Anyone have any luck getting a refund on travel expenses such as airfare due to the canceled cruises? They are offering up to $500 US per person. The webpage where I have submitted mine still does not seem to work (spinning wheel forever after submitting). Anyone get something accepted or get money back? If so how did you do it and was a booking receipt enough?

They require proof of booking, and proof of cancellation and proof of amount of refund (if any).  It's not as easy as I thought.  I used a company called MyTrip to book our flights and am not getting any communications with them about cancelling

@Virgin VoyagesI called Virgin on Monday June 13 and waited on hold for 3.25 hours - finally spoke to a pleasant and capable person who answered all my questions and said she would officially cancel our Jan 7/23 Resilient booking so that we could rebook. (we weren't sure at the time which sailing we wanted to do). But now 5 days later, it is still not showing as cancelled on my dashboard. I want to be able to use our FVC to rebook as Mega RS again and now those voyages are booked up. We weren't eligible for the 200% FVC since our booking was made using FVC from a previous Valiant Lady voyage that VV also cancelled on us.  I can't seem to use the generic form to do this online as there is doesn't appear to be an option for this?  Any ideas how to proceed other than sitting on hold for hours again? I have used twitter who sent me the generic form which doesn't really help as we don't know which voyage to book at the moment.

If you want to use your 200% FVC you are best to phone - mine never did show up on my dashboard

Hi have tried on twitter, instagram and Facebook messenger so far.

i believe there’s clearly  an issue with online chat as well as you can wait an hour or two and get to the front of the queue and it says no agents available.

Yes, if you contact them on those social media sites, they just ask you to email anyway.

Chat never worked - maybe it's overloaded?

Get up at 8AM EST and call at EXACTLY 8AM - you'll only need to wait an hour or so on hold.  Otherwise, you'll never get anyone the rest of the day - you be on hold all day.

That being said, once I finally got a hold of someone I was well taken care and had all my questions answered.

@kendid Hi Kendid and thanks for using my link. Fingers crossed that you'll get your $200. It's finally shown up on my dashboard too but only $50. I'll contact customer service and see whether they'll change it to $200.

For everyone else who's monitoring whether their links are being used, you may see $50 sailor loot in your dashboard as well and not $200. I'll report back once I've contacted customer service. (It's not that easy - chat has no agents available and when I click to send an email, the page is broken. Virgin definitely need to fix their IT!)

On my email confirmation it shows $200, but on the dashboard it shows $50.  When I talked to customer service, they confirmed it was $200.  So hopefully you get it too!

@elynbeth if you post the incorrect link and correct departure date I can look up the correct details for you and correct.

Has anyone booked with the codes? Does the credit automatically appear for both? As was it for the correct amount given the checkout process shows $50 ?

I booked with the code a couple of days ago.  In the email I received, it says $200, however on my dashboard it shows $50.  When I talked to the customer service rep, they said it's definitely $200.

  6. I'm just trying to think of how to get the best value out of the 200% credit with Virgin.

Can it be used for taxes and fees, or do we pay cash for those?

I'm wondering, as if I used the Access Key for a free cruise - can part of the FVC be used to pay the fees & taxes associated with that cruise.

Also, can FVC be used for bar tab?

Thanks in advance to those who know!

It's been 6 hours and 42 minutes since my "we will save your place in the queue and call you back" I did this morning

    - No callback yet. Ugghhh.

I've given up hope on my callback.  Currently on hold for just over 5 hours without getting disconnected!  Hopefully the service on the ships is better than this!

Jumping onto the bandwagon, if anyone is interested in the Valiant Lady TA leaving Barcelona to Miami (Oct 16-30), here's referral link to get yourself $200 onboard credit -

    Code expires 30 June.

EDIT: Got DM to say that the link works fine showing $200 OBC but somehow on check-out only shows $50 OBC. I'm not sure what's going on, so DM me if you use the link so we can both chase after Virgin to make sure the $200 credit shows up fine.

Will be using this today - shows up as $50 for me right now
