There is always a chance that your cabin may NOT be ready when you board, and you don't want to have to lug around a large suitcase.

I never thought of that; that would really stink if it's not ready and we are stuck lugging that all around.

How big is your suitcase?  I think it needs to be small enough to fit through the x-ray machine at security if you plan to carry it onto the ship with you (as opposed to giving it to the porters).  I thought one of the perks of FTTF is that they deliver your luggage to your cabin faster than the other cabins?  We have FTTF for the first time this Sunday out of New Orleans, so I'm curious as to how it will all play out, but we plan to check our big suitcase and just carry on the things we carry on the airplane (one backpack and one rolling carry on bag for each of us).

I guess the suitcases are considered carryon size for the airlines.  But I think we may just check them drop our bookbags and go enjoy the ship.  The more I think about it the more hassle I feel it may be.

It depends on how much luggage you bring. We carried on our luggage with FTTF but we only had one rolling bag each and I had a tote bag. I loved being able to unpack as soon as I got on and it was easy to find the room steward to ask for extra hangers then too.

one small suitcase each and a book bag each for our 12 packs and wine for us parents lol.  The suitcases have wheels.

  4. We have FTTF for our April sailing.  This is my first cruise and I see that we can go directly to our room after boarding.  Would it be better to just drag all of our luggage with us to the room instead of checking it and waiting on it to be delivered.  Is it worth the hassle?  Just would like some thoughts from experienced cruisers!

I've never seen it. I have been looking for one to open up for my cruise in April, but still have had zero luck.

I don't know what ship in April you are sailing, but I have been stalking FTTF for months and I got it finally for my April cruise at 250AM EST.  It was sold out again by 6AM.  I had been checking 10-15x's per day, but last night my doggy had an upset tummy and had me up all night and I happened to check it.  Keep checking, they do come available!

  6. So I have been stalking for MONTHS for a FTTF for my first ever cruise this April 2019.  I was up all night with my doggie who had and up set tummy and checked at 250AM EST and there it was!!  I purchased it and I am so happy!  Keep looking at random times it really does come available.  Unfortunately, at  6AM when I got back up for work it was sold out again.  Just keep looking  I hope you get it too!!!!

  7. I logged in at 250am EST and I was able to get my FTTF for my April sailing date. I logged back in at 6am all sold out.  Thank goodness my doggie had an upset tummy and had me up all night lol. This is my first cruise so I am super excited I was able to get it.  I have been stalking the app every day for the past 4 months waiting for it to appear.  I was starting to loose hope but I listened to everyone to continue looking daily and it paid off THANK YOU!!!!!

  8. This is just my first cruise so I am a tad bit nervous.  I just want it to be a wonderful experience.  I most definitely will pay better attention next go round.  I did read in another forum that you can ask the staff to put pillows in between the doors if the other party is loud for a sound barrier.  However this was a different cruise line and I am not sure that all cabins and doors are set up the same.  That is why I was seeking experience with people who have been on carnival.  Thank you all for the advice.

  9. Thank you! I was told the noise is terrible in connecting rooms; like the other party is in the room with you.  However, the person who told me this has never cruised before and stated they got that information from their parents when they went on a cruise.  Thank you for giving me a bit of ease.

  10. Hello All,

I am going on my first cruise in April 2019 on the Carnival Liberty, and when booking the room I did not realize that it was a connecting room.  I wanted a window room, and a room closer to the elevator I got both things, however again failed to realize until after checking in and setting up my sail and sign account that I booked a connecting room. I have some concern's and hope that seasoned cruiser can help me out.  1. Are they safe, should I be worried about some random person getting into my room? 2.  The noise, is it nosier with a connecting room, will I be able to hear the next cabin?  I called to change the room and all the rooms are basically gone except for rooms that will increase my amount way too much, I can call back periodically to see if any one cancelled, but for now it looks like that is where we will be staying.  Any useful tips are welcomed.  Thank you!
