Just purchased cheers, internet and a  massage - the charge comes up as carnival cruise Line, not fun shops.

let’s see what happens.. if not final payment is 4/20 and will use the Amex then.

but I have a feeling I’ll have the credit by then

Please let me know how this works out.

Our cruise is paid in full but we would like to use the AmEx offer for either cheers or gratuities.

A very small tip is included.  You pay 18% of the cost of CHEERS so about $9 a day.  Divide that $9 up between all the beverages you order per day.  Ends up being maybe .60 to .75 cents per drink vs someone who is purchasing drinks separately which adds an additional 18% of the cost of each drink.

    What’s wrong with that?

I commented on another thread about this, but I thought I'd start a new topic.

I just got off of the Horizon yesterday on an 8-day ABC island cruise. First... let me say, overall, I had a great cruise.

But....... and it's a big but. This ship was HOT! I'm talking sweat your extra calories off hot. Other than our cabin which was cool (thank God or this fat old lady would have jumped ship), everywhere you went was miserable. I sat at Alchemy most nights and the heat was quite the topic of conversation amongst everyone. This is an open area bar, so there isn't a reason it should be so sweltering there. The Blackjack tables in the casino were like a sauna. Eating in the MDR was not fun in your nice clothes when you feel the sweat on your back.

I think part of the issue is the LED spotlight lights they use everywhere. Those suckers put off some heat. But, other than that, I really don't know the reason.

I spoke to Guest Services and honestly, they just kept throwing around different "reasons" and excuses and didn't really seem overly concerned.

The ship is lovely and the crew were great, but I will have to be offered one hell of a deal before I would sail her again until I know this has been addressed.

Curious if others have had this experience recently on the Horizon....

I was on the same cruise as the OP and I completely agree with this assessment!

    The ship was uncomfortably hot!

The cabin room was a little cooler which made it bearable.

Can’t believe a ship four years old can’t stay cool for passengers.

Won’t sail on her again until they fix it and improve the food quality in the lido.

I had a good time but things need to improve on this ship.

I am sailing on the Horizon in 5 weeks, and our facebook group is posting things about AC issues in the main areas of the ship.  Are you seeing anything like this?

Not trying to hijack the OP thread but this ship is hot! I just got off the 8 day to the ABC islands today. The rooms are a bit cooler but the rest of the ship is in need of a total AC overhaul!

I couldn’t believe a ship four years old could be like this.

We still had a good time but was surprised on how hot the common areas were.

  5. The wife and I did the Cheers package for the first time last December for a six day cruise on the Freedom and thought it was well worth the money.

It was nice to be able to try new drinks at dinner and elsewhere that we probably wouldn’t buy if we didn’t have it.

I reached my 15 drink  limit all six days and the wife fell a little short a couple days and I have to say we never felt like we had too many. We would start around 11:00 and have four or five on the serenity deck and maybe take a power nap before dinner and start up at dinner again.

This is exactly why I used every single one of my AARP points before the Rewards switch - either buying GCs or trying to win one of those $5k Carnival cards in the Sweeps (I did not!).

Yep, not sure why more people don’t take advantage of a 10% discount!

We used the AARP discount on our last cruise and had no problems before they switched. I will say that I found it easier to find codes for Allstate than the AARP.
