  1. You usually get a choice at redemption for either slot play or table play. Or some combination.

if you’re ultra they will be expecting this and will give you fun chips for table play or credit for slot.

If you are echo and not on a set priority cruise they generally just give you cash.

  2. For me they serve as a confirmation point that the correct benefit package has been applied prior to embarking. They deal with arranging transportation from airports, selecting perks and generally making sure I’m set to embark.

I also get communications from them about non-public events and tournaments from time to time.

Generally though, I’d say they are probably dealing with quite a few more clients per host then the land based counterparts.

ECHO. I just got it for the year after only one 8 day cruise (usually sail Celebrity}. $2500 freeplay plus free balcony plus all the benefits of Elite (Cheers, wifi, gifts, treats, car service, $300 on board credit, etc.) on any cruise til the end of October. Limit of 6 cruises. Looks like I can use it even on 2 or 3 day cruises too.

Supposedly the top few hundred gamblers are invited.

Nice! Did you use it? If so, worth the hype?

  4. Has anyone heard of this?  A search turned up nothing but I overheard an interesting conversation on a recent sailing about another level above Ultra that nets out Ultra level benefits (fun play, room type, platinum, transport, etc) on just about any sailing, marked as Ultra or not. Including a dedicated host onboard and a dedicated team at corporate.

There were a few clues in the code of some older Carnival players club websites cached in google but nothing on any of the boards.

    Just curious, thanks!

  5. Hi all, new here and I'm wondering if my experience is normal or if I'm missing something.

I like to gamble on vacations and decided to give cruising a try as an alternative to Vegas.  I'm a sucker for slots.

I picked Carnival mostly for the port proximity and racked up 10k-ish points on the first cruise.  Didn't lose horribly but didn't end up in the black either. Got a DOU card and some wine but nothing else onboard.  On the last day I received a 50% off INSIDE stateroom discount for another cruise.

Not really my bag, I like balconies but figured I had a few more vacation days so I repeated a cruise and this time won quite a bit and of course, put it all back in.  Up around 14k points this last time, only I didn't realize until the second go that Carnival resets your points total each cruise.  Lots of hand-pays though.

Same offer.  No recognition and nothing spectacular, just 50% off an inside.  Oh, wait, I got cookies this time.  They weren't great.  I still ate them. 🙂

This seems odd to me compared to Vegas where the level of slot play which puts me on a host's radar and generates free stays and free play offers far, FAR more attractive.

Is this in line or do I have a bad host on the ship or something?  Apples and Oranges maybe, this isn't Vegas and they don't comp like vegas?

So confused, any insights would be most welcome. I love ships, was just trying to combine passions. 😞
