  1. My best guess is that Spirit replaces Paradise on 4/5 night sailings from Tampa, followed by Paradise which relocates from Jacksonville to cover previously scheduled Ecstasy itineraries. The 4/5 night sailings from Tampa consistently perform very well for the line.

Elation will eventually be replaced out of Port Canaveral and sail from Mobile next year.

Here is the statement for what it's worth.  It could change once the re-org plan is approved.  They do state that they "continue to work productively with Pullmantur" so read that any way you wish.

However, a spokesperson for Celebrity Cruises said that despite its support for the Pullmantur’s revival, it has not agreed to sell or lease any of its ships.

“While we fully support the reorganisation efforts of Pullmantur and continue to work productively with Pullmantur as it develops its new business plan, it is important to clarify that we have not agreed to lease or sell any of our ships, including any Celebrity Millennium-class ships, to Pullmantur,” the spokesperson said.

It is basically a "non denial denial." The current CEO of Pullmantur, Richard Vogel, is the same person who was in charge of TUI Cruises in Germany when it had started with the former Galaxy and Mercury in 2008.

  3. The possible transfer of Infinity & Constellation to Pullmantur could perhaps have something to do with this. If I am correct, Celebrity generally releases their Europe sailings prior to Royal Caribbean.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your message.

They are a publicly traded company and won't confirm until there is an official press release.

I will point out that, Summit at least, has been heavily chartered (Jazz Cruises etc) for the first few months of 2022. Don't know about Millie -- or the other two not-yet-revolutionized M-Class ships.

My best guess would be that Millennium would end up replacing Infinity on the South America itineraries announced by X last week. With this said, the previously scheduled cruises for Constellation & Millennium during the 2021-22 season would likely be cancelled as part of the redeployment. The Millie & Summit could cover the Venice sailings for future seasons.

Carnival Fantasy is now underway at 15.9 knots heading to Turkey.

Fascination is nearing the completion of its Suez Canal transit, but still has no destination programmed in besides "Suez Canal."

Fascination is now headed to Marsaxlokk, Malta where the Sovereign from Pullmantur is currently docked.

We're booked on Feb 21st out of PR.   I'm thinking at this point it's probably PR telling Carnival that they won't be sailing from there until Sept 2021.   If it's eventually cancelled, this will be the 4th one we've lost to the virus... ugh.

Looking at the PR restrictions, the cruise ports are closed with no date for re-opening.  All travelers upon entrance need a negative covid test within the past 72 hours to avoid quarantine... facemasks required in public...      Not looking good.

Fascination and Ecstasy are both circling off the coast of Sri Lanka awaiting orders. I anticipate an announcement shortly that the ships will sadly be retired.

  8. A couple years back an end was put to the cruises to nowhere. Not sure why but they are no longer legal out of the US. So they have to call at some foreign port, even if just sailing out overnight.

The cruises to nowhere were not in compliance with the Jones Act regulations as the ship sails into international waters. My understanding is that for the inaugurals, the port sometimes makes exceptions.

  9. Although Splendor is doing an Alaska cruise as a journeys cruise... it does not have the Azipods which makes it not an ideal Ship for regular Alaska cruise season... they need the maneuvering that Azipods provide ... my money is still on Splendor going to Australia... The closed roof pool is also attractive to Asia market as they prefer not to get too much sun. I think a Conquest class will replace Splendor in Long Beach, Glory or Valor....

Good catch! I didn't think about the Azipods. With that said, wouldn't that be a downgrade though as the Splendor is newer than the Conquest class?

I guess a Dream or Vista class ship could feasibly depart from LGB. Could those ships fit under the Bridge of Americas??
