If you don’t want to be around children, don’t elect to cruise on lines that advertise to families on a budget. There are plenty of more expensive lines that price families out

So odds are they will have the Game if it is a nationally broadcasted game, only thing is they use a satellite so it may go in and out.
I would THINK so, I don’t remember what all channels the ship carries, but if Sunday Night Football is broadcast via the NBC local affiliates they might not have it at all. But I think they’re on Peacock now? So you could be able to stream it via the wifi package I believe

I generally budget 2 to 2.5 hours for the specialty restaurants. I suppose you COULD try to rush it more, but if I were you I’d just move the reservation up. As for the game being shown, I couldn’t tell you because I don’t really understand the NFL’s blackout restrictions and the national vs local broadcasts.

The "Double Savings" promo is supposed to return Jan 23 but you never know what will happen with the price between now and then. Wave season is proving to be pretty disappointing.
Ah, thank you. We're looking to go on our first Celebrity cruise - NCL is just getting too expensive for the product they offer (I mean even right now Celebrity's 9 day is cheaper than an NCL balcony 7 day).
Just trying to maximize savings!

We were pricing out cruises last night. Turns out we should have gone ahead and pulled the trigger.
Up another $500 minimum, but at least the beverage package is the premium one now?

I can't say for sure that they are watered down but that is how we always felt as well.
I know the mixed drinks seem a little weak, but that’s probably because I make mine a lot stronger at home. But it makes sense why they would maybe have 1.25oz liquor instead of 1.5

I found something interesting while reviewing my Feb 9, 2020 reservation and looking through the activities list, Laser Tag is not anywhere to be found !! Maybe, just maybe, (please, please) they are reading these posts and Spice will make an "encore"!! (couldn't resist that). Could I have missed it in the list??
Anyone else check their reservation and find something different?
I’m on that sailing too, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. They normally don’t open up any kind of reservations up until 120-130 days out.
Doesn’t the deck plan still show laser tag?

I don't disagree that he needs an attorney, I disagree with the posters who say they should blame Royal Caribbean, so he doesn't have to pay any consequences, because that would be best for the family.
I don’t think all of us are saying that this is the ideal situation, but that from a legal perspective it is the right one. Assuming he also has a criminal defense attorney, this move makes the most sense in keeping him out of jail.
And everyone has the right to legal representation, whether or not they are guilty

Maybe I was just raised differently, but rather than blame an innocent party, I take responsibility for my mistakes.
While I agree with you, taking responsibility for manslaughter, ensuring you are in jail for the rest of your life is a little different than taking responsibility for leaving the refrigerator door open and letting all the food go bad

Yeah...this is tragic. Why the family is employing a lawyer is well beyond my comprehension, however.
I’m no lawyer, but I would assume that hiring a civil attorney to sue the cruise line would help his case in a criminal manslaughter/child endangerment case. At least to some members of the jury.

We paid off our Feb. Encore cruise this past weekend! We’re excited to sail on this ship - gonna give it a chance. Hopefully the large observation deck will help offset the amount of pool deck space that was removed

I would find it hilarious if NCL or CCL announces a "Royal Caribbean Flash Sale" and legit offers their drink packages for $18 a day for like 6 hours or so. Treat it like advertising spend.
Lol NCL would never do that. We pay more in gratuities per day for our drink packages!

Sometimes I feel that people on here don’t realize that English is usually the crew’s second or even third language. Also, while NCL has fantastic crew members, sometimes what one views as rude (a short curt answer), others view as helpful.

Ok this thread is getting confusing. Did OP really spend 10 grand or more on a cruise line he’s never been on, and then get upset that they didn’t understand what the Haven was?
And now people are arguing semantics?

Also not sure why you put back of the bus in quotes...since that was literally something happening to people just one generation ago in this country.
I would assume because he’s saying that comparing racial segregation (that wasn’t even a generation ago - many people who are alive today lived through that) to different perks for passengers who pay different amounts of money to cruise is absurd

You will find people come here to complain about the most trivial, inconsequential and frankly dumb things.
"OMG!!! My cruise was totally ruined because the waiter forgot my appetizer on day 4! Never cruising again! Unacceptible!!!"
“I want Three Cheese Ziti but don’t want to go to the restaurant that serves it, I want the waiter to bring it to another restaurant for me!”

Totally agree...it's not like corporations have ever made stupid mistakes before in a short-term push for higher profits. And Norwegian never makes mistakes analyzing the cruise market, either. After all, NCL Joy is selling out all those Chinese cruises...oh...wait.
Yes, because trying to appeal to the growing discount-cruise market in the United States is completely the same thing as trying to enter a new market entirely. You’re right, and probably a genius. Why didn’t NCLH hire you to be their CEO?
-
I don’t think NCL (or really any of the other big lines) are returning to “class” cruising. Sure you get more perks when you spend more money, but that’s how things work everywhere else in life too.

I always purchase the drink package on most cruise ships when they are fairly reasonable such as Princess who is my favorite overall line. I also find my favorite bartender and tip him up front and as we move along. The rest of the cruise is always fabulous at the bar. NCL's premium drink package is around $140 pp/per day including tip. That's going way too far. I like to drink but even I can't drink that much. My advice to anyone who is on a cruise that stops almost every day or so at a new port is not to buy the card unless they offer you a deal. You are simply not on board to warrant the expense. I prefer transatlantic and transpacific cruises so there are at least 5 days at sea. Not it comes in handy. Note: Princess will allow you to purchase only 1 drink package if the other person in your cabin doesn't drink. It's an honor system and so far it appears to be working out for all parties. Way to go Princess!
Well....NCL's drink package is almost always part of a "deal". So it ends up being about $20pp/day. Or basically two drinks
Also, similarly to Princess, you CAN get a drink package for just one person, you just have to call and give reasoning (pregnant, can't drink for medical reasons, alcoholic, doesn't drink).

At least there was one poster who was honest enough to say that he/she removed it because he/she thought they paid enough for the cruise.
Man I wish I could apply that logic to my mortgage “oh I’m not gonna pay interest, I pay enough every month anyways”

Everytime you purchase a product from a company, you are being forced to foot the company's employees' salaries.
Here is what I don't understand. If someone's cruise is $1,000 plus the DSC of $100 or their cruise is $1,100 and no DSC, isn't it all the same. Either way you are paying for the cruise and the crew's wages. When NCL did the second option in the UK and the other countries, after folks have been posting here for years that it should be included in the fare, they still complained, not it was that the cruise fare was too expensive. I can only surmise that the people that complained saying they wanted the crew to be paid a decent either don't understand how business works or they really don't give a rat's behind about the crew, it is just about saving them money. I also wonder if these some folks fight with hotels about paying a resort fee, if not maybe NCL should start calling it a resort fee.
It all boils down to: “I want the crew to be paid better wages as long as it doesn’t inconvenience me, or raise prices on what I’m paying for”

Man I hope they don’t remove the Beverage package from the FAS offers (being over $100pppd is a crazy high number, and it isn’t like their drinks are a bit….watered down). If they do, I may switch over to Celebrity since they have everything included and the prices are similar
