  1. My wife and I have downloaded the new app and when we log in it shows my name on both phones and she's shown as an additional passenger. Is that correct, or should she be the named person on her phone? And if it is correct, can she change it so that her name is shown on her phone?

  2. First time cruisers here just looking for some general info about leaving the ship. The plan is to get ourselves from San Pedro to San Diego at the end of our cruise on Discovery Princess.

Will Princess allocate a time to disembark or is it just a case of standing in line?  And if we do have to stand in line, when can we expect to be off the ship? Late morning, lunchtime, afternoon?? The cruise that we're on is fully booked so it will be busy.

Also, will there be plenty of taxis at the cruise terminal when we get off? We're currently thinking that we'll get the train to San Diego so will obviously have to get ourselves to the train station!

    Thanks.

  3. Thanks all. It is indeed the eclipse cruise we're on.

We've paid in full and our cabin class is MB, does that get us any preferential treatment?  And for those also on that cruise, can you hazard a guess as to how many formal nights there are likely to be and when they will be? I was thinking that 8th April might be a likely date!

And thanks for the tip about the restaurant bookings, we'll get them done very soon.

  4. We're booked on the Discovery next year and the cruise is fully booked. As it's our first cruise we're not sure what to expect, will there be lots of queues and if so how can we plan ahead to avoid too much waiting?

There's also a tender at one of the ports, presumably that could be a lengthy process too?

    Thanks.

Aww, poor Mikey. With an attitude like yours, I'm hoping you forego Princess altogether, at least any cruises I'm on.

    Happy sailing!

You won't be too surprised to hear that I couldn't give a toss what you think. If we're on the same cruise you can get me a pint. You'll presumably be at the bar long before me.

Sorry to tell you this but this is from Princess about the BSE:

"only available to residents of 50 United States or D.C., Canada, and Puerto Rico."

I think we should be ok. It's quoted as £35 per person per day for us. Hopefully our travel agent can sort it for us.

  7. We've been offered a free upgrade to R616 on our upcoming Hawaii cruise and I had a quick look at the reviews. There's not much that's specific to that room but there is a shocker from 2008 that complains about noise from above, specifically from a small tiled area in Horizon Court, right above that room.

I know that this ship has been refurbished since then and I was wondering if an issue like this is likely to have been sorted?

    Thanks.

  8. Apologies if this has been covered already, I've had a wee look and can't see the answer anywhere.

We've booked an internal cabin on the Emerald Princess cruise to Hawaii on 14th April through a travel agent here in the UK. Am I right in thinking that we can cancel and re-book, taking advantage of the stateroom upgrade offer?

Are there any UK users who have done something like this in the past?

    Thanks.

  9. Thanks for all the replies.  We've been looking at this again in the last few days, specifically Kauai, and we think we'll do our own thing there. It looks like there's plenty to do within walking distance of the port. We might jump on the hop on hop off bus too.

We've booked the Hilo tour that I mentioned in my first post so things are starting to come together.
