  1. My Alaskan May cruise was cancelled, I rebooked for next April (caribbean)....base rate was transferred to new cruise.  I have a very small final payment due January 24/21...Problem here is...I've been reading that we might not be able to even get off the ship at the ports unless you have a CARNIVAL excursion booked.  I'm sorry, I cruise for the ports....so I might want to cancel but not sure how much I will lose....I don't have cancellation insurance so not sure if it is based on how close to the cruise you are....

If I have to wear a mask at limited amound of places, like only during boarding, in corridors, lifts, or maybe even in the theater, then yes, I would take the cruise, no problem. If I have to wear the mask like all the time, except for dinner, then no thank you, I'll wait a little longer. Currently the idea of only being allowed to leave the ship with an excursion bothers me more, than the idea of having to wear a mask every now and then.

Wait....What?  Only leave the ship if you are doing an excursion?  Did I miss something

  3. Yes I do believe you are correct, now that I think about it.  I understand that I will have a FCC but that I would be receiving a refund for the taxes and also for the prepaid gratuities.  Only the BASE cruise amount would be FCC...AS that is what we selected....Am I correct?

  4. I want to book a future cruise but have not got refund for cruise cancelled back in mid March!  I have a great offer I want to use but expires at the end of August....UGH  I CAN'T book until I get the refund and FCC processed....Such a MESS

I agree. All that's coming down is happening so fast, I can't wrap my head around all the possibilities. When I'm about ready to trip the trigger, somethinghing deep down inside of me says...' hold on, don't act in haste.'  Now is the time to double think your desires. This stuff is happening way to fast for me. So I'm going to step back, and observe and absorb the news for a while before I act to hastily. Just IMO.

I have to agree with you.  My Alaskan cruise in May was cancelled of course....I just can't bring myself to book anything in the near future....too risky!

Specifically, what ports in Greece do you want to visit, and does it have to be on Carnival? I have cruises on MSC and Carnival in Oct., and the MSC cruise leaves from Venice and includes visits to Mykonos, Santorini and Cephalonia. The following Legend cruise leaves from Venice, but only includes Corfu in Greece...it ends in Barcelona.

HI...Does not have to be Carnival.  Looking at 2021....Santorini, Mykonos

This is Carnival Legend's scheduled Europe cruises for 2021. Bottom of page shows 3 Greek Isle cruises (Rome roundtrip) on Sep 5, Sep 24 and Oct 4. I booked the Baltic run on Aug 15 after the cancelled Mardi Gras TA. Looking to book the 11 day Oct 4th soon.

Thank you for taking the time to post this for me, appreciate that...

  8. Ya...NO....You will NOT GET your monies worth unless you can really pound them back EVERYDAY....and 12 alcoholic drinks a day is JUST TO BREAK EVEN!

I've done the CHEERS PKG...for 8 of my 12 cruises.  I passed on getting it back in May...My bar bill at the end of the 8 day cruise was $250.00 (but I also had free drinks while playing in the casino)...so I wouldn't pay $800.00 when you are the only drinker....P.S.  I also realized that having the Cheers Pkg made me drink a lot more than I would normally drink...because I wanted to make sure that I at least got my money back....

  9. We did a Premier in May of this year and have booked 1 for May 2020....You get priority boarding, (we were already Platinum so always get that)....but there are perks in the Casino...Every nite we came back to the room there were little gifts, ie, bottle of champagne, box of salted caramels from the "Cherry on Top" store, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate bars, cards....etc. etc.  We had fun....

This post is quite rude. I haven't heard anyone on this thread, or really on this board in general demand that they be served something in particular due to a dietary restriction. It's generally posts like this where the poster knows what is on the menu and is perfectly fine making due with what is one the menu but simply asking if there are off menu options. Asking and insisting are not the same thing. Especially considering this isn't a restaurant where they have a particular menu with cooks who are trained to cook it and they only source their menu items. This is a cruise ship where there are stores for a great number of items, and other kitchens on the ship where they are cooking many other menu items. It's not unreasonable to simply ask what the options are.

I AGREE!  I thought that as soon as I started to read it...

Don’t forget. Most casino offers come with a non refundable deposit. So either you lose it or there is a cost to transfer bookings.

since it’s the exact same cruise they might wave those charges.   Give the casino department a call and check you options
Also premiere offers come with extra offers Perks thru the casino

spoke to my TA...After all was said and done....ended up transferring to "PREMIER" CRUISE RATE...saved approx 275.00 EACH!... AND $100.00 casino play money....and there were no fees, same cruise, same room......we saved more than the $500.00 OBC was worth.. We did a Premier back in May and got lots of goodies in the room from champagne to salted caramels, and all kinds of other stuff, it was fun! WINNER WINNER
