Hi again,
Excellent and helpful advice.
All of this (apart from the traffic light system) is what we had on Iona's Maiden Voyage at the beginning of August, and it drove us mad as well.
Why, after restrictions on social distancing being lifted, and mask wearing no longer being requested in England, P&O have not changed their attitude even a little bit, I really don't know. They have been at pains to say they are following Government guidelines the whole time. Well they aren't anymore.
We, like you, have been on other cruise lines this Summer and have felt other lines were taking a more relaxed view. Cunard were the exception here, but probably because they had an 'outbreak' just before starting back.
We were looking forward to our first 'international' cruise after waiting over two years! However, this has changed.
We will enjoy the sun (hopefully!) and the drinks, and the food, and our Suite. We will not, however, feel like we are on a cruise.
We will not be booking with P&O again until they are completely back to normal.
We have, however, already booked with other cruise lines next year.😊
Thank you for all your very helpful comments and advice. 😊
Enjoy the end of your holiday, and pray we get the same great weather you've had!😁
Cheers
CP
Remember England is not the only UK country. Mask wearing is still the normal in Scotland. I am not sure about Wales and Northern Ireland. Maybe P&O recognise this.

How was Caribbean Princess looking when you were last on her? I see she was refurbished in 2019. Is she still a good ship to go on?

If any of the above helps then you owe me a pint. I enjoyed the "heavy" a couple of decades ago, but whatever you local pours will be fine! 😎
Thanks 😲

I am looking for recommendations for a quiet beach. I don't mind going a bit further away from Bridgetown. It doesn't need to have any fancy restaurants, just a beach bar, chairs, umbrellas and half decent toilets. I would like a sandy beach with no rocks or coral blocking my way to the sea. Any suggestions?

Our 17th January Cruise now has Martinique instead of St. Vincent. We got an email telling us there were no berth available in St. Vincent.

I have finally had an email back from P&O about my complaint about the canopies. We also are to get £50 each obc. I wanted the sun but maybe it will be OK. There isn't a lot we can do about it anyway. There aren't any other suitable cabins available now which we would want. They had offered to swap us to a side balcony but I declined because of the size.

Glad you spoke to someone in the "normal balconies adjacent" . It makes me feel better too. I have seen a lot of photos of the end suites but not one of the in-between balconies in the sunshine. I will be in A725

My granddaughter's school had a bad outbreak last week. My granddaughter was kept away on Friday and was fine. There was supposed to have been a deep clean over the weekend but this morning she, and quite a few others are sick.

The one thing I don't do with heels on is use the stairs. I have nearly slipped on the carpet a couple of times so it's the lifts in the evening.

I wonder how easy those canopies will be to clean when all the soot lands on them 🤔
I certainly hope they will be cleaned regularly. We had a bad experience looking down on a very dirty lifeboat top. It had dead insects and all sorts. They didn't clean it until we'll into the cruise.

I am waiting for a reply from my T A about this. I booked an aft facing cabin on A deck as it was large and part shade, part sun. Now I am not sure if I will get and sun at all.
4 hours ago, AJ22 said:I've heard mention elsewhere that they have put canopies over some of the aft cabins/suites but can't find any confirmation of that. It has been suggested it might be either to help with a soot problem or to stop the cabins being overlooked from above. Does anyone know about this?

Don't know about a shuttle but there is a hop on hop off bus goes from near the ship. It's in two stages. The first stops at the Acropolis where you can change onto a round Athens bus. I think you can buy a ticket for either one ot two routes.

Having lunch in a 5 star hotel in Glasgow a man took his little girl to the gents toilet. Both emerged and walked straight out without washing their hands. What an example to set a child 😞

I know what you mean. Might wait until we get on board to decide. I would like the experience.

Purely out of interest, could you please let me know who the 4 acts are? Thanks.
It's 17th January cruise. The acts are 4 poofs and a piano, Claire Sweeney, Gareth Gates and Ben Richards

I now can see my 4 acts for the cruise. I can also see 4 menus. How does it work? Does the first act have the first menu for 3 night, 2nd act, 2nd menu or how does it work? I like the first act but not so keen on menu 1.

Thanks. Will try that tomorrow

We're off to USA and the Caribbean in January and I've just discovered my mobile phone provider '3' doesn't include the Caribbean or Mexico in their Go Roaming package.
Does anyone know of any other provider who might include these places? I know I'm on holiday but I would like to be able to talk to family now and again!
Install Whatsapp on your phone and look for wifi while in port. That way you can call or video call for free. The last time I was in Curacao the wifi was all over the town.

My cruise personaliser states that the acts for the Limelight Club should show up 90 days before the cruise. There is no sign yet of mine. I go on 17th January, 89 days from now. Is 90 days just an estimate? Does it sometimes take longer to show up?

I know there have been difficulties with tendering in Monte Carlo recently but we have been there many times without a problem. We have always been in the summer months. Not been to Cannes.

One of my dresses is beaded and quite heavy but it doesn't crush so I pack it in my hand luggage.

Hmm, yes. I am starting to have second thoughts about this cabin now. I was trying to find a way to get a bigger balcony (cant afford a suite sadly), but had not considered the metal balcony issue and also the wind.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Would be good to hear from anyone out there that has stayed in one of these however.
We have booked an aft facing balcony on A deck which is much bigger than the side ones. I picked A deck as it was partially covered.

Looking at balcony cabins immediately above the lifeboats on Aurora and wondering if you get noise from the equipment that holds these in place if the ship is rocking about, or otherwise.
No noise from equipment but the one we looked down on had a paddling pool on top which sloshed about as it had been raining when we left Southampton. When the water dried we had dirt and dead beetles lying on top. It was not cleaned until well into the cruise. It was not a good view standing at the rail.

You can’t check in online either. Has to be done at the desk at the airport.
I am on a Tui flight to Barbados. Premier seats were all taken before I booked but will I still be able to pre book seats online?

We just came off P&O Britannia last Sunday. On Tuesday I tested positive. My husband had all the symptoms but was negative. I hope he too has had it as we are on Queen Elizabeth at the end of August and it would be good to think we won't catch it again so soon
