  1. Yup.  Whisked more crew off ship.  From what I’ve seen I think RC is doing all they can to make for as safe a cruise as possible. They are vaxxed, double masked. Constant cleaning. Spacing.   Routine testing.  If test positive they are put in quarantine.  I can’t imagine what other steps they can take.  I have felt as safe or even more safe here as any place back home.

  2. Got back to the cabin after contributing at the casino.  Will be interesting to see where we are in the morning.  TV tracking map looks like we headed toward Nassau but turned back and are now near Coco Cay again.   Hoping that’s the situation and we get another shot at a perfect day.   Crossing my fingers that is what actually happens.  But we shall see what the morning brings.  No matter what, this has been a fun week.   The crew has done everything humanly possible to make our trip safe and enjoyable.  Just got to go with the flow and remember life is like a box of chocolates.   That’s what makes it interesting.

  3. I just stopped by guest services and asked for passenger count.   2,311.  Except for around the pool on deck 15 at peak hours crowds not an issue.  (Deck 16 closed due to weather).   Was so windy we didn’t stick around anyway.   At main dining many empty tables by us.   The aqua theater show tonight canceled due to weather and rescheduled to Thursday.

  4. I have come home from several cruises with the cups still plastic sealed. Both hubby and I leave them in the cabin the whole cruise, unused. I've found no need to drag them with me around the ship...they put soda (or my adult beverages) in a regular glass when we order a beverage from any bar or during meals with our beverage package. Not sure about the self-serve soda machine....never bothered to use those. We use the cups after we get home -- they make great pontoon cups when we go out on the lake.

  5. Here's a thought (not sure if a good one or not) that might reduce the number in the DL lounge: how about some sort of discount on the beverage package as an option for D's and up? I don't know what the equivalent to the 3 drinks during happy hour amounts to.....but some sort of discount might reduce the stress on the DL if it encourages more folks to purchase the beverage package. All I know is that we use the DL a lot more when we haven't purchased the beverage package....and a lot less when we have purchased the beverage package. :D

  6. and to stave off any protests about them going through growth spurts and whatnot so not wanting to waste money on something they will never wear again:

    two words:

    THRIFT STORES.

    ----------------------------

Amen. That goes whether you are 8 to 80. We took my dad and step-mom on a cruise for Dad's 80th. He's a farmer and doesn't wear suits. My step-mom went to the local thrift shop and found a beautiful suit for him...and it even had the tags still on it - had not been worn! He had a fantastic cruise and looked like a million bucks - but on a dime. He did joke however that he'll probably not wear it again until his "final journey." But in all seriousness -- it isn't that hard to find something nice yet inexpensive.

  7. We've purchased the package on two cruises now and thought it was well worth it. Our decision wasn't based on whether we would "lose" or "make" money on the deal (though, I don't think RC came out too much ahead if it did. :)) The main thing DH and I like is that we know the price going in. One less thing to think about on vacation -- which is a good thing. Also, with the package, if I want to try a drink I've never tried before - I will. If I don't like it, I don't feel I should try to finish a so-so drink (or have DH drink it for me ;)) like I would have had we paid $$$ for each drink. It was also great to get bottles of water plus some pop (MN term for soda) now and then, which is also included.

The one drawback I thought was that as Diamond members - having the package basically negated the Diamond Lounge drinks as being a "perk" for us. I wish they'd give even a token amount of discount on the package if one is Diamond or higher.

  8. I'll be on the Grandeur 04-07-07 sailing from NOLA to the western caribbean. Since I'll be spending alot of time in the casino in the evenings, I'll snag one for you, no problem.

THANKS! I'll send you an email to work out details. I've seen the mouse you've talked about at a M&M, but don't have any idea where to find one, sorry, but will keep my eyes open. SMN

  9. My husband has been collecting one chip from each cruise we've gone on. However, he forgot to save one from the Grandeur of the Seas. I've been watching ebay but haven't seen one yet. If anyone has a $5.00 one from the Grandeur they'd like to sell, I'd love to know. SMN
