  1. We will be on the Liberty in June of 2024 and when i was looking up excursions i came across the Rose Hall tour and shopping experience. Has anyone ever done this? I have been to the shopping mall before in pervious sailings doing the hop on hop off bus which was a nice place but I've never been to the hall itself and have seen it on tv shows as well.

  2. I'll be on the Glory (it goes out the 19th of september, btw)...and they have changed us from a western to an eastern toyr.... and so we get Bimini, Nassau and Freeport. While I'm not happy with the changes..,. it's still a vacation and I've never been to the bahamas

Yeah update; you can def still buy it right now for our cruise in Sept.

I'm sure you can, but I'm willing to bet that you'll get the dreaded letter later. I got mine a few days ago (sept 19th sailing),.

We are sailing on the 9/27 Magic sailing and FTTF has been sold out since we booked it. We recently saw from several sources that Carnival was pausing FTTF for the near future but I literally just checked my sailing and its available again? Does anyone have any solid info as to what's going on with this? Also, we are cruising with a toddler, which means we out in for an exemption. I'd assume that FTTF would be a waste of money for us?

Sadly, i think it will be cancelled (the FTTF) for your cruise... I have one going out on the 19th and mine was just cancelled, I got an email saying they will be sending the cost back to how we booked it. I was disappointed, but it's understandable. Heck, I'm just gonna be happy to be sailing again!

The exemption form is not working for me. My details on the form are correct, cruise paid in full, cruise listed as one of those where exemptions are needed.  No idea why.  I've been on hold for an hour.  Any ideas, I'd appreciate them.

at least you got an email... I seem to get far and few emails from carnival. So, i called and left a message for my PVP about it and some other things. I just don't want my cruise to be cancelled up under me because i didn't get an email about this. I'm vaccinated as well as my partner.

  6. So, I'm going to be sailing out of N.O on september 19th, and have booked the garden inn. I wonder if anyone has stayed there before and if it's a nice place? I've stayed at many places before in N.O but, the places i've stayed before were sold out by the time i went looking for a room, no biggie. I know it's close to the port, but does anyone have any tips for places close to eat and see?

  7. I'm super curious too because I'm going on the Glory on september 19th and while I think the cruise will go on I'm wondering what the ports of call will be. Originally Montego Bay, GC and Cozumel... Something tells me that two of the three won't be going (I know GC, but i wonder if Montego Bay will). Kinda bumbed about GC because I love that stop, but understand why they are doing what they are doing, but i am a planner and want to plan my days out!!!!

  8. I cannot wait for my cruise (september 19th!!!), I have sailed on the valor, dream, conquest out of New Orleans and LOVE watching the mississippi as we make out way towards the gulf, very relaxing but once it gets dark (usually sail in Jan or september), so it can get dark quick or not but i still like watching the lights.

I've read about it. Does carnival go there?

I did a combo last time of the falls and green caves. Was only a little more $ to do two things. Green caves has the cavern down below with lots of steps down where a 007 was filmed. There are many places in jamaica where it was filmed but this was one.

Yes, they do! When i was looking at excursions on carnivals site it caught my eye and wondered if it was a good one, there are some good reviews but i like to get a wider view.

  10. Has anyone done the excursion in Jamaica where they go to Rose hall and then the mall that is near there? I was thinking about doing this when coming to MB in september. I'm not much of a beach person, and have already been to the falls and thought that this one would be good for someone whom loves to see the history of a place. If there are other good history places please let me know!

I wasn't sure, didn't remember seeing it offered before. I think it is a nice option for seafood lovers. Now I need to find out if there is an Elegant Night on 5 day cruises? We have a B2B on Valor next June.

There usually is one elegant night on the 5 night cruises if my memory is to be believed. Usually the first sea day

I agree with above and Ill add on to these great places

Ruby Slipper for breakfast and Bloody Mary

Acme oyster house for BBQ Oysters

Palace Cafe for the bananas Foster for desert at the end of the day

Ruby Slipper's shrimp and grits was pretty good but, Surrey's Cafe's shrimp and grits was SOOO GOOD! Well, pretty much everything at surrey's was good!

  13. I tend to get FTTF if I am going out of New Orleans.... Mostly use it to get on early and get off early (I mainly drive down to NO and it is so good to be one of the first out and already on the highway when most are just getting off the ship). I have only had to go to services a few times, but i like that there is a dedicated line to use.

However, If i go out of any other port i don't buy FTTF

Also you cant transfer FTTF from one ship to the next i was led to believe

You can't.... I had to buy it for the cruise that I books after my first one was cancelled, they do not transfer.. Now, the other things i did order (water, booze, etc) did, however....

  15. I would have to say Jamaica, BUT, I wouldn't say all of it is pushy... we found that Montego Bay is the worst.. but Ocho Rios was pretty good. I am one of those people who don't like others up in their faces, else I tend to get indignant and even after telling people in MB that I was not interested they continued to invade personal space and try to pull you into their shops... I just gave up and walked back to the van that had been taking us around the city because I just didn't want to either fight, or lose my mind.

The least I've ever seen was Grand Cayman, they would ask you to come into their shop... you said nah, they would smile and look for others to come in. Loved that approach!
