  1. Ok, so I am also booked for the Star Dec. 6 out of Miami to So. America.  Disappointed in the itinerary change.  This is the 3rd in a row of Norwegian cruises I've been on that an itinerary was changed.  Not thrilled! I called to ask about the change and the rep was very nice, but she had no information about the "mechanical problem".  If there is a propulsion issue, why can they go still go to Grand Cayman and Costa Rica, rather than Santa Marta and Cartegena?  I admit I don't know about these things, but I still would like to understand.  Have been really looking forward to this for a while.☹️

I haven't sailed on NCL.  Do passengers of all ages book studios or does it tend to be a younger crowd?

I sailed on The Getaway, to Baltic, Northern Europe in Oct. '17.  The studio was fine.  I actually spent a bit of time in the lounge in the afternoon for cocktails, pre-dinner.  I'm retired and there were a few people that age, as well as 30s-40s.  I'm not shy, so I struck up friendships with a few other solo travelers. We would meet for dinner,  so we didn't dine alone

Seame25, would you consider expanding on what your want and why you asked for a 'solo cabin'?

IrieBajan offers a good price, but it is an inside cabin for 2 with a single supplement - not a solo designed cabin - which is what I assumed you were asking for.

Is it that you really want a cabin designed with only one person in mind, or are you wanting a good price for a solo traveler - in a cabin by themselves?

It might help us know what sort of feedback to provide.  Sometimes under 140 characters in a post doesn't provide enough info 😉

I have cruised in a studio on NCL.  It was fine.  Yes I am looking , also, at all cabins that have a reduced or no single supplement. Biggest desire,  besides itinerary, is best price.  Thanks.

NCL may be your best bet to not have to pay the full single supplement.

As an example, there is a  re-positioning cruise from Chile to Miami departing on March 16, 2019 ... 16 days ... for only $899 Solo inside plus port/taxes. That is a super deal for 16 days with multiple ports in Chile and Peru.

I saw that one and was tempted.  I really want the cruise to originate in Buenos Aires.  I want to cruise the Chilean fjords.

  5. Thanks. Looks like their itineraries are quite limited.  Trans Atlantic, starting in Europe, going to Brazil mostly. Some go to Argentina as well. Only a couple of stops in So. America.
