    Hi suehal,

    Thanks for this info.

    no medical conditions

I want to clarify your answer because many people don't realize that the pre-existing medical condition exclusion also includes your non-traveling family members. For example, if one of your parents, children, siblings, in-laws, etc, who are staying home have some medical condition that worsened, would it affect your trip?

I forgot to ask you what your current ages are.

Also, if you didn't take your trip, would you re-use your flights for another trip?

    Hi Steve,

We both haven't any medical conditions. And my adult children don't either. I'm unaware of my in-laws medical conditions. I'm 57 and my husband is 51.  I would prefer getting money refunded rather than credit for airfare, but know that depends on the carrier

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi suehal,

    > don't plan on taking vaccine, so I want to be able to cancel if it becomes required

You will need a plan that includes the Cancel For Any Reason coverage because changing your mind is not a normally covered reason to cancel your trip.

You have to buy it within 14 - 21 days (depending on the company) after the first payment you made on Jan 11, 2021.

I'm happy to give you quotes & the details on the plan, but it requires private information: your ages, per person trip cost with airfare if any, destination and travel dates.

If you want, you may email this to me at steve@tripinsurancestore.com with your name & phone number and I'll privately answer you.

Or you can put the info here and I'll tell you the prices.

  3. Hello All,

We are first time cruisers set to sail in June on Oceania on a Rome to Rome cruise, and we are planning to stay an additional 4 nights in the Eternal City at the end of our cruise. We were looking for some hotel recommendations in Rome as well as any other advice on planning and timing.

At this point, our last major planning point is deciding where to stay in Rome and how much time to allot for each area we wish to visit. Any hotel recommendations are greatly appreciated, our goal is to stay at $250-300 (or less!) per night for a nice place in the forum area. We want to stay in a place that has some character/soul that is still clean with modern amenities, not some pasteurized business hotel full of Ikea furnishings.

Our tentative itinerary is as follows:

Day 1) Disembark 8am, 3 hours transfer to Rome and check-in to hotel. If it is close to Roman Forum, tour main Roman Forum, Coliseum and anything else we can fit in 6 hour period.

Day 2) Vatican Tour. I looked over this briefly, we want to try to see everything, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican Gardens (which should be amazing in June), any specific Vatican packages that cover it all is appreciated.

Day 3) Pompei/Vesuvius - I've read this is doable for a day trip and a 2 hour or so ride away from Rome.

Day 4) Anything left in Rome we didn't cover on Day 1. Relax if saw it all, maybe visit Forum again.

I guess we are mainly looking for positive reviews and suggestions for hotels. I think I would enjoy a home base in the Forum area, I saw a hotel called Forum Hotel that looked interesting with some charm that also had some beautiful views. We figure we can arrange for transport to everywhere else, but we really want to be in an area that isn't any other city block in any other busy city in the world.

Here's link to the hotel we were looking at: http://www.hotelforum.com/

Any suggestions are welcome, thanks !!!

My husband and I have stayed at Hotel Colosseum after a September cruise. We loved it so much we're staying again in a few weeks. It's walking distance to the Colosseum, the Forum etc. Yet it's off the beaten path and pretty quiet at night. It's a typical Italian Hotel. Great breakfast, staff and a wonderful rooftop deck. And it was pretty reasonable:)

  4. I went through the whole wake up at 3:00am routine to order underground tour tickets for the Colosseum (released earlier today for the month of September). However, they only released tickets for the first 15 days of September. The webpage that lists the release dates now includes in parenthesis "for the first 15 days", but only adds that for September. The following months still show that the entire month is available starting the 3rd Monday of the previous month. I tried calling the phone number on the web site but can't get through. Anyone know what's going on and when (if?) tickets will be release for the second half of September? Thanks.

I did the same thing! I'm really ticked off! I sent an e-mail, and they keep telling me to e-mail someone else! The third ring has been on my husband's bucket list forever!

  5. Suehal,

How late were you getting into St. Thomas? We will be on Allure and going into St. Thomas on the 18th of this month. We have a large group(33) going to red hook and was advised to pre arrange taxi service. The taxi is picking us up at 11:15. Will that be a problem? We are supposed to be there at 10. How hard is it getting off The Allure at ports, especially St. Thomas. This is the only port we have a pre arranged activity.

    Thanks

    Linda

We ended up finally getting off the ship, close to 1:00 pm:(
