I really enjoy CATS and think the cast does an amazing job.  If you are sensitive to cold, you might want to bring a sweater or light jacket.  We have normally sat closer to the stage, so not sure if it's the location.

YES! It was freezing up front! However it has to be for the actors, even with it being that cold, I can see them pouring out sweat.

Even though I thought that the show was a little long I was really impressed with the singing and acting it's almost like as good as if you saw it on Broadway in New York talented talented cast but I think they need to put in a new show katz is a little old and outdated

The cool thing is, that a lot of these actors previously were on Broadway or West End. Or, they go on to perform in those places. I saw Cats on Broadway, and I actually prefer the actors from OTS.

Only have cruised one other time...it was on Harmony.

We are going on Oasis Dec 3rd. Will see Cats.

Can you give me any ideas of things not to miss.

Any info would be great. Thank you so much.

Harmony and Oasis are BASICALLY the same ship. You will notice that OTS is starting to show her age, but still beautiful! There are a few dinning differences, such as the BBQ restaurant on OTS.

I prefer the Ice Show on OTS and I prefer Cats over Grease. I think the Aqua show on Harmony is better.

Just know when you see CATS, that it is in fact a 90-minute musical about dancing cats. As you can see from other people, most people skip it. Either you hate it or love it. I am one that LOVES it.

  4. It has been a while since I have posted, but if you might remember, I LOVE the musical CATS! I selected this cruise for my 40th birthday and specifically selected to see Cats again. I have seen Cats 11 times now, and of those times, 4 of them have been on OTS.

When we checked in at our Safety section, we were met by Hakim. I noticed that his badge said entertainment. After a brief discussion, he told us that he is Old Deuteronomy. He invited us to stay after the Saturday night show and meet the cast for pictures. On the way up to the top deck, we ran into Gabbi (and her mom) who plays Syllabub, she too invited us for pictures. Finally, up on the top deck we ran into Charlotte who plays Bombalarunia, she too invited us for the after-show experience.

On my previous sailing on OTS in 2019, our ship made global news with a breakout of the Norovirus. Two of the cats on this last sailing were ALSO on that norocruise; Charlotte and Jacky (Jellylorum.) The ship's staff was also hit with the bug which meant many members of the entertainment staff we tasked with other jobs. For instance, the CATS cast worked in the Windjammer serving food.

Back to last week's cruise. I saw both performances of CATS from the 2nd and 3rd row aisle. I was warned beforehand that they made cuts to the show and dropped the intermission. Meaning this show was only 90 minutes. This was not a bad thing. The songs that were cut were not missed and honestly, I was glad they were gone. The show moved much more quickly and was much more enjoyable.

The cast itself was STELLAR! The talent the actors have is so immense. Not only do they perform a VERY difficult production such as CATS but they also perform another show as well.

After the Saturday show, my wife and I got to go on stage after the theater had cleared and got to meet the whole cast and get some pictures. It is something I will never forget.

  5. I searched a few pages to see if anyone has asked this before, and I am sure it has, but alas my laziness has taken over.

I am heading out on Symphony in late May for a week. I have never tried the Royal Up process and thought I would give it a try. I was wondering, the price that I bid, is that in ADDITION to my current cost or that will be the NEW cost for the first 2 people?

I am going to low-bid and thus more than likely not get anything, but It looks like fun... so WHY NOT!?

  6. When I tried to pre-purchase the tour, I noticed that it was the same price that I previously saw on the ship. $35/person.

Honestly, I though the tour was cool, but I would not do it again, it was a tight fit and there were too many people in the tour.

The brunch afterwards however was AMAZING! Sushi, steak, seafood, amazing desserts. That, I would do again!

  7. When Disney releases their target for opening, I will believe it. Anything else is speculation.

I am excited for both Disney and the Cruise Industry to open again. As a Central Florida resident, I miss both! I also though want everyone to be as healthy as possible.

Bob Iger recently talked about some of the potential changes we might see at Disney parks, including temp checks/body scans, reduced capacity limits, and virtual queue lines.  All of these are great ideas!

You can snorkel and see animals both at Daniel Johnson's.)

Daniel Johnson's is THE BEST! He personally took our boat out for snorkeling. He is a great guy!

The Barrier reef that runs down Central America is the 2nd largest in the world and Roatan is top-10 snorkeling in the world.

In Cozumel there is a Scuba/Snorkeling park where they have sunk stone statues to increase coral growth.

  9. The first cruises my wife and I took, we were placed at a Mixed table for dinner. We didn't know anyone else at the table.

We became fast friends with those people and we still keep in touch with those people. We have had kids and they are growing up together though we live hundreds of miles apart.

Anyone else created a friendship from sitting at a mixed table at dinner?

  10. As a former Music Major, I really enjoy the musical themes.

I think they could use: Aria of the Seas, Orchestra of the Seas, Fanfare of the Seas and such.

Things that would not work: Durge of the Deas, March of The Seas, Suite of the Seas (unless all rooms were really suites,) or my personal least favorite: The Toccata and Fugue of the Seas!

  11. My wife and I are still trying to support local restaurants by ordering as much take out and stuff as we can.

Needless to say, we basically have leftovers for dinner every night.

    Not a bad problem.

I just feel bad for my 2.5 year old daughter. We both work and we have to keep her entertained while not just sticking in front of a TV the whole day.

  12. There is legend of a man that sails on the Harmony of the Seas. On said ship he works the place they call Wonderland.

His name is echoed in the halls of 12th floor. He is a man with vision, a man with style. A man who will give you a smile as quick as a recommendation on what you should eat.

He is not a simple man, but a man who knows many-a-thing. Some call him: Hero or Guru.

    I simply call him, Elton.

I wouldn't buy at the current price but if people feel it is a strong but and will come back why are they only buying enough to get the shareholder benefit ? If you think the price is good and market will rebound buy at least double so you can be in a position to sell AND still keep 100 for the shareholder benefit.

    Waiting for $20

I am buying some now, and some later. That way IF the price does continue to drop I can still buy at the lower price.  I am not just buying for the benefit, I am buying for the brand, I believe in RCL and I know that the stock will rebound. I will not sell when it does, I am in it for the long haul.
