Is this a fly cruise package from P&O?  If so, I understand you are allowed to remain on the ship until buses will take you to the airport.  Just. It in your cabin.  If you are on the Arvia TA are they offering a flight package?  I would check on the boards here for P&O-UK, and look for a roll call for your cruise.  EM

there is an active roll for this cruise and there is a lot of discussion about return flights.

My wife booked this cruise (K322N) direct with P&O so not via a travel agent. It's a repositioning kind of cruise so we board Arvia in Southampton on Oct 27th and fly back from Bridgetown on November 10th.  I had a look for a roll call and there is one for Arvia (K322F) leaving Southampton on October 27th and ending in Antigua on November 18th so it looks like the same cruise. I'll have a look around there for tips.

  2. Hi All,

We end our P&O cruise in Bridgetown Barbados on November 10th and will obviously be kicked off the ship in the morning but our flight home isn't till 5pm. We're looking for options to kill the time and I've looked at airport lounges where there seems to be one called Airline Executive Lounge but I don't know if you can book in advance and from what I can find about it so far, it isn't anything special so might not be worth paying for access.  We're flying back with TUI airlines so does anyone know what time bag drop opens as we don't want to be stuck dragging cases round all day.

  3. I can thoroughly recommend BagsAndGo. We were in the same situation last year with 8 of us. They have pickup desks in all the Barcelona cruise terminals so you drop your bags with them and tell them what time to drop them at the airport. They will tell you where to meet them at the airport to collect your bags. You can then get the blue cruise bus that goes round the cruise terminals and will drop you in Barcelona (near to the bottom of LaRambla) so you can have a wander round. When you want to get to the airpoirt there's another bus service called Aerobus that picks up from the main square at the top of La Rambla and drops at the airport. You then meet BagsAndGo to collect your cases.   It all worked like clockwork for us. Hope you have a great time.  Here are the links for these services :-

  4. Just to feed back for those interested, I followed the suggestion posted by little britain and the whole day went like clockwork. We cancelled the 8 return RCI transfers while on-board and got a full refund so booked with Bags&Go to take all our luggage (11 bags). Collected our bags in the terminal at 8:30, wheeled them a few feet across to the Bags&Go desk and dropped them off, then hopped onto the Cruise Bus into town and walked up La Rambla to Placa De Cataluna.  Three of us got a taxi to the Camp Nou football stadium and took their basic tour, then went back to Placa De Cataluna to meet the rest of the family. The grandchildren loved feeding the pigeons so that made their day. Finally we took the Aerobus back to the airport (pre-booked that too) at 5pm where Bags&Go were already waiting with our bags all loaded onto trolleys ready for us to wheel away.

Superb service all round and turned a potentially boring day stuck in the airport into a bonus day in Barcelona.  Great suggestion from little britain !!

  5. Hi All,

We are about to sail on Wonder on the 7 night Med cruise that leaves from and returns to Barcelona. Originally our flights home to the UK were late morning but they are now late evening (20:55) meaning that we have to find something to do. I'm assuming we'll still get kicked off the ship in the morning and have airport transfers already paid for but as we are 5 adults and 3 kids, we don't relish the thought of spending many hours stuck at the airport with all our luggage and 3 bored kids. Aerobus into town is one option but only if we can drop our bags early. Has anyone else had this issue or know how early you can drop off bags at the BA bag drop?

I see that RC do a couple of trips on day 8 that include airport transfers but not cheap for 8 of us and we've already paid for round trip transfers once so don't know if they would refund part of those back.

    Any suggestions ?

  6. Thanks for all the replies so far. It was actually my wife that posted the question and should have specified that we're only really interested in the Refreshment Package, not the alcoholic beverage ones. We've had those included on some previous cruises so have taken advantage but we're not heavy drinkers and only really want the stuff covered by the Refreshment Package. I can understand the rule where all over 21's in the same stateroom must have a beverage package (to avoid sharing) but I'm not sure if the same applies for the Refreshment Package. I'll look over on the Royal Caribbean forum to see what I can find out. I know that some ships  including Explorer of the Seas have soda dispensing machines that detect the chipped mugs so what's to stop one person filling up their mug and then sharing it around?
