I realize this question isn’t about the funtimes, but cruise critic won’t let me post a new question even though I’m signed in! Does jubilee have any of those folded maps available? You could always pick them up at guest services (they’re about credit card size and folded about 6 times). I checked on paradise last November and they said they don’t carry those any longer, but I thought with jubilee being a new ship, there may be a chance they exist.

I think Carnival stopped for a while because for a couple of cruises I had to go to the java cafe to pick them up every day. Last couple of cruises we got then every evening in our mailbox.

I don't think the libraries are utilized as much as they used to be, but we still go there to play cards on rainy days or when we need to get out of the sun for a bit. And I have seen several groups playing games from some the of various games they have on the shelves in the library. Or if someone has to work (horrible as it may sound on vacation), that would be a great spot to do so.

I am thinking about purchasing the plate of 6 chocolate covered strawberries from the gifts section that you can order before the cruise. Same place I order our bottles of water. My question is, are those the good quality chocolate covered strawberries like the ones that can be found at the coffee/dessert shop on the ships? Thanks

We are planning to do some snorkeling at Chankanaab and will need to utilize their lockers. Are they secure? Has anyone had issues with this park's lockers?
Thank you

My daughter and I were thinking of treating ourselves to a pedicure on our cruise on the Valor. I have looked at the spa brochure online and noticed one for $55 and a fire & ice pedi for $65. I was wondering if they have just a basic pedi that may not be on the brochure.

Happy Cruising!

Does anyone know if you can get an extra chair on a balcony? We will have 3 people on a regular balcony on the Carnival Miracle (deck 6). Can we ask for an extra chair from our room steward or should we just bring one of those fold up chairs in a bag? (if that is even allowed).
Thanks,
Darla

Does anyone know if this will change the week of Feb. 10-17 due to the Olympics? I believe some of the Olympics will be shown on the big screen . . .

Do any of these places have decent snorkeling?

On our cruise this past February, we received 2 nightlights. I thought they were really neat, but my DH gave them to our 2 adult children! I never got to enjoy them! At least I know the kids will get good use out of them! We like the stuff mainly because it says Carnival! And most of it is useful!

Take a good pair of binoculars. We enjoy using them as we approach the ports and when we pass other ships at sea.

I like the YouTube idea!! We usually book our next year's cruise while on our current cruise! So we come home and hang out on Cruise Critic when not working!!

Same here! From Illinois, cruised Conquest a couple of weeks ago, pre-ordered a 12 pack for $2.99 (no tax) and it was in our room by dinner time. Great to see fellow cruisers from Illinois. We are central. What region are you from CrazyboutDisney and Draka1?

Glad to see that Allyn Ball is still around! Haven't seen him in years and thought he was over the cruise ship scene. Love his comedy!
We saw Louis Johnson on Conquest a few weeks ago - very good! Will keep an eye on his website to see if he ever makes it to our neck of the woods!

our waiter was OK...but my husband put his empty COKE can on his empty plate and he said to him...PLEASE DON'T DO THAT.. MY BOSS WILL FIRE ME...... HUH?
This is my first time copying quotes from previous posts, so I am thinking I did it wrong, but wanted to chime in. A few years ago (I can't remember which ship) in the MDR, we had a booth with 6 people open only at one end, so it was a long reach to the person by the wall. The first and second night we all stacked our dishes up and placed them close to the end so our waitress could reach them. She scowled the first night and the second night she asked us not to do that. I think it is considered "full service" dining and the staff is expected to do everything!

Thank you! Hope you had a great time on your trip!

Our cruise is Saturday-Sunday. I know that formal nights are usually the 2nd night and the next to the last night of the cruise. However, our 2nd night on the 8 day conquest is super bowl, so they are moving formal night to the 3rd night. Will the other formal night still be the next to the last night (Friday)? Thanks!

Sailing on the Conquest out of Ft. Lauderdale. Never got an e-mail and have logged into Carnival, but have not seen where to choose a time. We have done our online check-in and when we printed out the boarding passes, it gave us a time frame of 1:30-3:00. Didn't have a choice. Not too pleased. We have always gotten to ports around 11:00 and in line ready to go and usually get on by noon or so. I think first come, first serve is the best and they should keep it (continue to pass out the zone cards once you check in). Why are they trying to change it?
-
The first time we sailed Carnival was because it was the easiest on the wallet, but 13 cruises later we are still with Carnival because we really like them!

We always have early dining and once we are finished, we go back to the room and get in our comfortable clothes to finish the evening. We may have gotten looks too, but I just chalk it up to people "people watching" and don't let it bother me.

In drydock, I read that they changed the entrance to the imax from deck 8 to deck 7. Our cabin will be on deck 7 right by the elevators just forward of the theater. How late to they run shows? I imagine it could get noisy with folks walking to and from the theater.
