I don't know what your timetable is like, but we always put our luggage out the night before and then stay on the ship as long as possible.  This makes getting an elevator easier.  Also, you might consider using forward or aft elevators and going to the appropriate debarkation floor, as the central elevators always seem to be the ones that are the busiest.  We did just debark off the Spirit and went down during early debarkation, though, and had no issues whatsoever.

Definitely putting most of the luggage out the night before - I just don't trust them with my wedding dress...

We have an aft wraparound cabin, so the aft elevators should be handy, thanks!

We always pack as much as we can into the big cases, leaving just the minimum for the morning plus medications etc to be carried at debarcation. You should also have a water flask as you may be waiting around for some time.

You will be told where to gather, but if there is any doubt, ask. Stick together with your partner until you have collected all your luggage together in departures and then send him off to get the van.

I can only speak from our experience, but we have always found the staff, both on the ship and in reception very helpful.

Good idea on the water, thanks! Still getting used to the POTS game.

Is he going to take all the luggage with him?  Are you going to be able to manage some of it?  Because once he has left the terminal to get the car, he won’t be allowed back in.  You might have to get a porter to help.  EM

The friend who is staying behind with me is a 6ft Scandinavian weightlifter 😁

Not opposed to using a porter either if one is available.

  4. Brand new owner of a mobility scooter due to POTS - we will have priority boarding as a wedding party (Woohoo!) but how does getting off work? I seem to remember that the elevators are “luggage only” the first and last day? Is there one reserved for passengers that can’t do the stairs, or do we gather in a different area and get escorted off?

My fiancé is planning on self assisting off so he can pick me and the friend that’s staying back with me up in our rental van.

I am told the Lobster Benedict is worth the upcharge. I definitely will try it on my cruise in March. I used to get steak and eggs but probably won't if it is not filet mignon.

So many complaints about the upcharges. There is so much waste I would imagine people will waste less if you have to pay for it. Cruising is still the best value in vacations IMHO.

SDB is the only place I can get gluten-free Benedict - will have to try the lobster!

At Port Everglades scooter was in our cabin. For Port of Miami (Celebration), we’ve been advised that scooter pick up is actually in the terminal prior to boarding and has to be returned to the terminal after disembarking.

The problem with that is weddings board before the pickup is open…

Did the COVID virus cause that much lung damage?  Sorry to hear that.

It seems like we have never recovered 100% from our infection a year ago despite being vaccinated 3 times.

It caused circulatory issues that cause swelling in my neck, among other issues… Vaxxed and boosted to the max but post-infection, when we had it they didn’t have treatments or vaccines yet.

Best wishes to both of you. 🙂

I have to ask:  Is one of you actually arriving in a wedding gown?  I HOPE SO!  That would be the most festive thing to see when boarding a ship!

    BIG GRINS (either way)!

Yes, I will be riding the half mile from the hotel in my dress. Fiancé is wearing a kilt, so two skirts total?

If you haven't already done so, you should advise Carnival's Guest Access Team that you will be bringing medical equipment.   1-800-438-6744 ext. 70025

And direct from Carnival's website under Guests with Disabilities FAQ:

Do you offer CPAP machine rental?

You must bring your own equipment on board for personal use. Please hand- carry these items and do not place them in your checked luggage.

I found this out when I called to tell them about my wheelchair! (Yes, I'm a mess. Stupid covid...)

  10. In our wedding paperwork, I noticed this paragraph and now I'm freaking out a little bit: "The bride and groom may carry on a garment bag in addition to a carry-on bag. Only one hand-carry-on bag will be permitted for sailing guests and must fit through the security machine. Luggage not to exceed 24”w x 16”h. All other bags must be checked with the Porters."

We both use CPAPs, I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user, and I'm bringing my own artificial flowers + a few accents for the reception tables because the all-white color scheme just isn't us (don't get me wrong, I understand if they tried to keep all the possible colors of everything on board, they'd need to tow a second ship.) On the plus side - I make a really good luggage cart!

We're arriving fully dressed for photo reasons - since we won't have garment bags, do you think  they'll let us on with two carry-ons, two CPAPs, and a box of supplies? If we have to pack everything into our carryons that's going to be tough since we're the only ones sailing....

We're having a lot of it shipped to my future MIL, who's driving to the port, so flying with it isn't an issue. Picture of my bouquet just because 🥰

  11. I tried searching for this and didn't find anything - getting married on the Carnival Spirit next year. Our paperwork says: "The bride and groom may carry on a garment bag in addition to a carry-on bag. Only one hand-carry-on bag will be permitted for sailing guests and must fit through the security machine. Luggage not to exceed 24”w x 16”h. All other bags must be checked with the Porters."

The ceremony is on embarkation day, so we're arriving fully dressed. However, we both use CPAPs; will we be allowed to carry those on ourselves in addition to our carry-ons? I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user, so I make a very good luggage cart 😜

I'm really thinking that'll solve my problem.  I have a couple trays that would work fine.

Unless someone has some brilliant idea that hasn't occurred to me, I think that's going to be the solution.

    THANKS.

You could always custom paint a tray with your names and the sailing date? That would make it obvious it's not something to be cleared away.

Duh didn't even think to look there... even if they are on there now by December of next year that can change

I figured the ingredients were probably the same fleet-wide? Maybe not geographically though…
