  1. Thank you so much for posting your experience! I am in exactly your situation, using a transport chair. I have already purchased the accessible excursion in Skagway but didn't know exactly how it worked.

I was on the train several years ago and I remember how difficult the steps were even with assistance. If questioned I'll remember to insist on the lift.

    Happy cruising.

  2. Just my daughter and I cruising this time and I'm bringing my transport wheelchair for excursions and a walker for getting around on the ship. My question is will the pusher push me on the ship in my transport chair while my daughter brings the walker on or must I use the ships wheelchair to board? If I must use ships wheelchair I'm not sure my daughter could handle the transport chair along with the walker. Ideas?

  3. I hope that's a change then. I'd appreciate it.

Did you see the bartender pour it from the bottle? I used to order Bailey's and they served the Brogan's without telling me. Finally one waiter pointed out that they didn't have Bailey's on board and asked if Brogan's would be OK. From then on I've made a point to check and it's always been Brogan's.

While Brogan's is a reasonably decent substitute (a little too thick for my taste), it isn't Bailey's.

Yes, saw the Baileys bottle. Both at the bar outside Horizon Court and by the IC. Enjoy!

  4. One of the "perks" of Club Class that was mentioned in the rollout was "Evening Canapés, upon request". Any comments from Previous CC folks that requested these delivered to their stateroom?

There will be a card in your room to hang on the door to order the evening canapes. We only ordered once as we just didn't "need" anything more to eat:p

As I recall there are 6 different types to choose from. You can have one of each or choose your favorites. The card must be out by 9PM for next day service. You are also given a timeframe to choose, much like the breakfast room service card.

They were fresh and tasted ok but not really anything to write home about.

Hello Caribill, The extra dish is offered when the menu is presented. However, they do know what will be offered at the next dinner if you ask the head waiter. He was happy to let us know.

The debarkation breakfast is the same menu as mdr, no extra prep dish. Held in the CC dining area. I loved it, no hunting for a chair, no chaos.

  6. My impressions of Club Class: In room upon boarding, 2 half bottles of Mondovi (1 red 1 white.) Paperwork listing CC amenities. New luxury bed (I found comfortable.) Glass of champagne offered and accepted:) Bathrobes hanging in closet (did not use so can't comment on wearability)

Embarcation lunch was available and open for all Da Vinci dining room. I did not notice if CC was in operation for lunch.

Club Class dining dinner: Starboard entrance, Greeter checked our cruise cards (which had a star) against a list. Welcomed us graciously, asked if we would like a 2 top or share. 1st night we did a table for 2 but the next table was so close we might as well have shared. The rest of the time we shared, sometimes table for 4, sometimes table for 6. Service began as soon as we were seated weather table was full or not. There were about 15 tables, a combo of 2, 4 and 6 tops.

Menu is same as MDR with the exception of 1 dish table side prep by the head waiter. We didn't eat in CC every night but what I remember being offered was: Sautéed shrimp, Steak Diane, Scallops (I had Orange Roughy from the MDR menu and asked to have the scallops added from the fresh prep) no problem. Pasta Primavera, Pasta with Pesto. I heard from another diner he made crepes on day we missed.

Something I haven't seen mentioned is breakfast was available on debarkation day (6:30-8:30) which I think is a great perk.

I enjoyed the flexibility of Club Class, we happened the be grandfathered in so the cost wasn't a factor this time and will see if the extra is worth it going forward.

  7. I've been checking out car services from San Pedro Cruise Terminal to our hotel (the Omni) in Los Angeles. Karmel.com quoted $82 and Execucar (part of Super Shuttle) quoted $71. That is for 4 people with luggage. Is one more reliable than the other? Experience?

We will be taking Amtrak home and the station is about a mile from the Omni.
