Just finished your review, it was great! I loved your perspective of things as a Norwegian, my grandmother grew up in Bergen. I fondly remember that cucumber salad:) We are cruising to Norway in July on the Anthem of the seas. I can't wait!

Hallasm,
Could you give me some ideas for Haugesund? We're visiting Bergen, Olden and Geringer, and there seems to be plenty to do at these stops.
-
I'm also waiting on Amsterdam. Final payment is June. I don't want to be stressed out to go on vacation

Hi suehal,
Thanks for this info.
> no medical conditions
I want to clarify your answer because many people don't realize that the pre-existing medical condition exclusion also includes your non-traveling family members. For example, if one of your parents, children, siblings, in-laws, etc, who are staying home have some medical condition that worsened, would it affect your trip?
I forgot to ask you what your current ages are.
Also, if you didn't take your trip, would you re-use your flights for another trip?

Hi Steve,
We both haven't any medical conditions. And my adult children don't either. I'm unaware of my in-laws medical conditions. I'm 57 and my husband is 51. I would prefer getting money refunded rather than credit for airfare, but know that depends on the carrier
Thank you for your help!

Hi Steve, our cruise will be 3400 for the two of us total . So far only 500 deposit has been paid. We didn't use cruise credits, and no medical conditions.. We're also self employed. We haven't booked airfare yet.
Thank you:)

Hi Steve,
I have a cruise booked Aug 31-Sept 9 to Norwegian Fjords. We leave out of Amsterdam. We put down 500 deposit a year ago, and final payment is June 2. I haven't booked airfare yet. What should I do for insurance?

Hi suehal,
> don't plan on taking vaccine, so I want to be able to cancel if it becomes required
You will need a plan that includes the Cancel For Any Reason coverage because changing your mind is not a normally covered reason to cancel your trip.
You have to buy it within 14 - 21 days (depending on the company) after the first payment you made on Jan 11, 2021.
I'm happy to give you quotes & the details on the plan, but it requires private information: your ages, per person trip cost with airfare if any, destination and travel dates.
If you want, you may email this to me at steve@tripinsurancestore.com with your name & phone number and I'll privately answer you.
Or you can put the info here and I'll tell you the prices.

No medical conditions for travelers, but I'm worried about cancelling due to aging parents that are not coming with us. Also, don't plan on taking vaccine, so I want to be able to cancel if it becomes required. So basically trip cancellation and medical evacuation?

Anyone have any pictures of this cabin? Is it noisy?

I just booked a cruise today for Aug of 2022. I declined the cruise line insurance. What do I need and when do I have to do it by? We don't have any pre-existing conditions

Hello All,
We are first time cruisers set to sail in June on Oceania on a Rome to Rome cruise, and we are planning to stay an additional 4 nights in the Eternal City at the end of our cruise. We were looking for some hotel recommendations in Rome as well as any other advice on planning and timing.
At this point, our last major planning point is deciding where to stay in Rome and how much time to allot for each area we wish to visit. Any hotel recommendations are greatly appreciated, our goal is to stay at $250-300 (or less!) per night for a nice place in the forum area. We want to stay in a place that has some character/soul that is still clean with modern amenities, not some pasteurized business hotel full of Ikea furnishings.
Our tentative itinerary is as follows:
Day 1) Disembark 8am, 3 hours transfer to Rome and check-in to hotel. If it is close to Roman Forum, tour main Roman Forum, Coliseum and anything else we can fit in 6 hour period.
Day 2) Vatican Tour. I looked over this briefly, we want to try to see everything, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican Gardens (which should be amazing in June), any specific Vatican packages that cover it all is appreciated.
Day 3) Pompei/Vesuvius - I've read this is doable for a day trip and a 2 hour or so ride away from Rome.
Day 4) Anything left in Rome we didn't cover on Day 1. Relax if saw it all, maybe visit Forum again.
I guess we are mainly looking for positive reviews and suggestions for hotels. I think I would enjoy a home base in the Forum area, I saw a hotel called Forum Hotel that looked interesting with some charm that also had some beautiful views. We figure we can arrange for transport to everywhere else, but we really want to be in an area that isn't any other city block in any other busy city in the world.
Here's link to the hotel we were looking at: http://www.hotelforum.com/
Any suggestions are welcome, thanks !!!
My husband and I have stayed at Hotel Colosseum after a September cruise. We loved it so much we're staying again in a few weeks. It's walking distance to the Colosseum, the Forum etc. Yet it's off the beaten path and pretty quiet at night. It's a typical Italian Hotel. Great breakfast, staff and a wonderful rooftop deck. And it was pretty reasonable:)

I woke up at 3:00 am yesterday to buy tickets for the underground tour on September 30th. Unfortunately the dates for the tour end Sept. 15. I don't know what to do! It's the one thing my husband has always wanted to see. Does anyone have any info whether they will be opening up dates?
-
I went through the whole wake up at 3:00am routine to order underground tour tickets for the Colosseum (released earlier today for the month of September). However, they only released tickets for the first 15 days of September. The webpage that lists the release dates now includes in parenthesis "for the first 15 days", but only adds that for September. The following months still show that the entire month is available starting the 3rd Monday of the previous month. I tried calling the phone number on the web site but can't get through. Anyone know what's going on and when (if?) tickets will be release for the second half of September? Thanks.
I did the same thing! I'm really ticked off! I sent an e-mail, and they keep telling me to e-mail someone else! The third ring has been on my husband's bucket list forever!

Could be no one has created a thread there yet.
Just use the link I posted above and click the New Thread button and make the name of the thread the ship name and the sailing date,.
Thanks Bob:)

I know......, can't seem to get it there!

Hi,
We're Sue and Keith from Boston ,and we're very excited for this cruise! Any one else going??
-
We r leaving on sept 23, 2017, any advice on where to stay, eat etc. thanks
My husband and I will be on the same cruise:) Interested in hotels also.
-
My son and his girlfriend are on this cruise also:) He won it playing poker last year, and is required to play in a few tournaments while he's on board (poor thing)
I'm very interested in this whole Genie thing. I've been in an owner's suite, and we didn't have a genie. Is it just for Oasis class?
-
thanks so it looks like Allure is still having problems according to these posts did you leave Bahamas early or on time at 2pm ?
We left at 2:00
-
Suehal,
How late were you getting into St. Thomas? We will be on Allure and going into St. Thomas on the 18th of this month. We have a large group(33) going to red hook and was advised to pre arrange taxi service. The taxi is picking us up at 11:15. Will that be a problem? We are supposed to be there at 10. How hard is it getting off The Allure at ports, especially St. Thomas. This is the only port we have a pre arranged activity.
Thanks
Linda
We ended up finally getting off the ship, close to 1:00 pm:(

We were late getting to St Thomas on the Feb. 15 sailing. We were wondering if there was an issue.

I was also on this cruise and the original poster has it spot on. I have never encountered so many rude obnoxious people! You couldn't go to the windnammer without someone bumping, cutting you. By the end of the cruise I was ready to throw elbows! I still had fun though:)

Great review!! My family will be on the Allure Feb 15. We also have connecting cabins with our kids. I love how you showed the different room configurations. I'll definitely be working on my spreadsheet in the next couple of days:)
