice is, if there is a line on one deck, just go to one of the other decks.

But even on our first night and deck 6, the line seemed to move quickly.

Did you try the Eartery ??

I am an enrichment speaker for Princess, recently assigned to Sun for the 18 February sailing. They are flying me to Rome next week... so there are a LOT of "someones" at Corporate HQ that are at least somewhat certain that the sun will sail on the 18.

You had toilet & shower issues for several days....thats tough.  Did you report it?

    Were you offered any compensation?

We didn't have water one morning on our last cruise, called Cust Serv. reported it nicely.....

Later we were called & offered $200 each for the inconvenience.

Its in our credit next time we book a cruise.

Just wondering if you were offered anything?

Yes, we reported it to Cust Ser/Room Steward and the Captain !!  ( saw him walking around ) Offered 15% on a future cruise.

  6. Just off the Ruby's 15 day Panama Canal crusie -- first after their 3 week dry/wet dock. The ship was clean and new paint all over. The crew was VERY happy to see paying customers again.

We had a toilet and shower issues for several days, all were resolved. The ship lost all wireless conductivity ( no Medallion sevice ) for 1.5 days in the beginning. Was a mess.

All new chairs and tables in the cabins and all public areas.

Horizon Court/Caribe Cafe have new carpet. No changes to the buffet. They did have everyother night themed dining ( Bavarian, Italian etc ) which was held in the Caribe Cafe separate from the Horizon buffet. The Horizon dinner started at 5:30 -- theme buffet at 6:00. The coffee service has changed -- no more coffee syrup mixed with hot water -- now have large coffee brewing stations -- one regular/ one decaf. Coffee was a big improvement. These are located at either end of the seating area's beverage station. Passengers are no long welcome in these areas -- after you are seated, you will be provided a beverage. Also, in the am, there is no longer roving servers with juice and coffee.

Casino has new carpet and comfy seats.

    The shows were so-so.

The captain kept us well informed about weather and other items.

During tendering in Cabo, you could just see the patch on the hull's aft port side.

    Overall had a great time.

Well then I'm stumped too. I'd be calling Princess as painful as that is.

Talked to my vacation planner  -- this is a casino ( free room ) reservation. She said,  if I cancel the original air resveration and rebook, then I have to pay for the new EZAir flight.up front. Don't know if this makes sense -- this is what I was told.

    This ^^^

Restricted fares have to be paid in full immediately and are not refundable. Flexible fares must be paid in full with the cruise final payment but are refundable until 45 days from flying.

Oddly enough, most times one will see Flexible Fares are lower in price than Restricted Fares. There are exceptions.

Restricted fares are ticketed immediately, Flexible Fares are not ticketed until within the 45 day window. There is a reservation, just no ticket number. This sometimes causes with seat assignments on some airlines.

Thanks -- I thought I was booking Flexible Fares -- I checked my Princess quote and Princess Air Confirmation -- both say Flexible Fare !!??

  9. Today, I cancelled a one way EZAir booking for a cruise that is not due for final $$ until Nov 28, 2023. I had not paid any $$ for this reservation.  I then rebooked ( same dep/ret cities ) a round trip EZair reservation, only to find out that I had to pay in full for the new flight itinerary, before final cruise payment.

    Why  ???

    Thanks for your responce
