  1. I'm a bit confused.  We are staying in the Haven (family of 5) and when I went to book the GSC Ocean View Villa for our December 14-21 Breakaway Cruise it is charging $699 per person.  For a grand total of $3,495.00.  Please tell me this is an error?  We stayed in one of these for our Ruby Princess cruise back in 2011 and paid an amount similar ($699 to rent the entire villa, not pp).  It was the highlight of our cruise, so we wanted to something similar for this cruise.  If it is $699/pp that's insane.

  2. We are on a BA eastern sailing 12/14-12/21 with 3 kids.  We booked prior to our 2019-2020 school schedule being released based on prior calendars.  You would know school decided only to be closed that Friday.  So he will miss.  We booked due to the lower pricing for this sailing.  We are 16 across from the Haven pool.  This is our first sailing with kiddos and we hope that they will be in splash academy for the hours it is opened.

  3. When we booked we elected to take the NCL trip insurance.  After reading here, it is much less expensive purchasing it on your own.  I think we are paying $818/total for our family of 5.  Using the website recommended above, I can get better coverage and the premium is half of the cost.  Do you know know if you can cancel the trip insurance through your cruise line?  I messaged NCL but they cannot help me since we used a TA.  I just wanted to be sure we could get it refunded or removed from our balance prior to bothering her.  TIA!!

Have an OS booked for Alaska in August. It's expensive, I like the experience and am pretty sure my 75yo mother will have the time of her life. I'm paying for life to be a little less hectic, a little easier, a little more pampered and and little more up market for her; not sure that makes me an idiot, but maybe. I made some $ busting my ass in a medtech startup, taking some financial risk and making good decisions; that's how I afford it.

Anyway...  FYI... our cabin price has dropped $800pp since I booked it and NCL have refunded the $1600 difference in full. Not feeling ripped off here.

I can't afford a Ferrari much as I might like one... but that doesn't mean they are a bad company or product.

How did you get NCL to refund you?  Did you have to call when you saw the price go down?  That is great to know!  Thank you!!

I haven't tracked which ship you'll be on, but don't most NCL have the same 2BR suites that are in the Haven, but NOT in the Haven?  Same amount of space for 5 or 6, but much less expensive, and still get the various "suite perks".

Not according to the research I've done.  The only other option is an oceanview and that is way too small of a cabin for the 5 of us.  Plus no privacy.

Our December 14-21 Breakaway sailing is currently selling the cheapest Haven for $8200 without drinks, dining, or airfare and is $9700 with those perks added.  We are booked in a mini suite for $3200 with drinks and dining included in that price.  Yes, a mini isn't the Haven, but it's almost a third of the price.  We loved the Haven on the Epic, but that was before this bidding nonsense and we actually got a great last minute upsell when I called.

We are on the same cruise Dec 14-21 currently staying in the Haven.  I feel forced to book the Haven due to having 3 kids.  Due to my kids ages, I don't feel comfortable booking 2 rooms.  The Haven suites allow up to 5 people.  Maybe this is why there are more kids in the Haven?  I booked our cruise with the high pricing.  I'd love book a cheaper room and bid up, but the only way we could do that is to book 2 rooms.  Then we'd risk the rooms being separated.  So yeah I am one cruisers paying an absurd amount of money for our Haven suite.  This is our first time cruising NCL.  We've been on Princess and RCCL pre-kids.  We were trying to find a kid friendly ship.  If there is a better ship where I can have a better experience for less money, I am all ears!!  I checked MSC but every time I put in 5 people it says the rooms are all booked.  Leads me to believe they don't have a room that accommodates a party of 5.

Our cruise has the 6 free, we opted to drive instead of fly (700 pp was ridiculous), and it was around 9500 w/out gratuities.  Which boils down to 1900 pp.

I'm reading all these negative reviews and thinking I should cancel.  One of the most important things is the Splash Academy being limited.  If we can't get my kiddos into their respective age group programs it will make for a miserable trip.
