Any idea approx how much from vendors offering this ?
In 2019, I paid either $30 or $35 which included admission to both the Fortress of the Bear and the Raptor Center as well as roundtrip transportion from the Harrigan Centennial Center. Looking forward to doing this excursion again later this year.

In Ketchikan - the Whale's Tail Quilt Shop is in the Salmon Landing shopping ctr which is in walking distance from the cruise ships.
Keep this link for future reference:

Looking forward to meeting you all. I travel with a tiger mascot named El Tigre and we are doing this cruise plus the one after it that celebrates the New Year.

What a great name - The Quackerdam!
I was lucky enough to see the big duck and the baby duck in San Pedro, CA in 2014. Seeing the duck had been on my bucket list for years.
They are really very charming in person!

Thank you so much Kazu and all the nice friends on Cruise Critic! We are looking forward to a wonderfully relaxing and scenic cruise!! :D

I did this same itinerary in 2015 and will be doing it again in a few days!:D
For Kodiak Island, I recommend Memory Makers - excellent tour and much by way of scenic beauty. Alas that particular day, the bears decided to stay warm and dry indoors so we didn't see any bears. The rain cleared up within an hour.

For Homer, I recommend taking the free school bus shuttle to The Spit. From there, I would take the town's Hop On Hop Off Trolley. It is cheaper and has more stops as part of its route compared to HAL's. One of the stops was the Pratt Museum. The driver was a great tour guide - so knowledgeable - occasionally making detours to get closer to eagles, etc. or stopping for photo opportunities.

re Anchorage - The Quilted Raven is in walking distance from the Convention Ctr. (I'm on HAL and we actually dock directly in Anchorage). Please check that they will be open for cruise season.
Just a quick note re the quilt shop in Skagway: they keep Flat Rate Post Office boxes right at the register to mail back your purchases and add the cost to your tab! Not that any of us quilters know anything about buying too much fabric!;p
My quilting friend and I are taking a HAL cruise in June with 8 ports of call which means 8 quilt shops! This is our second time on this itinerary and we look forward to seeing all of the quilt shops again.

Habubabu - sailing on Amsterdam on June 5, 2017. Fourth Alaskan cruise and second time doing the "14 day Great Alaska Adventure".
Thank you so much for doing this!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post so much good information. My quilting friend and I are taking this cruise in October. It is her first cruise and all of the details in the posts (Fun Times, menus, photos) will enhance her preparations.
Best wishes for the remaining cruise!

Our formal nights were first Tuesday (At Sea day), first Sunday (At sea before ANC) and second Saturday (at sea before Victoria). Like I said earlier those were our three best meals in the main dining room. The best meal of the whole cruise was formal night before Victoria in main dining room (surf & turf) which was better than one P/G dinner that we had.
In the bathroom was sink hand soap, and shower had shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispensers. We took and mostly used our own.
Greatly appreciated SightCRR! :)

I am on the June 29th sailing and was wondering when the formal nights were on this cruise.
Also which toiletries were provided in the bathroom?
Thank you in advance :)for answering all of our questions about this cruise.

Thank you so much for taking the time to create such a detailed and informative set of posts re the cruisetour. :):):)
My father and I have wanted to do a cruisetour for sometime and you have answered so many of our questions with your posts.
Happy future travels to you!

On a Christmas cruise I took a cheap artificial green wreath and tied hard candy and other wrapped candy to the door and then hung a pair of scissors from it and a note that said Merry Christmas help yourself. Everyone loved it. I loved hearing people stop outside our door and their excitement over getting a piece of candy.
What a great idea! Thank you so much for sharing.:):)
I hope to do this with either candy or mini-ornaments on my December cruise.

Will be sending the info to your email shortly. Hope we do not drain the slots at the end of September when I get on the Golden and run our Slot Pull. Have fun.
Thank you so much - the spreadsheet has already arrived!
Have fun on the Golden in September. Keep us posted about your winnings!:)
Don't worry - there will always be money in a casino . . .:p

I would also like a copy please! I am organizing the slot pull on my Hawaiian cruise.
Thank you for your kindness!:)

:DI would love it as well!:D

At a local dollar store (not one of the franchises), I found tubes of moisturizing shampoo, body wash and body lotion. Each tube is filled with 7 ounces of a creamy product (not a liquid that can leak out) and features a licensed character such as Disney Princesses, Pixar Cars, Dora the Explorer, etc.
I think these tubes will be great for cruising. I shall try the shampoo this week.

I plan on making a door decoration warning my fellow passengers that we are cruise novices (thought virgin might be a problem for some travelers) and might be caught ...
Taking too many pictures
Hoarding towel animals
having too much luggage etc.
Please help me add to the list things that scream first cruise! Please keep it clean.
Participating in every single activity available
Eating every meal and then some!

Apologies for the delay in replying. Just a vendor in front of the Harrigan Ctr. I had seen him there in 2018 and was delighted he was there in 2019. I'm hoping he will be there this time.
