  1. We had an overnight stop in Safaga with Norwegian Jade last November. We booked the day tour to Karnak and Valley of the Kings as a private tour for just hubby and me with Ramaside Tours. Pick up/ drop off was right at the pier. Ramaside offers small to medium groupsize tours as well and they all were picked up at the pier right next to the busses for ship excursions.

Cool. However, our next NCL cruise won't be until Oct 2024 when we'll be on the Getaway for 30 days cruising around the eastern Mediterranean to include going to the Egyptian pyramids.

Oh..ok. It says Africa/Med.. though it's the 21days Capetown to Barcelona. Been on the Getaway twice, one of our favorite ships even though it's larger than the Jade.

    Enjoy the Eclipse!

Then on top of a fun evening, we noticed in the Daily when we got back to the cabin there was going to be another lecture by Dave, only this time it was promoted as a Port Talk!! After seeing that, I had to immediately hunt down CD Richard to apologize for being so “me” the other evening and thanked him over and over for allowing Dave to give another lecture, with what appears to be more to come!! Richard reminded me that he was not a professional lecturer, but then I point out that’s what makes Dave’s lectures so much fun to go listen to! 😁

We talked to Dave a couple of days ago and he actually was a teacher back in the Philippines before joined NCL last November. We didn't attend any lectures yet but I'm sure they were both, fun and educational.

As we wait to cross through the Strait, we went to breakfast. When we got back to the cabin, this was on our bed, as was the case for the other 162 or so passengers staying on for the next leg from Dubai to Cape Town. We went down to Guest Services to find out about the Yellow Fever shot requirement for the Seychelles and Madagascar, as we had never heard about this before. As far as the COVID vaccine and boosters, we’re good on that front.

To make a long “highly stressful” discussion shorter, it appears that if you don’t have proof you’ve had a yellow fever shot, the medical staff will hopefully be able to issue you a waiver if you’re in good health. They’re still working out the details with Madagascar. It will be interesting how this issue will develop with regards to the 1,500+ passengers boarding in Dubai a week from now. Stay tuned …

This is weird as you only need a yellow fever shot if you have been to or transiting through an affected area...which so far we have not done and also won't do on our way to Madagascar.

We're all checked in now to both legs of our B2B. By 2:30 pm today "Nicole" will have completely moved out of Atlanta heading North and East. Our bags are packed and ready to be loaded into the car for our drive early tomorrow morning to the airport. So without further ado, let's get this party started!! 🕺💃

We are all checked in for both legs as well.

But I haven't started packing yet...

We've recently ordered room service on Royal. They offer a free continental breakfast for room service, but charge $7.95 for hot breakfast and other meals.

That's the way it is with NCL, too. They have a flyer where you mark what you want and at which time it should be delivered. You leave it at your door the night before. This is different to the new room-service-programm they have called SWIFT which involves a fee all the time.

I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere, including when calling NCL...

I booked my July cruise using FCC only. As NCL canceled, do I get 125% FCC back or just the 100% I used?

    Thanks in advance 😊

How did they handle it for you?

I had a July cruise cancelled that was partly paid by FCC and partly by cash (cc). I got the FCC re-issued with original expirationdate, got a new FCC for the cash-payment and got a 25%-bonus-FCC for the new (cash)-payment.
