  1. Last month we had cabin F721 for our 1st cruise.  So probably similar to B721

Nothing negative to report, we really enjoyed the cabin

I think someone has done a YouTube review/video of F721.

    Hope you enjoy your cruise

I believe the schools in Scotland break up for summer 2 weeks before the schools in England.

The private (fee paying) schools break up for the summer at the end of June.

There will also be a number of families that will take their children out of school before the end of term ( especially as not much happens in the last couple of weeks of the summer term )

  3. I can’t thank the catering and waiters of the Pennisular Restaurant enough.  Cruising with special dietary needs ( diary free)  was so  so simple.

I was invited to coffee with the head waiter on the first morning.  All food for those with special dietary needs is cooked in separate  area within the kitchen.

Each evening I was given the menus for the next day by the head waiter, and I would make my selections and if something wasn’t suitable an alternative was suggested. And at least once every evening he would check that I was happy with the food.   We always eat dinner at tables for 8 and when the menu were handed out I would notify the waiter of our cabin number and that I had preordered, my food would magically appear when everyone else was severed   Milk and butter alternatives where always available in the restaurants.  The only time there was a delay was during breakfast when I wanted mushrooms not cooked in butter.   On one occasion we had afternoon tea (pre ordered).  I only had sandwiches and two lovely cakes,  which was fine.

in the buffet apparently there are always two trained staff to help those with dietary needs (they should be wearing orange approns )

  4. Just back from a week on the. Britannia.  We must have docked in Stravanger by 7.30 / 8am and we’re off the ship by 8.30 . We didn’t have anything booked, but really enjoyed Stravanger.  The weather help as it was a sunny 17c .  The only problem as the 40min queue to get back onboard

  5. I always think smart causal is always hard to get right.  Especially for men, they seem to focus on the casual, where as women tend to focus on the smart.

The problem is that it’s all open too so much self interpretation, based on life experiences, which means one persons view of smart casual is very different to another’s

  6. We will interesting to see if they can do a dairy/lacto free version as butter/cream is usually a key ingredient In an afternoon tea.

Everywhere seems to differ to how they manage gluten and lacto free. An example is we had planned to go to Betty’s last time we visited York.  But Betty’s view butter as an estenial ingredient to all their cakes and the only option would have been fruit salad

  7. We’ve just booked our 1st cruise to see the Norwegian Fjords on the Britannia leaving on the 27th April. So would appreciate any tips for a first time cruiser

Just wondering what to expect on the 1st night / evening.  I think our broading slot is 3pm.

We’re Freedom Dining,, so wondering which restaurant would be the best bet for the 1st evening.

Also any guidance about special diets.  I’m completely Lacto/Diary Free and additional have a Salmon allergy.
