  1. We're booked in a B6 Large Balcony Room on Breakaway. I called their Special Assistance desk yesterday to see if DH needs to bring his own distilled water and extension cord. They noted our reservation and room #s and said the distilled water will be waiting in our cabin, but that we should bring a 4- or 6-foot extension cord with us. Also said if the bed/table arrangement dosn't work for his CPAP that our cabin steward will be happy do any rearranging. Thought this info might help someone else too.

    Thanks for this information!

  2. My 2nd body it pushing 9 YO. It;s a Nikon D3s a great camera for somethings but not cruise/travel friendly. I'm currently using a Nikon D810 for 80-90% of my photography. I considering a D500 or the new D850. On odd days it's the D500 on even days it's the D850. The D500 would work but it's also dated. The newest one is the D850 but the $$$$ one. Keep telling myself I really don't need it but that 'want' keeps banging away at me...

We see what next week brings.

I just got the D850 earlier this month as a birthday gift from my husband. My "old" camera is the D810. I love the ability to shoot and have pics transferred right to an app on my phone for easy uploading so I will be bringing the D850 on my next cruise. :D
  3. Interesting...I just booked a balcony and an inside directly across the hall for our March 2018 sailing on the Norwegian Pearl. I got two confirmations. One with my husband and I in the balcony cabin and the other with our two kids (15 & 11 at time of sailing) in the inside. Didn't seem to be an issue.

  4. Despite reading the negative reviews, we had a fabulous cruise last week on the MSC Divina! The food was ok, I never got the hang of navigating around the ship, and I was not a big fan of the shows but those things did not spoil our trip. It was a great overall experience and I would definitely book another MSC cruise in the future using the same criteria that I always use...itinerary and price.

  5. The food looks good to me!!! Thanks!!

Do you know if they also serve lemonade ? I usually like that instead of tea, or even half and half

They have lemonade at lunch in the Buffet area. Super sweet so I always mixed it with the iced tea. I never asked for it at dinner in the MDR.

  6. We were in YC March 15-22. I can't compare it to another cruise line (I've been on 7 different major lines), because I've never experienced anything like it. It truly is like sailing on your own private yacht. No crowds, no silly rules (like having to check out a towel!), no bar tabs, no assigned seating, no imposed dining schedule. It is worth every penny.

I will definitely be giving the YC a try the next time we sail MSC!

  7. I Puffi (The Smurfs) - Mini & Junior Club hours were generally 9am-12:30pm; 2:30pm - 5pm; and 6pm - 11:00pm. Grafitti's - Young & Teens Club hours were 10am - 12:30pm; 3pm - 5pm; and 8pm - Midnight.

My kids are 11 and 7 so they were considered Juniors. They only went 3 times during the week....The 9am -12:30pm sessions on the sea days so my husband and I could go work out in the gym and one night for dinner since they were annoying me and I wanted to enjoy the gala night. :-)

  8. We were aboard the March 22- 29th sailing of the MSC Divinia. It was not perfect, I loved the cruise. We have cruised 4 cruise lines and while the Divina's food wasn't our favorite, it was pretty good. Here's what I ate for the most part...I forgot to take pictures on the last night or so....

  9. I am in cabin 11011 on Divina for the Nov.7/14 Celtic Thunder theme cruise. Can anyone who has stayed in that cabin, or one close by, comment on how much motion you feel, given it is at the bow (I think?) of the ship? I do get motion sick fairly easily so am wondering how it compares to being mid-ship.

    Thanks.

I prefer a midship cabin but one was not available so we will be in 11030 next month so I will let you know. :-)

  10. Thanks! I am booking today and this information will definitely help.

    1) Aurea Balcony Suites

They all have disappointing balconies other than that there is not much difference between the other than height above the sea

    2) Aurea Panoramic window suites

They all have a a metal "wind deflector" cover the view from the lower portion of the window. You can see the wind delfectors in the image below.

    3) Balcony cabins

Deck 14's overhang affects many cabins on deck 13 and 12 and to a lesser extent deck 11. These is most pronounced on the eccesed parts of the ship.

The most sought after cabins are those on decks 10 and 11 on the stern as they have very large balconies , but come with a warning about water falling from the infinity pool and window washing operations on decks 14 and above
