  1. I just got on Breeze for a short trip to Cozumel and back.(09-08-2022).  I administered the self tests for me and my SO and took the pictures with our names and the tests on a blank piece of paper etc. etc.  When we got to the port(Galveston) the lady checking us in asked us if we were fully vaccinated or not.  I answered “not vaccinated”, and she simply moved on to scan our faces and waved us on to boarding without asking any additional questions or asking to see our tests.  YMMV

  2. I’m talking about waiting right near the doors to our muster station, so we can see when the area is getting full and join once two or three downs have formed.  That should not delay anyone, just keep us from being in back and maybe shave 15-20 minutes off the time we have to wait for the people who are really late.

  3. I was wondering if anybody deliberately shows up a little late for the safety drill.  We usually show up right when called, and then end up crammed behind three rows of people on a hot corridor waiting 20-40 minutes for stragglers.  On our last cruise, my Mother in Law (who is claustrophobic) passed out after 30 mins in these conditions, along with two other people in our section.  The “stragglers” showed up 35 mins late and got put right up front and basically spent less time in those miserable conditions than the “good” people who came right away.  I am thinking of waiting just inside the doors for 20 mins or so, so that we don’t get crammed in the back and wait forever for the drill to start.  I have never seen one start before this time anyway.  Has anyone else ever tried this?  I don’t want to be the last people that everyone has to wait on, but I also don’t want to subject myself to that experience again.

Are Guy's ,Blue Iguana, and the pasta bar an extra charge?

What does a typical meal for 2 cost at one of the speciality dining places?  I assume that we have to go to specialott dining to have a romantic dinner for two for our anniversary since the MDR is seating with others?

Do we need to make reservations ahead of time for speciality restaurants?

Guys and Blue Iguana are free, never done pasta bar so not sure about that one.  The steakhouse is $38 pp, best place for a romantic dinner for two. However, you can request a private booth in the MDR.  On anytime dining, they may give you a pager to let you know when one is available.  You do need to make reservations ahead of time generally for specialty restaurants, but you can do that through your Cruise Manager on the Carnival website.  If you reserve the steakhouse the first night, they give you a free bottle of inexpensive wine, or half off their regular bottles.

  5. Why do they put the cheap deli meat out on the buffet?  Even the lowest end buffets back home don't do that.  Like bologna and pimento loaf.  And it isn't Boars Head type deli meat, it looks like Oscar Meyer.  I could get a real sandwich around the corner at the actual deli.  Doesn't make sense to me.

  6. The "ocean" around the ocean cabanas is more like a ship channel.  I would not swim in it.  Just sit by the pool and rent some umbrellas for your party.  The pool is super awesome, umbrellas cover two chairs each and cost $20.

It's a specific code that will only work for those who have had their 3 year anniversary.

I used it and been on less than 2 weeks.  I don’t think they care, should be making $$$ just from us using the site.  No points = no business I would think.

  8. How does all of this get funded?  Does Allstate get the cards at a discount for buying in bulk or something?  I assume that Allstate is either breaking even or making a little on these transactions; I can't imagine that they are actually spending money on a free program that has no safeguards and no revenue for them.

  9. Hey guys, thanks for this thread!  I signed up about 10 days ago.  I am not an Allstate customer, but I was able to accumulate 9,000 points from the sign up bonus and codes posted to this thread.  I used them to buy $900 in physical gift cards for $810, since every 1,000 points equals $10 off of every $100 in gift cards. Since I owed about $900 on my September cruise, I bought 1 $500 and 4 $100 cards, which were received.  It took about two days to get the confirmation email after placing the order, and then about 5 days for the cards to be received via UPS.  Everything worked fine on the Carnival website, although I did notice that the cards were sequentially numbered.  However, a PIN was required, so maybe some of the fraud issues reported earlier have been resolved.  Also, when I logged back in to my rewards account, I noticed I got an additional 10,000 pts just for leaving the app installed for a few days (something about no hard breaking or accidents detected by the app for a set number of days).  While it seems you don't need to keep the app installed to continue to load your account with promo codes, you may snag some extra points by leaving it active for a week or so.
