Most importantly, they overlook the one REAL player in this: the CDC. Nobody cares what Carnival, CLIA or Admiral Unicorn says ... only CDC will decide when cruising is possible again.

Only in the United States, I would drive or fly out of the country to cruise again...:)

Or it could mean that new boarding rules might invalidate that whole program, which would make sense. Remember, things aren't going to be the same.

This makes sense.  As long as I am able to go on a cruise, then I will just be happy to get on the ship...:)

Since you was in the casino, how was the smoke issue if any???  My wife and I spend some time in that area.

I am a smoker, so I didn't notice any smoke issues.  But I have been on cruises to where the smoke was so bad that it even bothered me.  I did not notice or hear anyone else complain about the smoke in the casino.

  5. I booked this cruise only because I received an Elite cruise that was too good to pass up.  This cruise included myself and my bestie, I have cruised 4 times with Carnival and it was her first cruise.  I am not a very good writer, just wanted to share my experiences that we had on this cruise.  The good to the bad

The layout of the ship - Loved it.  The boat was rocking, but could not be helped due to the weather.

Half Moon Cay - Loved it!  We rented a cabana and everything was perfect...:)  The food at the buffet was outstanding, with no side effects (more on that later).

Cabin - The bed were comfortable and it was always clean with fresh ice in the evenings.  The cabin was a little stuffy, so we asked for a fan after the first night and it helped out a lot.

Casino - This is where it started going bad.  The first time ever where I seen that you do not get paid 1000.00 if you hit a royal flush on video poker on SOME of the machines, when you bet 5x.  There were two machines that I accidently found and I am glad that I always look at the payout before I start playing, only paid like 375.00 if you play 5x instead of the usual 1000.00.  This really left a bad taste, as I feel sorry for the people who were playing but didn't look at the pay table.

The Elite casino host attitude was awful.  Maybe it was my personality and her personality clashed, but she is the only host that I have ever disliked.  I received my fun money and parking fees refunded with no issue.  The drink service was amazing!

Food - The food was good at the time that we ate it, but the afterwards were just awful!  I would have thought that I had a stomach flu or something, but I don't think it was that since we both experienced the same thing.  I have never smelled the smell what came out the other end in my life.  I have never experienced this before and I hope I never experience that smell again.  The only thing that I can describe the smell as is raw sewage.  This was through the whole cruise, with the exception of Half Moon Cay.

Overall, I don't think that I will ever sell again on the Pride, as the food kind of did me in.  I have already booked another cruise with Carnival....:)

I’m on the Pride now and we’re supposed to go to Bermuda. They gave us a letter saying if we divert it’s going to Grand Turk and Amber cove. We will know shortly

That explains why Pride is heading south instead of east this morning

FWIW, find a nail salon you trust at home and get them done before you leave.  Even if they could do it on the ship, you would be paying at least 4 times what you would at home.  I always prefer to leave for my vacation ready to go (nails done, hair freshly cut, etc.).

I usually do, but I have spa credit that I need to use up..:)

  8. I know that I got a full set of nails done on the ship before, but it has been a couple of years.  I looked at the service menu for the spa but I do not see that they offer acrylic nails or something similar.

Does anyone know if they still offer this service?  I will be sailing on the Pride...:)

Can you tell us what kind of offers you received before you walked away in 2017? Were you a big gambler?

Can you explain the way you used your phone to submit to urcomp, i'm not that informed in phones/cameras etc. Thanks!

I would receive some casino cash and discounted cabins.  I mainly play .25 video poker and my casino budget is usually around 800.00 for 7 days.  I don't walk off of the ship with any gambling money left and I did not hit any jackpots.  I have not heard of urcomp until yesterday, so I have not had a chance to use them yet.  I am a gambler, as any money that I win goes right back to the casino (unless I hit a big jackpot, which has not happened yet).

Yes, their plan did work because I was not planning on booking another cruise until 2020.  But the deal was too good to pass up.  They offered me an Elite deal with a free balcony.  They might still come ahead since I will be bringing more money for me to gamble with, it is a toss up since the free drinks anywhere will be included.

I believe that if you walk away from the cruise line for awhile, the offers will get better.  I have not cruised since 2017, but I received a very good Elite offer recently.
