  1. I sailed the Caribbean Princess when she was new. What a beautiful ship. I just sailed her last March on a partial Panama Canal Cruise. I  had a balcony on the Riviera Deck. Every thing worked fine. The staff is great. The first night( to be expected) there were some lines in the dining room. After that you could walk right in and be seated. After we returned , some people on facebook were speaking of the aweful smells and the shape of the ship. I walked 10,000 steps every morning before breakfast. I covered a lot of area. I never smelled anything. You will have a great time. I will be sailing her again October 19th again with some ladies I met in the Panama Canal.

  2. I will be sailing on The CP March 22nd. I haven’t sailed with Princess since 2014. I was on the CP when she first came out. I actually quit cruising for awhile as I fly into destinations now. In 2019 my husband and I booked a cruise to Cuba on carnival the rules changed so that cruise is canceled so we had to book a fast last minute cruise so we took an older carnival ship to the Caribbean. I will say it was probably the worst ship I’ve ever been on. It sounded pretty much like your experience on the Caribbean princess. This past, November, my friend and I took a cruise on a new carnival ship the panorama on the West Coast of Mexico. This ship was absolutely beautiful and we had a great experience. I even had a facial in the spa and the girl wasn’t too bad about pushing but I always love the princess experience so I will try to report back and tell you how I feel after being off of Princess for nine years what I see the medallion experience will all be new for me, I am platinum on Princess. I always love their ships and the layouts. Sorry to hear your cruise wasn’t what you expected.

  3. I spent 6 weeks in Tijuana 3 yrs ago with my hubs in a cancer clinic. I was concerned at first . We were in a residential area. Within days I was out walking alone . I’m 62 and travel solo to Jamaica. I spent 60 days there last winter . You have to be aware and watch your surroundings. The Jamaican people are great. I go about 2 hours from the city . I’m getting ready to do my first Mexican Riviera cruise on the Panorama. My friend and I plan on  visiting every port , we were gonna just walk around in Cabo .  Any suggestions?  Tired of water, snorkeling adventures .

  4. I have been on here for years as I haven’t cruised since 2014. My husband passed away so a friend of mine and I are Planning a cruise on the carnival panorama from Long Beach to Mexico. I have never done a Mexico cruise. I typically have aft cabin. So my question here is which side of the ship should I book or does it matter. Thank you so much in advance for your help. Carolyn

  5. We cruised Northbound in 2006 Vancouver to Whittier. Staying one day front and back . We had no more time off work. We don’t regret not doing more. It was our best cruise ever. We are finally going back this May and are doing 2 days extra on our own. Do whatever you can afford and have time for. You will have no regrets.

  6. We cruised Alaska only one time and that was 2006. We have cruised the Caribbean 9 times. The last two were 2013 and last September. We now fly into the Caribbean and stay. We find it 100% different experience then a cruise. Last September we did the Western Caribbean. ( was booked for Cuba but that got canceled.) After flying in and staying we decided we will no longer cruise to the Caribbean. We are bored with it. We just returned from Jamaica and are returning in Oct. We just won’t cruise the Caribbean unless we can do the Panama Canal. With Alaska it is totally different. So much to see and do. I would love to do Norway and The rest of Europe. We are booked for this May for Southbound Alaska. We can’t wait .

  7. We cruised Northbound with Princess in 2006 and  used a taxi from airport to hotel. This trip we are sailing Southbound with Princess. Should I do ship transfers from ship to airport or hire cab or Uber or Lift ? Thanks in Advance.

  8. I don’t think you will feel out of place if you choose not to wear a suit. When we choose Princess it has nothing to do with how people dress for dinner. It’s because we like their ships . I can’t imagine going on a cruise and  spending my time counting how others are dressed.

  9. I’m sorry if this has been asked before. I’ve looked  and can’t find  an answer. We are sailing The Grand , Sat to Sat , Southbound Alaska. Sunday ,Monday and Friday are Sea days . What days will formal be?  We are wanting to book the Crown grill on the dressier evening .Thanks in advance. Carolyn

  10. My son is now 36. In the 80’s and 90’s we traveled to Hawaii, all over the US and Caribbean. Never Alaska. I really regret that. Every family is different. He wouldn’t have been a whiner he would have enjoyed it. So much more to see then the Caribbean. Only you knows your kids. Do they enjoy learning and seeing or do they have to be entertained 24/7. So much of Alaska is setting back and taking in the beauty. Good Luck .
