  1. We purchased the Priority Access package, and I was left feeling scammed. Please note that this is only my personal experience and opinion, but it is a purchase I severely regret making. If you are taking the spa credit into consideration in your decision, please see my post to the spa pricing menu and what services that credit is applicable to.

Please do not trust what anyone tells you (even NCL representatives). Do your research before purchasing. After asking specifically if I would be able to get a dip or shellac manicure with my $50 credit - that I would be able to use it just for a manicure, I later found out this was not the case.

In addition, the free room service for breakfast only covered the $4.95 continental options and we often only received enough food for 2 of the 4 people in our cabin.

While I was told beforehand that I could get a refund if I didn't find the package lived up to my expectations, this also was not the case - even after immediately going to guest services within an hour of boarding and learning these facts.

Please note that NO refunds are available on this package once you set foot on the ship.

With two teenagers and a family of ADHDers (myself included), the package *might* be worth the price for the priority boarding benefit, but we arrived early enough to be among the first people on the ship anyway, so I can not evaluate the reality of this portion of the package.

This is not me complaining, but rather sharing my experience in the hopes that it helps someone else with an informed decision. Please take my opinion with a grain of salt, but for me - this package is a waste of money at best and is swimming in "scam" territory.

    Buyer beware

  2. Thank you for posting this. I wish I had seen this before my last trip. We had the Priority Access package (don't do it!) with the $50 spa credit and, while we were told otherwise before purchasing the package, the credit can only be used on those services noted with the little "well-loved" services symbol.

So, if anyone is looking forward to using it for a manicure - your only real option is to apply it towards the $159 Fire and Ice Manicure and Pedicure.

  3. This is fairly last minute, so the highly recommended "Rome in Limo" is booked for this kind of transfer/tour. Are there any recommendations for a light-weight transfer from airport to hotel service that perhaps includes a 3 or so hour "overview" tour as well? We arrive in Rome far too early to check into our hotel, so we're looking for something that is a bit lazy (we'll be exhausted from our red eye flight), but exciting as well. Something to give us a bit of an overview of Rome before we can check into our hotel.

    Any recommendations?

  4. My Greek Isles cruise is currently 1/3rd the price of what we paid. From what I understand, we're at the mercy of NCL as far as consolation goes. On one had - we paid what we felt was worthwhile enough when we paid it...on the other hand, it sucks to know we'll be cruising with others who paid less than half for more than what we have - and that diminishes our perceived value a bit. But...we get to visit beautiful places with people we love. I can't be sad about that.

I DO wish we were able to upgrade at the current rate since the cost of a better cabin is lower than what we're paying - that part does seem a bit unfair.

  5. We are thinking of giving a small gift to our butler and/or concierge for our upcoming cruise when we meet them. We thought about bringing some sort of candy or trinket from our home state, but want to give them something they'll enjoy. What are some good gift ideas to give that they will appreciate?

    Thanks in advance.
