  1. Here’s what happened to us 2 weeks ago boarding the Freedom of the Seas:

I am a primary care physician. I had a typed form on our office letterhead stating our name and that our rapid antigen test was negative 2 days prior. It was signed by one of my colleagues. Our rapid tests are read in our office by a desktop machine that does not print anything out. RC would not accept our typed letter. We had to go across the street in the port , where they do tests OUT OF A VAN, and pay $100 each for another test.  But since it was printed with a “lab’s name” on it, it was accepted.  Their wording on their website is somewhat ambiguous. Best wishes.

  2. Going back to Grand Cayman in a few weeks, and used Capt Bryan for the stingray tour back in 2006. Had a blast then. I have briefly looked at the boards and don't see his name much, although trip advisor still has recent reviews. Anyone been on his tour recently and can give a thumbs up or thumbs down?

  3. Well I called yesterday and the carnival rep. filled out the form for me and said I should hear something within two days. This morning I checked my email and YES I did receive a $100 credit. For what ever reason they had no record of my form so my advice is...When you submit the form, call and ask them for help filling it out too. Do it both ways;)

The rooms that got credit on our cruise are also the ones that called. The rooms that were denied were ones who only filled out the online form. They got a denial letter, saying their price was already lower. Since when is $549 less than $479?

  4. Went to Cozumel on the Elation over Thanksgiving and took a private cab to Mr. Sancho's. On the way back our group of 16 took 2 different cab vans. We told the driver we needed to go to the Carnival Elation. He tried dropping us off at one port that I recognized as the wrong port. Then he dropped us off behind a shopping mall that I thought was the correct port, but wasn't. Thinking the next port was nearby we decided to walk. Forty five minutes later we made it to the ship, 10 minutes prior to sail time, not boarding time. Lesson learned. Know your port by name, since their are several in Cozumel.

  5. Good luck. Just got off the Elation, and my in-laws booked 7 rooms for a family vacation for their 50th wedding anniv. The price dropped from $549 to $479 for a 6E category room on American Discount Cruise website. Four rooms got onboard credit, 3 rooms got none. All had to submit separate early saver forms. VERY frustrating.
