Oh good grief. "Posted ... In Cuba" means it was posted in the Cuba forum. I have no connection with these people other than being a satisfied customer. No good deed goes unpunished it seems.

    Oh..sorry....

So I might be wrong and I do apologize in that case,  but I still have the impression you are pushing too much that company in a thread opened to write comments on a different one.

  2. Personally I can tell that our driver Jose spoke a great English and we had an amazing time with Havanacar. We were also offered an extra guide to join us during the car portion of our 6 hours tour if we wanted to but we declined the offer as we were already 4 plus the driver and thought we might have been a bit too tight.

Your repeated references to the other agency make me think that you are manager or a person close to them making a covert advertisement.

And actually in a previous thread you wrote you were corresponding with the agency you had the tour with and were reporting they are still in the business but actually it seems that you " posted" the message from Cuba.

Enclosed is a screenshot where it is clearly specified " Posted Saturday at 1.36 am in Cuba"

  3. The official exchange rate between USD and CUC is fixed at 1 USD: 0.87 CUC.

It does not make any difference if you change at the terninal, in a bank or in any hotel.

You will always get 0.87 CUC for any USD you wanna exchange.

Does this type of trip/ excursion qualify for people to people. I would think so but just checking.

    Thank you

Support to cuban people is the more appropriate visa category for tours offered by local private agencies.

  5. We could not have been happier choosing Havanacar

Our 3 hour walking tour was better than we expected.
Kenya, our guide was very informative. He answered all our questions and knew just what to show us. We also took a 3 hour classic car tour with Jose in a stunning Ford 1955 Convertible. Again, very informative.
Both guides were flexible to ensure we saw everything on our list and much more. Both guides made us feel very safe.

It was very easy to meet Kenya. She was waiting at the entrance of an hotel less than 200 meters from the terminal.

All was very easy from the booking with Stefano who literally replied my emails in less than 5 minutes to the drop off at the terminal at the end of the tour.

And the price was much better than the ship. I Highly recommend this company!

  6. Me and my friend brought some pencils, colors and other school stuff and asked our guide to stop at an orphanage to leave it.

It was really appreciated by the orphanage manager.

We were advised not to go to the Hotel Nacional because of the sonic attacks. Still visited there. Beautiful place. Had no problems.

That is a simple excuse to try to keep tourists away from all the top sites owned by the government...including the National Hotel.
