Can anyone say if Bed is on left or right side in Conceirge 8148 cabins?  They alternate so can use another cabin close to that to figure it out.  Thanks

We stayed in 8148 on March 25th cruise. Bed is next to the bathroom. The bed/bathroom is aft, or to the right when entering the room.

It was a nice, quiet cabin. Can't complain... right under the mid buffet made getting food easy, but not directly under, so no noise from above (as would happen on deck 9 cabins).

I assume you are only kidding, but if that lamp gets hot enough the hat can catch on fire.

The lamp didn't get hot. New fangled lightbulbs conserve energy and stay cool. The light rarely was on. (Usually it was turned on by stateroom attendant so our room wasn't dark at night). By the end of the cruise, the lamp looked odd without my hat on it. My hat fit perfectly.

The other bedside lamp is similar sphere size, but hangs down from the ceiling... might only be useful for a open top visor.

*only bedside lamp with charging plugs is on the hat-able lamp... other bedside lamp doesn't have charging plugs... start flipping coins over who gets to be next to the plug now before your cruise!!

Don't see why not.     They are moved routinely when the king is separated into singles.    I've moved mine before to get tot the electrical outlet behind it.

Just stayed in CC. Moved nightstnds next to bed easily. Needed access to device plugged into nightstand (only 1 CC nightstand had plugs i think).

Elevator to retreat on Summit (pics taken at night) --enclosed glass elevator on outside deck of ship. (Not a suite guest, but I thought I'd post these pics). Thought this may answer some questions I've seen about accessibility.

I am posting pictures but won't answer questions (still on honeymoon after Summot March 25th cruise, and have a lot of post-wedding stuff to deal with when we get home).

The logo looks like the gluten free labeling, which I've heard is being discontinued. Lol!

What's this about gluten free labeling? I know someone who has Celiac and will be cruising in June... any changes to gluten labeling will be of great importance to them.

What ship will you be on?

In our experience of several classes of Celebrity ships, there is live music each evening in a space near the dining room, and occasional DJ music later, in a different space.  It includes lots of different tempos for different types of dancing.

We are going on Summit (M class) on March 25th.

  8. Just wondering if there are any events offered on Celebrity cruises that might offer slow dancing.

My fiance and I took a Royal Caribbean cruise a few years ago and they only had fast dance-club music (we kept waiting for maybe a slow dance until the end, and nothing).

I assume they'll have a newlyweds and anniversary party, which we'll be invited to (our wedding is 2 days before our cruise), and from VHS and DVD videos of previous cruises it looks like they'll offer some slow dancing.

Just wanted to know if any events are to be highlighted on our cruise itinerary if we want to do some slow dancing on our honeymoon.

    Thanks,

thanks SO much for this thread.... we are not frequent cruisers (maybe every 5-7 years) but my husband enjoys the friends of Bill meetings each night, now that they are removing the library , does anyone know if there is any chance they are also removing the meetings each day?

What is "friends of Bill"? I remember seeing it on previous cruises, but wasn't sure what it was. (I thought some big wig had booked a lot of rooms, or something -- enough to have a private party listed on everyone's itinerary).

  10. We are going on our Honeymoon on the Summit cruise. It is HARD finding a cruise that doesn't leave on a weekend (hard to swing a wedding and a cruise departure in the same week! Glad I found the Monday, March 25th departure on Summit -- found out about the revolution months after booking it).

We booked through celebrity website directly. I added the "Honeymoon" celebration to our reservation . . . not sure, but we may have been bumped up to concierge class from veranda stateroom because of it (or maybe because I paid of the bill very early, and maybe that puts you ahead on the upgrade list?) -- or the concierge room could have had 3 guests booked in it, and then the room became a 2-person room. Whatever the reason for the upgrade,  I can't wait for our cruise . . . it is keeping me sane through all the final details of throwing together this wedding! 👰🤵 [reading cruisecritic as I am printing off the reception programs]

Good question.  How were you "bumped" up, via the MoveUp program?   Did you prepay or was it the perk?  If it was a perk I'd say you won't be responsible.   If however if you prepaid at final payment time they I'd say yes you would be responsible for the extra gratuities.

I was totally unaware of the bump up... unless I haphazardly clicked an authorization somewhere unknowingly.

  12. Here is what Celebrity has on their website under FAQs, but the comments I’ve read seem to call questions as to whether Celebrity follows this in practice:

    Religious Services Onboard
    Q.

Are religious services available on board?

    A.

Celebrity ships offer religious services for Catholic and Jewish faiths, as well as, Interdenominational services during major religious holidays (see detailed information below). Guests of all faiths are able to host their own spiritual fellowship or group gathering by inquiring with the Guest Relations Desk onboard.

Catholic Mass: A Roman Catholic Priest will conduct daily mass during Lent, Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday, and Christmas Day.

Interdenominational Services: A Minister will conduct services on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.

Jewish Services: A Jewish Rabbi or Cantor will conduct services during Passover, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Hanukkah.

In-Port Religious Services: Please check with the Guest Relations Desk for information pertaining to your respective faith. Due to the varied itineraries, each ship has religious services information for local houses of worship.

Holy Land Voyages: A Roman Catholic Priest will conduct Daily and Sunday Mass during each Holy Land cruise. A Jewish Rabbi or Cantor will conduct Friday evening Shabbat Service during each Holy Land cruise.

  13. I know it’s only a small amount more per day between regular and concierge class gratuities.... but I was wondering if celebrity increases our prepaid gratuity when they bumped us up a cabin class — or are we required to pay the $1/day in increased gratuities once we board?

a dumb question, but I am curious

I ask to have the minibar emptied, then get a soda every time I go back to the cabin, until the minibar is full of my own soda.  It seems very silly not to let us use the drinks in the minibar if we have a beverage package.

Thanks for the info! Never thought of that!

You can ask for a can of unopened soda at any bar. Look at the deck plans to see what is a adjacent to the Aft elevator. Looks like OceanView Cafe could be your place for to go drinks.

    Oceanview it is then.

  15. We are going on a cruise shortly on Summit, and are staying near the Aft Elevators . . .

I just found out we cannot use our soda beverage package to get soda delivered to our room . . . where's the closest fix?

(Summit will be just coming out of Revolution drydock, so hopefully, bars will remain in place).

I think I will miss the freestyle Cola machines on Royal Caribbean near the pizzeria and buffet that we had on our last cruise.

When you use a beverage package for soda, do they give you a can (open/closed) or fountain beverage in a glass?

My first celebrity cruise, the bartenders knew me, and would have my soda ready as I walked up.

Looking forward to cruise in March!!! 🥤

  16. I don't know if we will get our luggage tags in time . . . I just requested they mail them to Canada.

When I go to the "Print your Luggage Tags" option, it still says the room which I originally signed up for (Veranda in the forward port area), but not the room we have been upgraded to (Concierge class Starboard Aft area)... also the decks are different.

How do I get our luggage tags? Will they update our printable tags???

I don't have time to hunt things down the week before the cruise, as we are getting married 2 days before on the 23rd, and flying to Puerto Rico on March 24th to board the ship on the 25th (very busy pre-cruise). 🤵👰

Yes, it is buried way down on that page. It took me some work to find it a couple months ago. I ordered an extension cord without surge protection before I found that. I ended up cancelled that order and bought some adapters from eBay for my upcoming cruise.

I just got an extension cord without surge protection. My family (who I travel with) always had one because the plugs were always in awkward locations in the cabin. [My dad said I can claim it is a phone charger as it has 3 USB ports, that I will probably use way more than the outlets].

*Also, my dad said they will offer to provide an extension cord if you need one for medical reasons (i.e. CPAP machine).

Has anyone here actually have one confiscated???

Appears like X are moving a few pax around on revolutionised ships as they are altering cabin capacity in various categories. Worrying if you’d already chosen a particular desired cabin and are moved to a less desirable location.

I looked it up, and conferred with my cruising friends that the new cabin location is a better one -- a deck higher than the veranda room with still being sandwiched between cabins above and below. (Actually, I love that we'd have a pillow menu, MDR embarkation lunch, upgraded room service menu, and a bottle of sparking wine on embarkation).

I do think the concierge cabin was changed from 3 to 2 people occupancy as they removed the couch (so maybe someone was forced to switch post-revolution).

I had spent time choosing a room with a good/quiet location (and a meaningful cabin number), but I think the upgraded elements more than make up for loosing the symbolic cabin number I had been memorizing for the past year.

I had chosen a veranda cabin as we usually stay in interior staterooms, and I wanted something a bit nicer for our honeymoon (wedding 2 days before cruise). The concierge class looks amazing, and the location doesn't look too bad.
