Before our World Cruise was cancelled the Mariner went to strict sanitation methods and the self serve coffee machines could only be operated by crew, They were turned off at night and didn't open until 6:30am.

Unfortunately the M&M parties are scheduled in advance from Miami and they don't know what lectures or events may be put in the same time frame. When we sign nu for M&M we don't know the shipboard schedule and often the conflicting event or lecture is more important to some individuals and that creates the large number of no shows. We often show up at the end after the lecture and get to meet some folks.

Regent should change the special events to "Upper Tier" for Gold thru Platinum and "Top Tier" for Titanium thru Commodore. That way the smaller top tier could have more inclusive events like they did in the past before the full group got so large.

Unfortunately Regent usually schedules M & M parties the same time as an enrichment lecture.

The same thing happened to us when staying at our Mexican time share. Fortunately my wife saved the offer on her iPad and when we booked back home in the US we were able to get Regent to, reluctantly, honor the offer. We saved $4500.00 which more than covered our $300.00 flight to Miami.

Don’t worry once on ship space opens up on the excursions. Just talk to Shore Distansations and they can do wonders. Go on wait list. Remember sugar gets you more then vinegar

The power plant is 4 Wartsilla diesel engines running generators. The propulsion is 3 shafted variable pitch KaMeWa propellers run by electric motors. The number of diesels on at any time is dictated by the power needs. They normally use the bunker oil that is heated before being sent into the injectors.

Looking for anyone who is booked on new Vantage cruise on La Perla , a 27 passenger yacht on the Croatia coast.
It's first cruises are to begin in August. It looks to be an interesting scenario, with a totally different and intriguing traveling option than normally offered on the river cruises.
We are seriously considering booking for 2016, and I'm hoping someone will write a review.
We just finished a Croatia cruise on La Perla with Vantage. It's a boutique yacht with a maximum of 27 guests. The food on board is mainly Croatian dishes and we liked it very much. All soft drinks, coffees, and Croatian wine, beer & schnapps are free and unlimited in quantity. The cabins aren't large, but plenty adequate and there was plenty of storage for our clothes. The staff is great and look after you very well. The cruise visits many small towns & villages and some meals are in local restaurants or homes. The cruise also includes 3 days in Opatia and in Zagreb. There is no tipping for local guides, drivers etc as Vantage handles that. There are the standard gratuities for crew and cruise manager just like on river boats. It's one of the best organized tours we have ever taken and we recommend it highly. If you aren't using Vantage air, be sure to get the airport/hotel transfers (Zagreb airport to Opatia is a 2 hour drive.)

Talk to the future cruise sales person. We got our upgrade when we hit the number of points before the end of the cruise.

Amsterdam has wonderful food at good prices. Eat locally. You arrive around 6pm and in summer it stays light until around 11pm.
