it does not annoy me I just wish they would send some offers my way, I would use them

That is exactly why they won't send you offers.  You're more likely to book without an offer.

  2. If you go back to my original post you will see that the photo of the artwork the guy was talking about is the back of the elevator.

The source of the photo was a drydock worker's FB page that was shared on a Carnival FB page.  I never claimed that my post was from a verified source but it DOES clearly show the back of the elevator.

Removing artwork from an elevator is likely because of the vandalism noted.  (scratching off nipples...  LOL)  Not because of complaints.  But it seems like the elevators might be the only places.

I hope you got your answer OP, it seems like the thread is transitioning to judgey posts at this point :-)

Please don't mistake my post above as "judgey"...  But as others have noted, it is worth mentioning that circumstances COULD happen that would possibly separate you from your kids.  The chance appears to be very small, but if an emergency happened, most people would want to have the peace of mind of not being separated from their kids.

The OP wants to have some fun, and they are entitled to that, but it is worth noting that.  I'm not judging.  I'm just saying that I would not be comfortable enough to do it.

The cruise ship decides what is on the play list.  He may have very well been out of line but also it’s on the play list they told him to use.

I know DJ's who have worked on cruise ships, and no the cruise ship does not dictate the songs...  that is what they hire the DJ for.

What likely happened here is that the women were heckling him about it... so he decided to troll them back.  As a DJ who regularly deals with rude drunk guests making bad requests, I can relate.  He should not have mocked them though.  He should have just played some Chris Brown and trolled them indirectly.

  5. As a Wedding DJ, I can add this...  The R.Kelly thing has been a topic of numerous debates recently.  It's getting pretty old actually...  Just like "Baby I'ts Cold Outside" was a few months ago, and "Blurred Lines" before that, as well as countless others.  If you connect the controversy of the artist to the music always you wouldn't be able to play at least 50% of all music...  Jerry Lee Lewis had a thing for young girls too, but would the same church group be offended by "Great Balls of Fire"???

My opinion...  I like R. Kelly's music even though I despise the man himself.  I would not be offended by hearing a song.  This is media hype mostly...  And yes, it is totally right to vilify the man.  But "Bump & Grind" is part of my life...

But honestly, my opinion doesn't matter here.  As a DJ, I do NOT think he was wrong for playing the song initially...  BUT he was VERY wrong for rubbing it in and basically taunting his own audience.  There's plenty of other good songs to play.  Don't make fun of the guests...

My question here is...  would the same church group have been offended by Cardi B or Nicki Minaj's sick lyrics?

  6. Good stuff here.  I LOVE the idea about bringing an old iphone.  I have one that is deactivated and therefore there is no danger of racking up charges.  Also the waterproof pouch.

The passport thing still has me wondering though as it seems that there's no consensus.  I was/am still leaning towards keeping them on the boat though.  If they got lost or wet I'd be screwed.

  7. Never cruised before.

Do you disbark with your cell phones?  Cash?  ID's?

In HMC thinking about going out on a Hobie...  could involve getting wet.  Maybe I should leave my cell phone on the ship?

In Freeport booked a kayak excursion...  same thing.

And overall, just afraid I would lose this stuff.

I don't need the phone per se, but I'd be giving up the camera.

  8. Sailing the Pride in April.  Purchased the premium internet on 2 devices.  Yes, I have read that even with premium it is horrifically slow...  but I'm gonna try.  I need to stay in touch with work and so does the wife.  I usually take care of work stuff in the early AM so maybe the speeds will be better then.

My 2 boys ages 12 and 14 are freaking out at the idea of going without Fortnite for a whole week...  boo hoo, right?  (I can't wait to tear them away from the screens!)  I know the wifi would never support Fortnite, but will it support many of the phone games?

Yes, I plan on limiting their access to maybe an hour each day, but I'm positive my one son will be harping on me the entire week for access...  but will it even work??  He plays these Clash of Clans and SW Galaxy of Heroes and Marvel type games that require online access.  They are not streaming games but they do require internet.  When I'm sitting by the pool there's some games I play too...

I know I will get responses saying that we need to totally unplug for the week...  but at least some limited access would be nice.  I could use it as a reward for dressing up on elegant nights (cause they're freaking out about that too).
