We really loved the S class Royal suites- but honestly, don't use the bathtub on the balcony. So most important to us is the bigger room and two bathrooms.
I agree 100% with you. Two bathrooms and the extra room space has been amazing!!

Wow only 922 passengers…was the retreat sold out?
Did you do any Celebrity excursions?
we are booked in a sky suite on the Edge in September for a Greek cruise and are still nervous about PIF due to the anxiety of having to isolate for up to 21 days.
Sorry I have no idea if The Retreat was sold out or not. When we dined in Luminae, there were plenty of open tables and also lots of chairs at the Retreat Sundeck.
We did two Celebrity cruises out of the four we booked (two were cancelled I think due to lack of bookings). No issues with either of the two we did.

How have you found the room itself?
We are regular RS cruisers on S class but were a bit put off by the pictures of the RS on Edge, particularly the balcony.
Have you had any difficulties booking the speciality restaurants? Did you enjoy them?
The room is amazing! The balcony is really small. Just enough room for two chairs and table in the middle. The two chairs face each other.
We have no issues with booking the specialty restaurants. Our retreat host Ben has done all the bookings for us. He has been wonderful! Plus only 922 guests onboard I am sure helps getting into whatever restaurant we want 🙂. We have been to the Fine Cut Steakhouse twice! Le Petit Chef was fun!

Well our trip is almost coming to an end 😞. We received a Royal Suite in a move up upgrade and the experience has been amazing!! Plus there are only 922 guests on board so it is almost like a private cruise lol.
Does anyone have questions that I might be able to answer?

So it said you won on the infinite verandah but the room number matches a royal suite?
Sorry, yes said I won on the infinite verandah.

Yes the room number is a royal suite cabin. I am totally shocked - still can’t believe it lol

How did you find out about the Royal Suite and if you didn't bid, did they offer a price? I bid on all the cabins above the Veranda and they are all expired except the Sky Suite, which is pending. I really wanted the Celebrity or Royal Suite. Maybe I can still get one 🙂
After I received the email that I was upgraded, I went onto my Celebrity account to check out my new stateroom number and to my surprise it was a suite!

what cabins did you bid on?
Sunset, deluxe porthole and infinite veranda. We won on the infinite veranda.

We got accepted for our move up bid today for our Edge cruise leaving May 21! To our surprise, we received a Royal Suite - not the category we bid on!! What do we get with this Suite? I am not familiar with the suite perks and they may be different in a bid upgrade scenario? Our friends are travelling with us and are in an Infinity Veranda cabin. Can they join us in any of the perks of the suite we have?

We will be on The Edge on May 21 and this is the only excursion Celebrity is offering with the Amalfi Coast. Has anyone done this? Thoughts? Will it give us enough time to explore the coast area?

We have friends that are coming with us as well and they went to book the Hotel Navona and they had no rooms left 😞. We must have taken the last one. Any other suggestions of other hotels around the same pricing and location I can look at?
-
After much deliberation and reviews, I have decided on the Hotel Navona! I hope it was a good choice!!

Please help! I am feeling overwhelmed looking for hotels for the two of us and our two friends. We are doing two nights pre-cruise in Rome May 19-21. We want to stay city centre - Pantheon, Piazza Navona area. Booking.com has been great but there are so many options of hotels and guest suites (not sure exactly what these are). Can anyone suggest nice, but reasonable places to stay? We would like to spend no more than 250eur per night.

We are on the same cruise as you, also arriving two days early. We are staying at the Waldorf, no idea of the price as we are staying with points. I was beginning to wonder if we were the only people on this cruise.
I was wondering the same thing when I looked at our role call lol

There will be 4 of us leaving out of Rome on the Edge May 21. We will be staying in Rome 2 nights pre-cruise. I have been looking for a couple weeks for central location hotels - near The Pantheon, Spanish Steps - not too picky as long as it is central and walkable. But the options are overwhelming so reaching out for help. Any hotel suggestions at least 3-4 stars that won’t break the bank? Our budget would be no more than $350 Cdn per night.
Also, suggestions on companies to get us to the port on the Saturday?
-
Also curious about the PCR testing. It is required for us to return to Canada. Did you require this? If so, how was it done? I have heard that it is being done at the pier when returning to FLL.

What was your itinerary? What ports did you miss and did you go to other ports not on the original itinerary? We are scheduled to sail on the Apex 1/29 and trying to decide to go or not to go….
-
What is your itinerary? Any changes to the ports as of yet? Our itinerary on 1/29 is supposed to be San Juan, St Kitts and St Thomas.
-
We are booked for Jan 29 but still not too sure……..really enjoying this post though - thank you! Can you tell me if there was a silent disco!

Is the silent disco still a go? We are scheduled to board the Apex on Jan 29 and my friend loves the silent disco.

We will be in St Thomas during our cruise at the end of January. I see there are options to snorkel with turtles but it doesn’t seem that Celebrity offers such an excursion? Has anyone used a local company for this trip? Suggestions please.

I have searched but unable to find which islands Celebrity will not allow guests to go ashore without purchasing a Celebrity excursion. Can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks so much!

I am considering booking a solo Greek Island cruise this coming November. Am I crazy to be doing this? Will the weather be terrible? I am Canadian, fully vaccinated with Phyzer. Has anyone been to Greece then back to Canada? Was it seamless to travel or a complete hassle?
-
Hello everyone! I am a Canadian, fully vaccinated with both Pfizer doses. I have found a great deal including airfare for the end of September out of Athens sailing the Greek Islands. This has always been on my bucket list to do......but am I jumping the gun wanting to travel so soon? How many other Canadians have or will be in the next little bit? Is it a hassle getting back into Canada?
Currently on the Edge - Royal Suite (first timer)! Any questions?

As far as I have heard in one announcements earlier in the week, there was one Covid case onboard and it was a staff member. I haven’t heard anything since, but maybe I have missed it. I will ask and see if I can find out.
Not sure if the Retreat is full, but based on the amount of open tables at Luminae and available chairs around the sundeck, I am going to guess not.
