  1. I understand the sentiment.  I was unable to cruise for a few years because of ill parents. I was quite surprised to find my status was gone when I recently started cruising again.

Last time I was on the Divina it was. There’s probably just confusion with all the new drink packages. Which one do you have?

The non-alcoholic package. I've asked multiple people.

They say machine is out of order. They should say "machine is out of order, but we are substituting gelato" but they don't do that.

  3. While on Diviana today (02APR19) waiting  in Marseille for the crowds to clear, some staff rolled this thing out. I thought it might be the takeaway ice cream included in my package.

I asked one of the staff if it was. He said "there is no takeaway ice cream".

Twenty days of something I paid for, but never received. Buyer beware.

  4. There are machines but they keep them reserved for the 2 daily cycling classes. TWELVE nice bikes. They even take the seats off. The only answer I could get, after numerous queries, is "nobody would pay $13 for a class if they could use them for free". I understand this is a business but they could open up this equipment for the other 14 hours a day they aren't being used. This is a pic of the bikes during a class. Nobody is taking the class.

The inability to workout is a deal-breaker for me.

  5. I spoke with the spa manager later in the day. She says they would try to have everything open by 6am from now on. So far, they have.

I'm not the only one there at that hour. There's usually 10 people there when it opens. The gym is quite small. Only two ellipticals, 9 treadmills and 3 bikes (plus the dozen bikes reserved for classes). For 3000 passengers this is painfully small.

  6. Having been on all your lines, MSC is simply a step, down. You get what you pay for.

All the staff have been great. Special mentions to:

    Ronaldo (cabin steward)

Girlie, Isabella, Maria and Charlie (Piazza el Doge)

Cosme and Eric (Table 815 Villa Rosa)

    Package Description

"Refresh yourself whenever you like with a choice of alcohol-free cocktails, sodas, energy drinks, bottled mineral water, flavored water, fruit juices, a wide range of premium coffee drinks, hot chocolate delights, organic tea and soft ice cream. The drinks included can be ordered in all onboard bars, as well as the self-service buffet and restaurants, excluding specialty

    restaurants."

Download this chart to your phone and show it to the bartenders, "All zero-alcohol mocktails from the bar list".

Could you do me a favor? Would you ask in the ice cream bar by the pool if those (normaly 6 flavors a day) ice cream cones are included in this package? Milkshakes? I know for sure Easy and Premium do not include them, but NA Pckg states soft ice cream???

    Thanks in advance!!!

I've asked about the takeaway ice cream several times. It has not been available the whole 14 days I've been aboard.

It's supposed to be available in the afternoons around the center pool on deck 14.

  8. I'm on board Divina, now.

I've had some trouble getting particular drinks at particular bars.

One laughable one was the Nohito, even when it was the drink of the day.  The zero sugar hot chocolate, sugar free red bull, and decaf esspresso can also be hard to come by.

On day two (or 3) I went to guest services to try and cancel the package. I was told they would but I would have to pay full price for everything I had ordered (this was from the bar manager).  He said I had "high usage".

I declined that offer and replied "if you think that was high use, you haven't seen anything yet."

    I've been keeping a spreadsheet since that encounter. I've been hitting $75 - $100 with a little work. I win 😝

Even stranger, who take time out to answer my message and post on the MSC forum about the gym on MSC Divinia (twice) but still no message about Costa sold to MSC that you heard on Divinia!!!

    And blocked.

It seems strange when two cruise companies are involved you chose only to post on the Costa forum and not on the much more active MSC forum!

Thanks for your valuable input 🙄

How many sea days do you have in a row now?

Bermuda isn't really near anything, so substituting another port definitely increases sea days.

Tomorrow (Saturday 3/23/19) will be the 5th see day in a row. We make it to Ponte Delgada on Sunday for an overnight stop.

There was going to be 4 sea days after Bermuda, so it's not that big of a change.

Is Tenerife a substitute for Bermuda or a scheduled port for your cruise?  If it is scheduled, Bermuda charges should be refunded.  If Tenerife is substituted, those charges may be applied to Tenerife.  Just my thought.

It's a substitute. We were to be in Bermuda today and tomorrow (3/20 -3/21). Instead we are at sea headed to Ponte Degada (2 days early) then to SCdT.

It's not $60 a day, it's currently $60 maximum. According to this article in the Royal Gazette http://www.royalgazette.com/tourism/article/20190307/new-taxes-on-cruise-ship-passengers-tabled it's currently $20 per passenger per 24 hour period with a maximum of $60. The new proposal calls for ships berthed at the Dockyard to be charged $25 per person per day up to a maximum of $75 with ships docked in Hamilton and st. George remaining at $20 per person per day, plus there would be a $22 per person fee imposed for ships carrying more than 4,000 passengers from April 1 to October 31, and in addition a $16 per passenger departure tax imposed between April 1 and October 31.

Correct. All I remembered was the $60. Should have went back and reread the article.

    Thanks for the info.

NCL has returned fees when we missed their island.

If it's only $20 (or $25 since we are at King's Wharf) it will probably be a wash. We were to be there 2 days. I'll ask. All they can do is say "no", at which point there will be an argument. 😂

  14. Does anyone know how much the port fees are for King's Wharf?

The reason I ask is MSC Divina has just diverted from Bermuda to Santa Cruz de Tenerife because of weather.

Personally, I don't care about the change. I just want to make sure the change is reflected in the port fees.

I trust MSC about as far as I can throw them.

    Thanks!
